Week 2: List My SaaS - Crossed $1,000+ and 2,000+ sessions in less than 10 days

Hey Indiehackers,

Every week, I share about our journey of building and launching ListMySaas

If you missed last week’s post, you can check it out here 👉 https://www.indiehackers.com/post/week-1-list-my-saas-made-500-in-just-2-days-of-launch-1afa83ae37

TL;DR - This week’s highlights
→ We have added filters to the website
→ We crossed $1,000+ from our products and services in just 7 days of the launch

For context,

ListMySaas is a free collection of 115 directories and tech platforms for saas founders to submit their saas and get the first 1000 users.

What did we do this week?

→ Improved the user experience of the site (Filters, Removed a CTA)
→ Redesigned the upsell card on the site
→ Made changes to Gumroad variants

Added filters

Filters is our top most suggested feature on our site.

So, this week we added categories to all the places and added a filter to the site, so that visitors can find places easily based on the type of saas they’re building

These are the categories we added

→ The OGs
→ LTD places
→ Niche places
→ Good DR sites
→ Beta directories
→ Rising platforms
→ Startup news sites
→ High-traffic places
→ Maker communities
→ Similar to Product Hunt

An experiment that failed

Initially we let users download the list for free from the website.

But this week, we experimented monetising the download and charged 5$ for those who wished to download it

We thought this was:
→ One more way to monetize the site &
→ increase the number of people who buy our upsell for $19 as paid consumers convert better

But this experiment failed. only 1 customer paid to download the list in a span of 7 days. So, we reverted back to the free list.

So the lesson we learnt from this is that it is better to build an email list and nurture our audience before we sell them our paid products

ListMySaas numbers by week 2

Unique Visitors: 1,700+
Sessions: 2,300+
Revenue: $1,300+
Sales: 93 (Free + paid)

What’s next?

→ Design popups to collect email addresses and setup email sequences to plug our paid products
→ Planning to add more details about each place on the list
1. Listing price
2. Backlink type
3. Are sposnsorships available
4. Do they have a newsletter

That’s it from my side for this week. I hope this post helps you to learn something new.
