Heavily inspired by this post, I would love to have a weekly video conference with real, like-minded people face to face.
So basically, we just set up a time in the week for a Zoom (or any other arbitrary software) call, and then we talk with each other about anything that comes naturally up in the conference, favorably product or business-related.
That way, we could connect with each other, hang out, socialize, and maybe learn one thing or another.
This is not exactly an idea for a product, rather just something that we could organize and push here on Indie Hackers.
What do you think?
PS.: Someone who seems doing this on a whole different level is @isadwatson with Squad, and it looks marvelous!
I like the idea.
Also did you try YC startup school weekly group sessions? I think we can do something similar for IHers. each week you get matched with 3 random IHers. So a group of 4 to share what they are working on and give/get feedback

Yes this is a cool idea.
I have participated in one of Rosie's meetups already last week too.
@ppalevsky is working on something very similar as he mentioned already.
I think what your suggesting sounds more casual though and more of like a group chat/catch up?
@ppalevsky what are you working on exactly?
@gordon no, more like structured meeting. here's what going on with YC group sessions. https://i.imgur.com/vHEObTm.png
and what is nice that at the end of each session you give anonymous feedback for other participants

Do it.
I'm organising regular meetups too with a focus on them being small, themed and to the point.
I've been using:
I have spare capacity in my IH Whereby account if you are interested...I could create a 'standup' room. No obligation or pressure though. I'm still figuring out how to best organise the ones I'm doing.
I'd also recommend posting to our IH Meetups group and then listing it on the Meetup page.
Thank you, much appreciated!
I think I may try an existing meetup first (didn't realize there are a bunch of similar ones already on here), and then see what's next. Thanks! 😊🙏
I'd be down to do this. Something short and sweet. Lets collab and get one going this week? I'd say Google Meet with 100 people and its free for 60 minutes. My LinkedIn is https://www.linkedin.com/in/eharris04/
I would like to get some more positive responses here before we actually schedule a meeting. There should be at least 6 participants or something so it makes sense IMHO.
Did you see the responses from the other post you mentioned? I agree we should get more responses before scheduling a meeting. This wouldn't be a case of schedule it and they come.
This sounds interesting. I'd definitely be up for that 😁
I'm kinda in a few of these groups. So would be good to know the schedule that works.
Nah. We're indie hackers. First, we find out if there is demand, then we schedule :D
Indeed, as an indie hacker, I can wait until the calendar comes out lol :P
