Don't forget to introduce yourself and say hi to someone else below! ๐Ÿค—

Hi. My names Joel. I'm a self-taught software engineer from the North of England ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

I went from sales to software developer in a year and doubled my salary. 4 years later and I'm a mobile developer for an enterprise level SaaS company offering software solutions to the construction industry. That's my corporate life. I am currently working on a couple of side projects. I'm here to start, and I mean really start. No more stewing on doing it. Just do it. Be held accountable here and build some relationships with other like minded folks along the way.

๐Ÿ“ TechPickle.com - My personal blog. It is currently a work in progress. I've been too busy trying to figure out the design that I have been neglecting writing. In true lean fashion I am just going to make a basic place to hold my posts and then build on it bit by bit as I learn and grow. I will be posting when it is fully launched with my first article. I will be covering an array of topics relating to tech, programming and product building. Alongside chronicling my journey of becoming a self-taught software developer, and through it, changing my life. I will also be working on different tech products through to completion and providing my insights, successes and failures I learn from along the way. Starting with Alexa skills.

๐Ÿ’ฌ 30 day workout challenge - My first journey into building Alexa Skills. The title says it all. Voice is massive at the moment, so I thought this would be a great place to start for my blog/own interests. There are similar skills on the market but none with the ability to tailor workouts as far as I am aware. I wish I had started this when I originally planned. Would have been perfect for lock-down workouts, but its better to start late than to never start at all. My first step is to continue learning and building the skill before I move on to figuring out the right way to market it.

๐Ÿ“บ Learn how to create videos for YouTube. - My next progression into content creation. Once I nail the blog and hit is consistently, this will be my next challenge.

    โœ”๏ธ Finish the website.

    โœ๏ธ Post consistently.

๐Ÿ’ฏ No matter what, enjoy the journey.

    Hi all
My name is Guillaume. I am actually working on a side project named Ninja Cookie with a friend. Ninja Cookie is an easy-to-use, free browser extension that rejects cookies and automatically removes cookie banners. The addon enhace web browsing experience and improve user privacy by opting out of advertising or tracking cookies.

    https://ninja-cookie.com

Now, the addon is published on Chrome, Firefox and Edge webstore. We want now to get feedbacks and tips to make the user community grow and maybe turn this side project into a pro project. So I'm here to read, learn and share :)

    Stay safe,
    Guillaume

Hello all ๐Ÿ‘‹! My name is Franco. I love cooking, basketball and iโ€™m a passionate developer with 7 years experience.

Amids the covid lockdown and realising how complicated it is to find a good front-end development service, I launched this past month MVP Checklist mvpchecklist.com, with the idea of providing a reliable, affordable alternative for website development so that people can bring to life their ideas in a timely manner.

The process is simple: you can upload your website designs made in Figma, we code it in react for a fixed price and youโ€™ll have a fully functioning frontend ready within 5 business days.
You can certainly DM me if you are interested ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hope to be able to contribute and meet everyone!

Hi! Iโ€™m Nate, Iโ€™m a self taught software engineer from Miami Fl, and now my wife and I live in Sacramento CA.
After quitting my 150k/yr job, Iโ€™ve decided to work on something Iโ€™m really passionate about โ€” education. I was homeschooled growing up and am very grateful for my education and the freedoms it allowed me.
One of those freedoms was the ability to learn from a very wide range of study. My parents were able to hand pick any curriculum they wanted for me, and I even got a say in picking. However, sorting through thousands of curriculum, books, and resources to find the perfect fit for your child can be a daunting task.

    Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m building Studyscope.io

Study Scope is a platform for homeschooling parents who are both veterans and starting out. It makes it easy to find resources based on the educator's needs, and the child's needs. Where someone would normally search for title or by grade for a curriculum resource, you can search by teaching styles, learning styles, grades, and much more! It's powered by a passionate community of educators that recommend and review material, as well as share the curriculum โ€œstackโ€ they have selected for their children.

โ€œEducationโ€ seems to have the idea attached to it that in order to learn, you need a professional teacher. I think having the right tools will facilitate teaching for the โ€œnon-prosโ€ will make a huge difference.

Goal number one is to starting building a community (like this one)

    Hi everyone! I'm Hailey ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm the cofounder of Growthmarketingpro.com - the largest growth marketing blog on the internet ๐Ÿš€

My partner Mark and I and built it into a 6-figure passive income business in 18 months with SEO alone (without spending a dollar on ads).

We recently launched an SEO tool called GrowthBar ๐ŸŒฑ growthmarketingpro.com/growthbar/ to help others do the same.

I'm here because we've got our first 70 paying customers for GrowthBar and we're in the weeds on a redesign and building something really exciting that no other SEO tool has done before -- we want to give back to the planet ๐ŸŒŽ by planting trees for every subscriber who signs up.

We're so excited about it and I'd love to chat with the community and get some feedback as we are making product decisions along this journey.

    Let's grow stuff together!
    xo

Hey Hailey! That's really awesome! I've been building a community of other business owners and makers focused on audience and growth. Thought you might be a really great fit http://viralwegrow.com/ :)

Oh HI! This is exciting. My name is Gabs and I'm from Lithuania.
I'm currently running the whole marketing department of an IT startup myself, figuring out how to build sucessfull strategies, build community surrounding app development and improve efficiently as I go. It's been pretty hard, but I find my way using google mnostly lol.

I am happy that I found this community, the best way to learn is with likeminded people help, right? โ˜บ๏ธ

So during work I do marketing, and off of it, I try to merge my extreme sports passion with marketing, produce engaging fun content, inspire women around the world to learn self defense and use their voice, as well push people to their limits and practise not overthinking stuff ๐Ÿ˜…

I do also love to dance, I'm super into dancehall, afrobeats, hip hop. I enjoy creating events, creating visual projects and just being on the move.

Hope too meet great people here ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿ’ป

In short, if you have a project or idea that involves dance, live performance, music, skiing, public speaking, marketing for a startup, marketing in B2B IT sector, application development - let me knowww. I am eager to learn and meet new people

I know this is very broad, I hope to narrow everything to few passions, but while I have the energy, I don't want to miss a lot ๐Ÿง—๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

    Cheers!

    Gabs

www.codecademy.com is a great place to start as it offers a lot of hand-holding to teach you the basics.

https://www.freecodecamp.org/ is a fantastic free site with a mix of code challenges in your browser and project challenges you have to go figure out on your own. It's honestly a very fun resource for learning.

Finally, you can't beat a classic YouTube video course.

Hey - I'm a long time entrepreneur in the deep tech space. I've spent most of my career working on solving hard technical problems in data analytics and selling to large enterprise customers. I've recently started a few prosumer focused companies and am looking for help learning how to promote and scale products to individuals. I'm looking forward to reading all the amazing information and diving into the community.

    1. 1

What is the deep tech you've been working on?

      1. 1

I spent 15 years building analytic databases (Vertica), then Big Data (Cloudera), and large scale log analytics (Rocana, which we sold to Splunk). It was pretty challenging and exciting going from "how do we do fast queries" on what was in 2005 a huge dataset of 1TB to "how do we predict outages or intrusion attempts on a global scale" at Rocana.

        1. 1

Wow that's really cool! Been making a community of other builders and think this may be useful to you for your new prosumer focus and scaling http://viralwegrow.com/

    Hi Everyone,

I am a software developer been working in the financial sector for four years now and would like to start working on some side projects. I've realized that is been a while since I worked on something I'm passionate about and am looking for inspiration to reignite that drive.

  13. 1

Hi everyone. My name is Brandon and I'm 26. I'm new to the tech world, but I've always been involved or around business/investing. I've got a long story about how I got to the the place I am in life, but I'll get into the full story another time. About a year ago, my best friend and I decided it was finally time to quit our jobs and get into business together. We talked about many ideas for a while and had dreams about building and creating large companies and investment portfolios, and use that to make the world a better place. We had to start somewhere, so we used each of our resources to start a company called Built-Mor Restoration (although, not the best timing with this pandemic). What we do is steam clean carpets, as well as clean flooded basements. Now, I know what you're thinking, what does that have to do with tech? Well, about 1 year before we decided to start Built-Mor, we were going to buy a storage facility, since we like that real estate asset class the best. We also tried acquiring one of the few in our town, but no one was interested in parting ways with theirs. We were now wondering how we could get into that industry as soon as we could, but without moving or attempting to manage a facility from another town or state. That's when https://StorageBuddy.io came to life.

https://StorageBuddy.io is a peer-to-peer rental marketplace, similar to Airbnb, but for storage. That could be an extra room, parking spot, warehouse, land, etc. We also offer the option for people to rent out their extra truck, box truck, trailer, etc. Neither of us are technical founders, and living in small town Kansas, there weren't many resources. Around the same time, I had a hand injury, boxing. It was actually a bruise on the bone and not a break, so it took over a year to heal. In that time, I researched tirelessly, and focused solely on this idea to keep myself busy. The only people that knew about the idea were my parents and best friend, who I'm in business with now.

During this process, I've bet on myself, with many enticing opportunities thrown my way. One I almost pulled the trigger on, by studying and taking my securities tests, in order to take over an older gentleman's asset management firm, which wold've made me $1.2 million a year at the time, managing roughly $50 million and providing other services. I've loved that industry and was always fascinated with investing. Even a great platform like that, with room to grow, something told me I wouldn't be able to give my full attention to StorageBuddy, which I believe could be bigger. It was tough to turn down, but simple at the same time.

Honestly, there's still a lot of things I don't know how to do, or even the questions to ask, but I hope to meet a lot of people, and get some feedback. As I learn more, I hope to return the favor.

Lastly, we recently added a pre-sell section to our website, which include future features and subscriptions to hosts and renters, for one upfront fee. This will help fund the next steps, like getting all the legal requirements finished, hopefully hire coders and other professionals to the team, as well as a web designer, because I know my website isn't very pretty. Here's the link: https://app.payhere.co/storagebuddy

Sorry for the long post, but feel free to give me constructive criticism. I don't want to get myself in trouble by doing something I'm not familiar with. I also know my pre-sell page could be worded better and have some more features, but the website I planned on using originally was outside my competence level right now, and was setting me back too long, so I used a less capable alternative for the time being.

My goal: Financial independence by 2024. Hi my name is Ben and I'm brand new to Indie Hackers. I have the same goal as a lot of others here -- financial independence. I define financial independence as working 12 hours or less per month. I plan to reach that goal by 2024 through web applications that generate revenue. I'm a frontend developer planning use to Firebase and similar products for the backend of my products. I'm working on a calendar product now and I have a few others in the queue in case the calendar one doesn't catch fire. I'm excited to see what others are doing as a way to aid motivation and gain insights.

Hi there. My name is Tiago. I'm a software engineer from Brazil.

I run a small one-person-company that builds SaaS and other types of applications. Currently, my main product is:

Rapid Mockup - An web application to simulate 3D designs for sublimation, serigraphy, and design professionals

And I'm building a new product and aim to launch it in the next few weeks

Vemto - A desktop application to help Laravel Developers start new applications and generate their code (I'm rewriting the landing page and will launch a new in some days)

I'm glad to be here and would like to learn with you.

Cheers and have a wonderful day!

Hey, I am Arun Sharma. I restarted my personal blog and stumbled here when googling for an answer. Indiehackers looks like nice community and I would like to be a part of it.

  17. 1

I've been designing a product that solves a really serious safety problem for a niche I'm involved in.
So far the feedback has been really excellent
And I'm looking for a technical partner. Someone who's in search of a cool - not very difficult - side project, with a lot of growth potential.

How's it going? My name is Anand. I'm product marketer that came from the product management route. I have two blogs going:

Textual Delight: Quick, easy-to-digest analysis on product positioning and messaging.

Startup Product Marketing: A resource with product marketing tips and advice for startups and founders. You have questions, I have answers.

I often read Indie Hacker interviews because I love hearing about other people's journeys and stories, but I never signed up to the join the community. My goal with Startup Product Marketing is to help answer the random product marketing, marketing and growth questions founders have. I've accumulated all of this knowledge and experience, so why not share it.

This is a community of startups and founders, probably with tons of questions. I'd love to help answer as many as I can.

Hey everyone! My name is Ade. I'm an iOS and web developer from Las Vegas, NV.
I've worked with several startups in the last 7 years, and now I've decided to start my own.

I lived in Taiwan for the past 3 years and during that time I did a lot of traveling. All the traveling motivated me to build a travel app that I'd been thinking about for years. One that I think would help travelers and non-travelers alike.

The app is called Graffiti Maps-Places Traveled, or just Graffiti for short. It's an app that allows you to share the cool places that you've been with your friends and family. The goal is to make a global community map that is all user generated content.

Here's the link to the website: https://graffitiapp.co/
And the iOS app link is: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/graffiti-social-location/id1383348851

I've learned a lot from working with various startups in the past and I hope I can share some advice with anyone who needs it.

Hi everyone, I'm Meklit, a creative director who mostly works with early stage consumer startups. I'm a tech junkie and after working with a bunch of founders, I decided I wanted to start my own thing but I didn't know what. So I'm crowdsourcing all my startup decisions including what product I build and sell. It's a transparent, zany adventure where we can all learn from each other and grow together. And hopefully turn a side project into a real company. You can learn more or join me here: ourdtcadventure.com

Howdy guys ๐Ÿฅณ Just call me Miller from Vietnam ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡ณ, a Software Engineer x Marketer.

I love the idea that a person can perform well in both of those fields. I verified it by starting up my accessories store from 0 to 30k followers on Facebook in 4 months which generated me 150$/day revenue for a year, then I switched to learn Android and ReactJs and got a well-paid job in an English speaking tech company 3 months later.

My goal is to combine my skills to build an app and marketing it to reach 1M downloads in the next year. I had my first product, an Android app that helps Vietnamese learn English through videos. You can check it out here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miller.engviddy

It's just an MVP that focuses on the core feature, but I did get the first 100 users by using an organic marketing channel after a month published it. I think it's quite promising, so I'm working with a designer to redesign it to bring more value before expanding marketing activities and scale.

I'm glad to find the IH community where I can read many stories to get inspiration and share my view with the community.

Hope that we can all learn, share, action, and grow up together ๐Ÿ’ช

    Stay tuned,
    Miller.

Hello! My name is Alexey Lvov, 30+ years old, Russia.

I was interested in IT since 10 y.o., learned a lot since then, but my last 7 years of career were in marketing. Finally I have tired of it and changed my direction to something in what I was always been interested in: gamedev.

Gamedev for me is integration of two completely different ways of thinking and perception: technological and mythological. I can practice with code, architecture and design, whilst also working at understanding the deeps of existence and life - and combine it in games and plots.

My framework is monthly motivational model: to be able to manifest milestones for a month, and then intentionally make them done.

Having solid marketing skills, I am also into photography, sports and webdev. I have websites, but they are temporarily in Russian only, so no sense to mention them now.

    My activities:

    • translating and publishing articles about programming, gamedev and game industry
    • creating small games (at least)

    Next goals:

    • to publish my first game on commercial basis

Hello, my name is Rafael, I am a Brazilian Chemical Engineer, and I am right at this moment closing a technology education business I started 3 years ago. We got to have 230 students in our bootcamp, most of them are currently finishing their studies, with 20+ of them are already employed as software developers. Unfortunately, we ran out of cash to fulfill our mission, so me and my cofounder are moving on.

I have great interest in getting back to work with python development, specifically applied to Natural Language Processing. I noticed some necessities on this sense in Brazil, which has a ridiculous amount of bureaucracy. I am currently testing a few approaches with OCR and NLP for document interpretation and classification, and we will soon start to sell this product to businesses.

I am very impressed by the quality of this community. Congratulations.

Hi. My name is Ruben. I am mostly a self taught developer as the degree I pursued never really covered what the industry is actually requires so I dropped out and started teaching myself. I work for probably one of the largest ed tech companies in the world. I went from a junior, knew nothing about development, to a team lead in just under three years. I still have a lot of imposter syndrome as a self taught developer.

Mostly here to learn. I try to consume as much information as I can. People tend to ask do you feel different when you have your birthday. I feel like I am really starting to understand myself only at 25 and what I want in life. Previous years was all dreams and just floating around, thinking I know what I am doing.

    Next steps in life:

    Work on my side income
Build something that I can share with the world under my own name.
get rid of the imposter syndrome

Hi everybody, I'm Mehdy and I'm living in France ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท (Baguette ?). I'm expert in everything and specialist in nothing ๐Ÿ™ƒ. I'm currently working on a community around Montessori method just here โžก๏ธ https://montessoritips.com/ , I decided to join indiehackers for one reason, this place is full of crazy people, everyone is building something. We are not talking about theory, we are talking about making on indiehackers.com that's why I like it.

Ps: Is there any french ?

    Hello,

My name is Taylor and I am looking to form a partnership with a tech founder on a small project that can help the world. It could probably take a week at most to build the project as I have already designed the layout. Feel free to DM me.

    Hi y'all,

long time digital, first time side hacker. I've been building a project (www.mobius.xyz) using a nocode stack (webflow, clicksend, zapier, stripe, airtable and outseta to name the major ones!) and am absolutely loving the journey.

I have come across a few stumbling blocks to getting our MVP in front of paying clients, so will definitely be reaching out to the wonderful community here to ask for guidance.

and of course once that is complete the real journey begins! i've been working in the B2B SaaS space for ~10 years, but the first one I've built myself so I'm actually less scared of the selling than the building! at least that's how I feel now

    yours in indie-ness,
    zac

    Good time of day!

My name is Roman. Came from St.Petersburg, Russia to nice Finnish city named Kotka in 2005 =) Started my business in 2007 doing niche software for logistics companies and stopped never since. This year I decided to pivot what I did into accounting software for small companies and now look to make it ready for launch.

    Thank you!

Hi, my name is Abrar and I'm originally from Bangladesh living in London for the past 7 years.
I love rock climbing and recently I bought a training plan from a climbing coach, and I realised how difficult it is for personal trainers to digitise their businesses. As a result, I've been working on a side project (www.jupiter.fit) to help personal trainers around the world digitise their businesses. Any feedback on my landing page will be much appreciated!

I'm working in a Product team in the financial services at the moment, and everything in the start up world is new to me. There's a lot I still have to learn, and I'm here to read and learn from the community as I go along.

Hi my name is Parker. I'm a largely self-taught software engineer currently building GetRecipeCart.com and recently started helping out with CovidDash.org to enlist volunteers in vaccination trials.

GetRecipeCart.com is a chrome/firefox extension that reformats and shows just-the-recipe at the top of any recipe website. It then parses the recipe ingredient data via an ML service I developed so that it can't be sent to grocery delivery API's. With all the recipes I'm collecting, I'm also building a recipe aggregator/search engine at getrecipecart.com/popular.

I also run an e-commerce side-business that does around $4K/month in revenue at 60% margin before tax. I'd rather not mention the name and it's not what I'm here for, but it has been a fun adventure into operations, product design, and SEO.

    1. 1

Congrats on building and managing three sites! I appreciate the idea behind GetRecipeCart. I've always wanted the entire recipe category of Pinterest turned into a single pic with the recipe card - nothing more. I'm curious, how do you get the 'Most Cooked' value?

      1. 1

thanks for the follow on IH, btw!

    Hi,

I'm JJ. I'm a python applications dev manager turned product manager with an MBA from a top b-school. While I have technical background, my interest areas are towards developing and growing a business, leveraging my knowledge and (strong) network.

I have an idea for an online business for which I want to build an MVP. I'm hoping to collaborate with some passionate developers from this community who can join hands with me.

Alternatively, I'm also open to join forces with technical founders if they need someone to boost business side of the things. (skill exchange perhaps? :) )

Looking forward to learn and collaborate.

Hi everyone! My name is Enrico, I'm 19 years old half italian-half portuguese living in Amsterdam and I'm excited to join the indiehackers community :)! I'm a Computer Science student at the Amsterdam Vu university. My 2 biggest passions are technology and music(music production). I always have been interested in entrerprenurship and I would really love to be able to create a business on the side that combines tech and music. I have no idea on what to do now but I guess this is the perfect place to gather a lot of ideas, also I really like A.I. so would be very cool to create something that combines A.I. with music. So my goal for this year is to try figure out what business/project idea I would like to create and if I can also start. I wish everyone a nice indie hackers journey :D!

Hi, my name is Ted. I'm a software developer from Kenya. Graduated with a degree in computer engineering, though most of my programming is self-taught. I'm a web developer, specializing in Django, for the backend and vue.js for the frontend. I'm currently employed but have a number of side projects that I hope will set me up for financial and personal freedom. The most interesting one is an online art gallery that I hope to share with the community here, as well as build a strong network of like-minded people. Apart from coding, I enjoy working out, reading, as well as hanging out. tngeene.com is my personal site, though I have neglected it for a while, haha. Head over there to know more about me.

    Hey everyone,

I'm Alex. I've been living to the Indie Hackers podcast off and on for a while now, and have decided that in 2021 I want to take the leap and start my own business. Whether that's as a side project, or a full-time thing, I'm not sure. I work as a software engineer so tech seems like the most promising angle but I don't want to rule anything out yet.

My next steps are to think hard about different problems that I or people I know are having, learn about different industries that I'm interested in, and brainstorm a list of projects that I'd be passionate about that might also generate revenue.

Looking forward to getting inspired by all the creative people here and building something cool :)

    Hi all,

This is exciting and also scary.
I'm a normal full-stack freelance software dev. This year I've realised how vulnerable my income is and how easy is to lose it.

So I just decided I should start to build some products of my own.
I don't know yet what they will be but I'm sure I want to spend some time to try build some.

I don't know what the first step should but I'm starting.

I plan to write here as a journal what is happening and how I progress.

    See you later

Hey there. I'm Blake Allsmith. I sold my venture-backed startup last summer and now my old CTO and his wife, and my wife and I (and our combined 8 kids!) are self-funding some new projects:

Boilerplate.legal - we've automated/streamlined startup incorporation, founder share allocation, board formation, IP assignment, blah blah blah - all of the legal stuff you need from formation to your first round of funding - including a beautiful data room, investor portal (to collect checks), and light weight cap table software. It's like Carta + Stripe Atlas + Legalzoom only really cheap and administered by a real lawyer. It's been a fun project and is a passion area of mine b/c I'm sick of seeing first time founders get taken advantage of on legal stuff.

Allsmith.org - there is where my wife and I have been creating content and coaching products for first time startup founders. We also have a podcast/youtube channelf for it.

I'm here b/c a) I like talking/learning about products, sales, and general startup stuff and b) I think I can be helpful to folks who are early on in the journey.

Thanks for letting me in - looking forward to getting know you all.

    Hi, my name is Joe.

I've been working in design for over a decade for startups, agencies, and a couple of fortune 500s. Covering roles from creative direction, UX, production design, PO, front-end dev, photographer, etc. Whatever it takes to get products from a problem seed to fully realized.

Currently at a large legacy financial services company as a UX/PO hybrid, where work isn't exciting but it pays the bills and presents some unique customer problems to solve for.

Anywho, I'm jumping in here to explore ideas and opportunities and chat with some like-minded folks.

Hope to talk with everyone soon.

Hi Indie Hackers fam, my name is Roberto, and I am the founder of Towards AI https://towardsai.net/p - a publication and open source contributor working to change how people learn about science, tech, and engineering. We have almost 1600 contributors, ranging from professors, industry experts, Ph.D., and ms researchers to enthusiasts and receive around 3m visits per year.

I am still trying to figure out how to monetize what we do there, as I am trying to stay away from putting ads all over the sites - so it's an iterating learning process with lots of changes along the way.

Daniel Vassallo brought me to Indie Hackers, and I am excited to learn more about this community, learn more from all of you, and hopefully make an impact to help other founders along the way.

    Cheers!

    Roberto

Hey, I'm Mike. I'm a coder, author, and entrepreneur. Currently, I'm working on an author-focused saas with my husband (also an author and a graphic designer). We've learned a ton in the last year in research, surveying, and the early stages of building, and now that we're finally closing in on a launch date, I'd like to start posting what we got wrong and right.

  75. 1

Thank you for your welcome note Rosie!

My name is Arthur and I've been pondering on an idea for a while to resolve a specific issue I've noticed for almost any sales person out there. In the last few months I've had quite some traction from potential investors and other professionals looking for me to bring this idea to life. I'm a business-tech person lacking technical skills and a technical co-founder.

Thanks to a nice heads-up from a contact, I found out about Indie Hackers and I'm always keen on learning new things of and through other's experiences (as well as sharing my own).

My objective is to finalize my concept and meet with a co-founder who's up for the challenge. The first stage is to set up a POC to present to the investors in the first quarter of 2021 so that we can move to a first funding round.
I look forward to discussing ideas and brining them to life together with the community.

    Cheers to all the visionaries,
    Arthur

Hi, I'm Calum! I'm a UK based, self-taught developer, aspiring to make the carer change from working part time as a carer, and teaching people how to make cocktails (Yeah, its a contrast I know!) to Web Development.

One of my main passions with web-development is to create web-pages which are accessable to those with disabilities, and those with limited technological ability. I think it is important to account for the people in society who may otherwise be forgot about.

My journey has been an interesting one, I have encountered more than a few difficulities on the way, I have had days with imposter syndrome breathing down my neck and questioning my ability, and days where I have felt like a technoligcal genius (Usually when fixing a simple bug, we all get that don't we?)

I am currently making the transition from turning the exposure of information I have aquired along the way through "tutorial hell", and applying it on small little projects. It's a stark change but one I'm finding very enjoyable!

I am here as I am looking for a community that I can feel a part of, as it is a big ocean with many fish of different varieties.

I hope I can make this my pond.

I'd love to chat with anyone else here, especially if you're in the UK!

    Hi Rosie, hi community,

My name is Martin and contrary to most of you (as far as I browsed until now) I am not a developer. I know my way around basic coding but I am far from being proficient.

Nevertheless, I find the whole premise of indiehacking extremely fascinating and am currently dabbling into meaningful posters for couples at thingstodoforyou.com ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

I am mainly looking for a community to keep myself accountable as well as potentially getting some feedback (if you are willing to share your thoughts with me, I would be ecstatic.

Hello all! My name is Laura and I'm based in the U.S. My team and I just launched vigtec (vigtec.io), a new mobile and web app that helps anyone, with any experience level, use algorithms to find investment success. A good way to think about it is if Spotify, Medium, and Yahoo Finance had a baby.

I'm currently working on crafting an effective marketing and advertising mix for the product. In the past, I've done marketing for everything from restaurants and dog daycares, to HR technology and space management solutions. However, I've never marketed a mobile/web app before. I'm sure many on here might agree with me that the marketing and advertising landscape has changed quite a bit, even over the last few years. My goal over the next few months is to gain a full grasp of these changes and solidify a mix of strategies that'll help us scale our user growth to a level that'll enable us to seek out a Series A.

I'm very excited to connect with fellow members, share experiences, exchange ideas, learn, and hopefully help some people along the way!

    Hi,
I'm Divyanth Jayaraj (32, M) , a software engineer from Bengaluru, India. I joined indie-hackers because I was fired from my job as a software developer at a company I loved and cared about. Having met all of my financial obligations and then some; and having worked for more than six years in total (2 in this company), I have finally decided to break out of the pattern of getting hired and getting fired in software companies.

The biggest problem I face as an employee and in general, is that I am an aspie and don't comform to traditional social norms. Although I struggle with socializing, building and maintaining relationships, I have the ability to learn things and hyper-focus to get difficult tasks done. As you can see, it is this ability that let me find all those jobs in the first place. Now, as someone who has no idea what an "aspie" is, you might be thinking that it's just a case of not having social skills; and that my problems can be solved simply by learning them. To that, my answer is this; Learning social skills is what led me to stay at this job for two whole years. No matter how much I overcame my aspie nature and "learned" social skills, getting fired is an eventuality for me. Maybe, I'll last for 3 years the next time I improve my social skills. Maybe it's 4 or even 5. To me, extending the timer on the ticking bombs that I have for jobs is only worth it, so far. Now that I've put myself in a luxurious financial position where I can last for about a year without a job and then cash out my investments for the rest of my life if I could live frugally, I have decided that the time to break out of this cycle is NOW.

I have a number of options as to what I could do, some of which include being an indie hyper-casual game developer or being crypto trader.

I'm hoping to find inspiration and new ideas on indiehackers.

    Hi

My name is Madhan, co-founded number of saas startups and saas inbound marketer. My saas startups are myreviewninja.com, coldemailninja.com,signaturehero.com and two are under development. All of my saas makes 5k-12k MRR and fully depending on organic inbound leads. Love this community and want to learn from you guys and give back by sharing my growth strategies. I also have a book SAAS inbound bible, which became best selling book for a week in Amazon.in. my book did Ok in sales but I didn't promote as much as I should. Maybe I am not passionate on book promotion or something. Most of our saas got lots of sales and demo from our content focused on customer pain points like how to get reviews on vitals.com site, and doctors signup with us. Similarly my coldemailninja focused on helping Marketing agency pain points. We are getting agency sign-ups. I'm excited and sharing my thoughts. But will keep you posted more. Love you all. I'm from Tamilnadu, India and the same place where Freshworks, Zoho, kissflow, etc born.

I am Ikhtiyor and I am a backend developer based in Netherlands. Here I want to get motivation to focus and keep building awesome things.

    Good luck everyone!

    Hi fellow Indie hackers!

My name is bash and I am a frontend developer currently based in Prague.

For a few years now, I have wanted to start working on my own product / business but I kept procrastinating by saying that I don't have "a good enough" idea to build and that since I have to work full time, I wouldn't have enough time. I discovered indie hackers earlier this year but I postponed signing up, thinking that I would do so when I finally have something to show. But I decided now that I am not waiting any longer.

The biggest challenge for me is to stay focused. Even though I wanted to start in the past, I didn't want to stop any of the other things that I worked on in my spare time (my blog https://bash.lk, home automation, travel) I kept thinking that I could juggle all of them at once but that never really worked. So from today, I will focus only on this, because I really value being able to work on my own projects and owning my work and having more freedom over my time so that I can take longer time off to travel / do new things.

I still don't know exactly what I am going to build but I have been learning recently that it is better to start with an audience rather than an idea. So I am going to put my list of ideas aside and start keeping an eye on spaces where developers (specifically react/frontend developers) hang out to find what they struggle with and see if I can build something to help them.

With all that said, I look forward to being a part of this great community!
