I'm looking to get a better understanding of sales and improve my sales skills. What are some books or resources you would recommend I read? I would also appreciate it if you could share any sales tips you have.
Check out "The Secrets of Closing the Sale" on Audible. It's a Zig Ziglar book and he's kind of a legend to listen to. Sales best practices from the door to door era but the lessons are timeless.
I red "How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carneige. It is really old but I my opinion the best starting point for sales people.
Also "Real Sales Advantage" - by Dale Carnegie & Associates.
'Client Machine' - by George Athan
Currently, I'm reading "To Sell is Human" and it's quite good so far.
Predictable Revenue & Question Based Selling were my two favorites. I'm probably not up-to-date on the latest ones though.
But no book can teach you what a few months doing cold calls can. It will break a salesperson and build him/her up at the same time. Fun times.

"You Can't Teach A Kid To Ride A Bike At A Seminar" -David Sandler
I'd recommend The Challenger Sale and Predictable Revenue.
