How about you @csallen, what are you working on this weekend? :)

  2. 3

I spent this weekend working on the documentation for Sitesauce though I ended up spending most of my time on designing the documentation and not a lot on actually writing it ๐Ÿ˜…

Still, I think the design turned out pretty nice, here's a Twitter thread I made about it if you're curious.

  3. 3

Getting my IH mobile app Moon ready for private beta testing!

  4. 3

I've made a website for my app Pinc. It's available here https://pinc.xyz ๐Ÿ™‚
Feedback and ideas are welcome ๐Ÿคฉ

    1. 1

How did you do the on scroll animations, custom or library?

      1. 1

It's built with Webflow and adding animation like that is very easy - just a few clicks.

        1. 1

Nice, considering using webflow sometime soon, more of a developer myself but I've seen non stop youtube ads about it xD

  5. 3

Trying to help indie hackers find problems to solve by getting more people to share their pains on

        Thanks for joining!
If you ever see anything that starts 'I wish there was a way..' please send them to the sub :)

    2. 1

Great sub, I just joined too

I am finally getting my newsletters in order. I am basically going to write as many of them as I can right now. Anticipating the ebb and flow of upgrades, holidays, inputs, contests, etc. That way I have more time to create the actual business moves and less having to deal with worrying how I will advertise. I also put the advertisement out for my event that I am running for my app. More sales lead creation.

  7. 2

Converting my WordPress portfolio to GatsbyJs, proving interesting :p

  8. 2

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm learning Ruby on Rails. If you got any good materials to learn from, let me know :)

    1. 1

I did the same about six months ago. Treehouse have a really good course, highly recommend!

  9. 2

naijagov.org - planning to setup a proper sprint cadence for collaboration with the development team being assembled. Re-define the user stories on the backlog and continue to take baby steps.

  10. 2

Trying to make sense of the data I've collected from the beta users that tested my apps the past two days. It's definitely a learning process. if anyone has any tips regarding analyzing a firebase database feel free to share them :)

  11. 2

Finishing up testing of a new tax loss harvesting tool for CryptoTrader.Tax! Cutting it a bit close, but we are trying to have it ready and promote it in time before the new year.

  12. 2

Finding Ad leads for two new publishers so we can attempt to make some newsletter writers some money this week!

  13. 2

I will be sharpening knives, so to speak.

I like to improve (or add features to) my application stack. It allows me to do better on the next project. I enjoy doing this.

This weekend I will be getting rid of messy DynamoDB interactions in my backend stack and replacing them with pynamodb, which Iโ€™ve found to be a pleasure to work with so far.

  14. 2

Setting up in-app purchases in Brooklet for the premium features. Those are goals, correlations, and statistics.

    1. 1

Is this built on ios and Android using Flutter or both native ?

      1. 1

        React Native

  15. 2

My product relies on a bunch of data points gathered from various websites, most of which donโ€™t provide APIs, so Iโ€™m building up web scrapers to automate the collection of data for me. Goal is to have all of the first iterations wrapped up by end of Sunday.

Nice! I had never built one before so I'm just glad it's been a fun (and successful) learning experience for me!

Yeah if you end up going down the Python route, definitely check out BeautifulSoup. It's been very useful for me so far. Best of luck!

            1. 1

Have you considered Scrapy? https://scrapy.org/ I played with it some time ago and it's quite easy to get started.
And to make your life easier with extracting data using XPath or CSS it's worth looking at:
              https://selectorgadget.com/
              https://autonomiq.io/chropath/.

              1. 1

I downloaded some Chrome extension that automatically gives me the XPath of whatever object my mouse is hovering over, which has saved me a ton of time ("XPath Helper" is what I think it's called). I haven't looked at Scrapy, but I ended up using Selenium + BeautifulSoup since the websites I wanted to scrape were difficult for standard web scraping.

  16. 1

    I'm working on testing notifications

On a whim I decided to make a new version of The Listserve - if you haven't heard of it, it was a wonderful social experiment started by some NYU grads.

The concept was brilliantly simple - a mailing list where each day a subscriber was picked at random and given the chance to email the entire list (25k people by the end). So each day you would receive an email from a complete stranger about whatever they wanted to write about - sometimes sad, sometimes funny, sometimes powerful.

Sadly it shut down last year so I thought I would try to start a new version.

  24. 1

Working on integrating a referral program for the Album Daily newsletter!

  36. 1

I am building a full stack product from the ground up, mostly for practice, it has no validation eg. people would pay for it/no one is expecting it.(I won't get this done in the weekend though, too much to do/changing priorities but next week have some time off).

There is a small market for it but definitely a niche thing. But yeah mostly a tech practice thing for me, and arguable some parts of it you don't need to do anymore "nowadays" eg. doing your own password hashing with bcrypt etc... but it's good for me, transitioning stacks.(came from LAMP now using PERN)

I acknowledge the shallow depth being wide-scoped("full stack") but that's how I've been all this time, granted day job mostly a front-ender.

  37. 1

Building a statistic site with MERN stack, for the purpose of learning MERN stack in details.

Looking at making a black Friday deal/plan for https://versoly.com/ something that IHs could use for early validation as $15 is a lot early on for a one page website with a form.

    • Working out is it worth it
    • Pricing
    • Code changes
    • Marketing
    • Talking with potential customers

Would love to speak to anyone who has made a early access/beta landing page or plans to :)
