How are you currently growing your SaaS product? I'm kind of at a loss now on how to promote and market my product.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Honestly, the thing that's working best for me right now isn't anything fancy - it's just showing up consistently on platforms where my audience already hangs out.
I write answers on Quora, publish articles on Medium, and post pins on Pinterest. No paid ads, no automation, no growth hacks. Just content that actually addresses problems people are searching for.
The key insight for me was to stop thinking about "marketing" and start thinking about "where are people already asking questions that my product answers." Then I just go there and help. Not pitch, not link-drop - just give a real answer. The traffic follows.
It's slow. I won't pretend it isn't. But the people who come through organic content engage way more than any paid channel I've tested. My referral traffic has a 73% engagement rate, which is higher than anything I ever got from ads.
If you're at a loss, I'd start with one platform where your ideal users are already active, and commit to posting there every single day for 30 days. Pick Quora, Reddit, or even niche communities like this one. Don't try to be everywhere at once. Just go deep on one channel first.
Honestly Shirley, we’ve all been there. That feeling of building something great but then staring at a flat line on the analytics dashboard is the worst. When I hit a wall like this, I usually stop trying to 'market' and just start talking to people. One thing that really changed the game for me was Manual Outreach. It’s boring and slow, but searching for people on Twitter or LinkedIn who are literally complaining about the problem you solve works wonders.
Also, don't sleep on Directory launches. Beyond Product Hunt, getting listed on smaller niche directories can give you that initial SEO boost and a steady trickle of users.
Indie Hackers itself has been hugely successful for me. Honest, transparent content on what works for you and what doesn't.
Thanks! I will learn more about how you guys write your posts.
SaaS marketing strategies need a specific approach, given the unique nature of SaaS products. Besides simply being intangible, SaaS products are also primarily subscription-based, creating the need to continuously prove their worth. Here are a couple of ideas to incorporate in your SaaS marketing strategies:
Create an impeccable website before driving traffic;
Establish expert credibility and build a community in your niche;
Place huge emphasis on SEO;
Clearly demonstrate how your product is different (it's no secret that the SaaS market is oversaturated);
Prioritize brand awareness and brand integrity - SaaS customers rarely commit to a product that they haven't heard of;
(Ideally) offer a Freemium pricing plan / Free trial plan;
Create informative, personalized product demos;
Make sign-ups as easy as possible;
Clearly map out every stage of the customer journey;
Cultivate and repurpose customer testimonials and reviews. The SaaS community pays close attention to real users’ experiences.
These are all pretty straightforward tips for creating a successful SaaS marketing strategy, but in reality, it's much more complex and tricky.
Last year, a friend’s SaaS was growing steadily but plateaued at 500 sign-ups. She reached out to https://www.highervisibility.com/, and they recommended a custom blend of franchise-style SEO and niche PPC, all orchestrated through their TGS framework. Within two quarters her monthly leads doubled and churn dipped by 15%
Have you tried Affiliate market places like Reditus (https://www.getreditus.com/?gr_pk=870D&gr_uid=GYjG). They are a little more geared to Saas type businesses.

There's many possibilities and it depends a lot on the business itself but I personally go for that when marketing for launch:
Inbound Content Creation: Focus on viral content with several channels omni-platforms (Youtube shorts, Tiktok, Facebook Reels, Instagram Reels -> highest viral potential). All those sub channels redirect to the main channel which redirects to the landing page. Always focus on either story telling or riding the trends (inspired from contextual advertising strategies from Ryan Reynolds)
Outbound List building: Manual outreach to build a list that started 3 months ago and we still haven't launched (beta launch on Feb). As we have an AI tool, we spot where the people interested in AI are congregated and directly reach out from there. For example, insta influencer talking about AI they often promote AI tools and we see the interested people in the comment section and directly go and reach out.
Friends & Network: Critical for first review and building first traction
All those above should serve to build your community and should redirect to some channel on Slack/Discord/community platform to keep people updated.
Thanks for your sharing!

Thanks John!
Sharing a success in growth hacking thro social network for very raw concept testing. You don't always need to spend a lot of money on ads or survey tools to get feedback or engagement. >1,000 sign-ups in a few days. 😊 Read the strategy here --> shorturl_dot_at/aBJU9
But the link doesn't work.
hi @Shirley9606, replace the dot with . will make it work
special thanks to @gabzzllaa
Thanks, I will check it out.
My strategy so far is to post educational content on Reddit and X for my target audience and link my landing page.
Posts on Reddit can easily be judged as spam, even though our landing page link is not included.
Content distribution. Simply posting a new marketing example on The Growth Archive and then distributing different versions of it on different social media platforms where my target audience hangs out. For example, SaaS marketing Facebook groups will be the short-form version and r/entrepreneur Reddit is long form..
Got it, thanks!
The first part will be reaching your ICP in their natural habitat
Thanks!
Find ICP (ideal customer profile) reach them personally via Linkedin, get some feedback, and make them users. Make some launches on related communities, and do some lead generation with email marketing. Finally, you can give some ads to social media to rach mass as well.
Okay, got it! Thanks!
No secrets. Set your target audience and touch them wherever/whenever they are.
Thanks!
Direct reach out via email/Linkedin is what works best for us. Volume negates luck!
Thanks!
It's really a big question. I have tried sooo many social media methods , and wanna share with other marketers :
"For big team, try everything including ads, it will save your time"
"For small team, don't start with SEO, try to do some content marketing ,build you own ip on Youtube/Twitter, cold email is also a good choice:) Invest some at the beginning, collab with some KOLs or newsletter. Don't pay for any ads except google's brand name keywords ads."
I haven't tried cold email yet. How to do this? Thanks!
I have a b2b product, that's why my plans are making cold emails and reaching out from linkedin, instagram etc. Also for seo wrote 1-2 blog posts. (I have 5 users, 1 active user. Launched almost 1 months ago)
But isn’t it a waste of time to contact them one by one? What I am thinking about is which platform or what are the ways can I use to expose my products to get more users.
I don't have any platform for that. this is my first marketing adventure.
Marketing is hard. I just decided to take a brake to think and make a research what people need and in which direction to grow.
Agree!
