What are your marketing strategies for your SaaS project?

How are you currently growing your SaaS product? I'm kind of at a loss now on how to promote and market my product.

    Last year, a friend’s SaaS was growing steadily but plateaued at 500 sign-ups.     SaaS marketing strategies need a specific approach, given the unique nature of SaaS products. Besides simply being intangible, SaaS products are also primarily subscription-based, creating the need to continuously prove their worth. Here are a couple of ideas to incorporate in your SaaS marketing strategies:

    • Create an impeccable website before driving traffic;

    • Establish expert credibility and build a community in your niche;

    • Place huge emphasis on SEO;

    • Clearly demonstrate how your product is different (it's no secret that the SaaS market is oversaturated);

    • Prioritize brand awareness and brand integrity - SaaS customers rarely commit to a product that they haven't heard of;

    • (Ideally) offer a Freemium pricing plan / Free trial plan;

    • Create informative, personalized product demos;

    • Make sign-ups as easy as possible;

    • Clearly map out every stage of the customer journey;

    • Cultivate and repurpose customer testimonials and reviews. The SaaS community pays close attention to real users’ experiences.

    These are all pretty straightforward tips for creating a successful SaaS marketing strategy, but in reality, it's much more complex and tricky.

    Have you tried Affiliate market places like Reditus (https://www.getreditus.com/?gr_pk=870D&gr_uid=GYjG). They are a little more geared to Saas type businesses.

    There's many possibilities and it depends a lot on the business itself but I personally go for that when marketing for launch:

    1. Inbound Content Creation: Focus on viral content with several channels omni-platforms (Youtube shorts, Tiktok, Facebook Reels, Instagram Reels -> highest viral potential). All those sub channels redirect to the main channel which redirects to the landing page. Always focus on either story telling or riding the trends (inspired from contextual advertising strategies from Ryan Reynolds)

    2. Outbound List building: Manual outreach to build a list that started 3 months ago and we still haven't launched (beta launch on Feb). As we have an AI tool, we spot where the people interested in AI are congregated and directly reach out from there. For example, insta influencer talking about AI they often promote AI tools and we see the interested people in the comment section and directly go and reach out.

    3. Friends & Network: Critical for first review and building first traction

    4. All those above should serve to build your community and should redirect to some channel on Slack/Discord/community platform to keep people updated.

    7. Influencer Marketing:

      • Identify influencers in your industry and collaborate with them to promote your product. Influencers can help you reach a larger audience and build trust.

      • Encourage your existing customers to refer others by implementing a referral program. Offer incentives such as discounts, free trials, or other perks for successful referrals.

    My strategy so far is to post educational content on Reddit and X for my target audience and link my landing page.

      Posts on Reddit can easily be judged as spam, even though our landing page link is not included.

    Content distribution. Simply posting a new marketing example on The Growth Archive and then distributing different versions of it on different social media platforms where my target audience hangs out. For example, SaaS marketing Facebook groups will be the short-form version and r/entrepreneur Reddit is long form..

    Find ICP (ideal customer profile) reach them personally via Linkedin, get some feedback, and make them users. Make some launches on related communities, and do some lead generation with email marketing. Finally, you can give some ads to social media to rach mass as well.

    It's really a big question. I have tried sooo many social media methods , and wanna share with other marketers :

    "For big team, try everything including ads, it will save your time"

    "For small team, don't start with SEO, try to do some content marketing ,build you own ip on Youtube/Twitter, cold email is also a good choice:) Invest some at the beginning, collab with some KOLs or newsletter. Don't pay for any ads except google's brand name keywords ads."

    I have a b2b product, that's why my plans are making cold emails and reaching out from linkedin, instagram etc. Also for seo wrote 1-2 blog posts. (I have 5 users, 1 active user. Launched almost 1 months ago)

      But isn’t it a waste of time to contact them one by one? What I am thinking about is which platform or what are the ways can I use to expose my products to get more users.

        I don't have any platform for that. this is my first marketing adventure.
