What do you think of my UI?
This is the dashboard and simple flow of my newest product other.link. The first version/release is just going to be a url shortener. But with plans to expand it to much more down the line, including those link landing pages (like linktree) and gear collection pages (like kit[.]co)
It's been a little over a month of working on the SLC (simple, lovable, complete) version of the product, and I am almost ready for the first users!!
What do you think of the user interface and user flow?
Do you use a url shortener? If so, what features/analytics are your favorite?

Is very inconsistent.
It's like that episode of the Simpsons when Homer, shoot makeup for Marge...on her face...
Is not aligned, you need more white space, let it breathe, use color for a purpose, not for decoration...
What part do you think is inconsistent?
Which is not aligned? Everything is aligned on my end. And there is already tons of white space
@Michael_Andreuzza has a high standard for design (he makes these templates after all). And I guess I do too since I critique his work 🤣

More specifically, the colors do not feel cohesive. Changing from a blue to an orange on the button hover doesn’t really make sense. I feel like the yellow you use elsewhere and the button orange are supposed to go together, but they don’t feel similar enough to me. Same with the blue links button in the top left and the tags that say other and demo. And then you have the bright and vivid green notifications. Again, it doesn’t feel cohesive and consistency is what matters.
For alignment, check out the popup. The icon circle is not aligned with the input box, which is not aligned with the customized shortlink, which is not aligned with the more options, which is not aligned with the x close button, etc.
It feels like a bootstrap site. Very default, very generic.
Personally, I don’t like the icons.

But quite frankly! Nothing I said really matters. Because you don’t need stunning design. You just need to look average—bootstrap, if you will.
I’m very critical when people ask me to be or when the design truly matters (like selling designed templates).
Sure, you won’t be winning any design awards, but I think it looks fine. Heck, it looks great compared to the many developer projects I’ve seen.
Don’t let the feedback be a downer! Just keep on making cool stuff 😄

Product feedback. Kinda cool, I made my own with a json file and was too lazy to build a UI around it 😂 so your UI looks a lot better than mine. I’m never going to pay a subscription, so I’m never going to use your product. But uh, don’t let that stop you!

I am using Tailwind CSS instead of bootstrap, and I too am not the biggest fan of the icons either. I plan on finding a different icon collection to use in the future :)
The orange/yellows are exactly the same, and they are only used in the 2 places.
I understand what you are saying about the button color switching so "dramatically". It can be off putting. My goal for them was to use the primary and secondary colors for the site (which are complimentary on the color wheel)
As for the blue color for the buttons, navigation, and tags:
The nav and buttons are the same color, and the tags are intentionally a different color to give some separation. Would you recommend making them all lighter or the darker color?

The orange/yellows don’t feel like they go together. Maybe it’s because text usually doesn’t have colored shadows.
For button/tag colors, look into creating and trying more secondary button styles and maintaining a good hierarchy, e.g. you usually only want one CTA per page
