What's everybody working on this weekend?

Weekend hackers! What's everybody working on this weekend? Share a link and a brief description of your project below. Also, if you see something particularly cool in the comments, toss them an upvote! ๐Ÿ˜™

  1. 10

I'm working on changes to our newsletter that help it drive more conversions to our subscription product IH+. I'm also doing a lot of internal comms with the team to make sure all the writers are aligned with writing content that drives more conversions.

For years we've overextended ourselves with a bunch of different Indie Hackers projects that didn't necessarily contribute to a single unified goal (e.g. the Products database, more or less random social media posts, IH discussion groups, standalone newsletter series, etc etc), and now we're finally narrowing our focus and executing on the few projects that will deliver the biggest impact.

    1. 3

I use the products database often. I prefer the old community-like format more than the current editorial/media direction that IH seems to be taking. Will respect your choices for your product in any case.

      1. 1

I use the products database often.

Nice. A lot of the stuff in there is very outdated. We figuring out how to deal with that.

I prefer the old community-like format more than the current editorial/media direction that IH seems to be taking

Understandable. Only one of these formats leads to profitable businesses ;)

        1. 1

Yes, that's what I figured. Good luck.

    2. 2

Sounds exciting Channing! Looking forward to what you're going to implement.

    3. 2

Good stuff! What do the newsletter changes entail?

๐Ÿ”ฅ It wasn't last weekend but we've recently made an update to storypitch.ai that generated many more paid users!

Storypitch is an AI + Human storytelling platform built with a decade-long agency expertise to craft your powerful pitch, pitch deck copy, and other content.ย

To further perfect their content, our users can request a human expert review of their copy and include any instruction for the expert to follow.

This weekend, Iโ€™m working on a small side project: "()", a lightweight to-do list app that prioritizes tasks based on your energy levels and time of day. I'm experimenting with a super simple UX and using React on the frontend and Firebase for real-time updates. Iโ€™ll be posting the MVP soon! ๐Ÿš€

I am working on launching and promoting Principles, a pack of 22 premium, HD smartphone wallpapers featuring beautiful background images of space, nature and urban life overlaid with simple, powerful life principles.

This has been my launch list thus far:

    • Posts and videos on X

    • Video on YouTube

    • Product Hunt

    • Hacker News

    • Indie Hackers (once I unlock special privileges ๐Ÿ˜Š)

    • Reddit

    • Figma Community

  5. 4

๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm working on https://orchetta.com/ - specifically, adding the ability to prioritise improvements to a customer journey.

Orchetta helps you to monitor your customer journeys, map insights and opportunities along the journey and track your progress improving them.

I'm thinking about using Sean Ellis's ICE (impact, confidence, effort) framework for prioritisation after such an excellent podcast ep on Lenny's Podcast.

  6. 3

Working on Xylect .app (I can't post links)

It's a one-click AI-search app for Mac, and it works in every app! Think of it as bringing Perplexity to all other apps.

    1. 2

Nice, I'll probably give this is a shot! Wonder if it plays well with apps like Google Play Books that have their own tooltip features when you select text?

  7. 3

    Thanks Courtland!

This weekend, I'm launching my side project (150+ curated social media tools), Social Media Growth, on Product Hunt and would love any support!

    1. 2

Good stuff! The design is very nice. Upvoted on PH.

    2. 1

Hey Bren! I was meaning to upvote but it says it has not yet launched. I'll try to remember to come back later. The tool looks cool! Good luck with your launch.

I just joined the forum because I discovered the concept of Indie Hacking yesterday, and it felt like the universe was guiding me in this direction. I have an idea for a SaaS business model (essencially a CRM app with integration with other functions). To summarize, I work as a gardener, and while doing my job, I often have a lot of time to think. My boss's business faces several management challenges, from daily work organization to handling customer payments and complaints.

I was considering developing software (CRM) that would serve as an all-in-one solution for customers, the business owner (my boss), and clients. However, I lack the programming skills to bring this idea to life. For that reason, Iโ€™ve started exploring free (NOCODE) tools that might assist me. If that doesnโ€™t work out, Iโ€™m thinking of using ChatGPT to help me build the app from scratchโ€”bold, I know!

One challenge I face is the concern of potentially wasting time if I invest too much effort into this. I want to get a beta version up and running as soon as possible to see if I can gain traction with my boss and other gardening companies. Letโ€™s see how it goes.

Keep up the great work, have a great weekend everyone!

No link yet, but I'm building an app to make your AI prompts better. It will recursively use AI to modify your prompts and then evaluate and compare the results. You can come in and provide your subjective thoughts to help guide it and make it better. The end result is you can start with a crappy prompt, but eventually end up with an amazing prompt, with very little work on your end.

  10. 2

I've launched an ad-free TV Remote app with cast and screen mirror features for iOS Check my bio to try and give me feedback , I'm so excited to hear ^^

  11. 2

AI workouts focused on handstands: https://handstandquest.com

Planning and execution with AI assistance: https://plans.quest

AI scribe for all platforms, languages, voice transcription on device and server side, templating, summary generation / analysis and automated actioning: Scribe Quest. No website yet.

Most recently, exploring building a new product for the remarkable device

    1. 1

Your products are great. But for some reason I think the word 'quest' is not engaging for users. May be replace handstandquest.com with a domain name of single word with 4-5 letters.

  12. 2

I'm working on a micro-SaaS for business owners that pay themselves with owner draws - ownerdrawpaystub.com

  13. 2

    Working on: todayhasbeen.com

It's a journalling service (inspired by Ohlife) that works entirely over WhatsApp. No app to download, no registration required.

Would love indiehacker's community's feedback. And, if you're exploring doing something around WhatsApp, happy to help.

    1. 1

that's awesome, I'm a huge fan of note taking apps :)

    1. 1

Nice! Will it be a free API?

      1. 1

The plan is to offer a free tier and in the future a daemon that you can run in your infrastructure if you buy the DB from us.

  16. 2

I've been putting the finishing touches on my WordPress plugin, Raffle Leader. It's been a lot of work, but we are finally live!

So now that it's live, I've begun the marketing process. I wrote and scheduled our cold emails, sent out tons of LinkedIn cold DMs, started working with our designer on PH materials, began scraping Google maps for in-person outreach, and replied to Quora and Reddit posts!

Just a landing page right now but working on an AI powered tool to turn any prompt into professional well written presentation slides. Looking for validation here and any features you'd like to see :)

Thanks Courtland! Iโ€™ve been working on an AutoFill extension for chrome named QuickForm. Itโ€™s super useful for testers, developers, and anyone who fills out forms a lot for work. This past week, Iโ€™ve mainly been focused on improving the SEO for the project. I also added a search feature to quickly find profiles and finally finished fixing a bug with autofilling custom select components from popular UI libraries.

  28. 1

I'm late to the thread, but I am currently researching tools for validating if topics have an audience on social media apps. It's basically like trending hashtags but my purpose is to gain more awareness before taking another leap with an idea that I struggled to target anyone with anything related due to being such a niche subject.

So the side project is trying to not reinvent the wheel and discover what tools can handle what I need to accomplish

  29. 1

I spend my weekends working on my new newsletter! plentyofroom . beehiiv. com (I can't post links yet)
I talk about molecular machines, summarizing cool papers for the busy scientists who have no time to sift through the recent literature :D And in the meantime I improve my writing skills and learn how to run a newsletter!

  30. 1

    Hi
I've just launched my first personal project. It's name is KoolTalent - a platform that helps everyone review, suggest, or find new channels or KOLs on social networks.

The idea is that when you join a social network, you want to discover useful channels or KOLs to follow while avoiding scammers or low-quality content. However, reviewing content takes a lot of time, so you need someone to suggest or review it for you. Additionally, you may need a trusted platform (like Trustpilot) that allows users to rate channels or KOLs, helping others learn about their content. In my opinion, this platform is very useful.

This is my first MVP version, and I'd be glad to hear your feedback or suggestions about the project. Thanks! Nam

  31. 1

I'm thrilled to share my recent project, SEO AI(https://seoai.run/), with everyone! This tool focuses on optimizing keyword detection to enhance website visibility. I'd love to hear what others are working on as well!

  32. 1

    Hi Indie Hackers!

I've forked Rockbox, an open-source jukebox originally designed for digital music players like iPods, Archos, Cowon, iriver ... and transformed it into a music player server. I'm planning to add streaming capabilities and a new UI (for web and desktop), which Iโ€™ll be working on soon.

  33. 1

    First time posting here.

I'm working on a Chrome Extension that saves you up to 25% on Airbnb properties. It finds you the direct booking link as you browse on Airbnb so you can avoid Airbnb's guest fees. It's Rakuten/Honey for Airbnb.

It doesn't work for all properties as most of them are owned by small operators, but it works on ~20% of properties.

    Here's the link: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/airdeals-easy-airbnb-deal/pjabkaaallcnadkdcpjhagabbiaipkhh?authuser=0&hl=en

Give it a shot and let me know what you think.

  34. 1

I am working on appshopp.co and jobsy.ai. For updates, follow me on twitter (www.x.com/b22yz).

  35. 1

    Iโ€™m building print2social.com

It turns print-on-demand product images into social media posts. Connects to Printful (for now), pulls the products, generates lifestyle photos featuring people wearing / using the product, which is then used to generate an engaging post for a Facebook page (for now).

Every product has own pipeline, for now on scade.pro, and later I plan to move them to Replicate. Images are generated with best-in-class flux.1 pro model and inpainting is used to โ€œdressโ€ a person in an image.

Today, I created a flow on Make.com that publishes one post per day to one of my stores. There are some interactions already. I used to do this manually.

I will soon send invites to closed beta to waitlist subscribers and select 2-3 people to work closely with and fine tune the tool for their needs.

  36. 1

Pinky: What are we going to do tonight this weekend, Brain?
The Brain: The same thing we do every weekend, Pinky. Try to take over the world!

Maybe not the world, but calendar sharing world :) I'm working on https://flatcal.com that will allow to merge multiple calendar feeds into a single one. So you can share one calendar with all the events and busy status with just one *.ics link instead sending two or six (or more) to your peers which is unmanageable in the long run.

I need to update this temporary website with something way better so this weekend I was focused on content brief and will be looking for someone who can help with that.

Thanks for asking and stay tuned for more info and release! Fingers crossed for all commenters

Working on a new app on iOS App Store_ REDBEAN that uses AI to describe and enhance images, animations, and soundsโ€”without needing to code! Itโ€™s designed to make creating interactive projects simple and fun for all users.

We would love any feedback about: What features do you like? Any suggestions for improvement?

Thanks for your time and thoughts!

    1. 1

Hey everyone! Iโ€™m working on a new iOS app called REDBEANโ€”it uses AI to describe and enhance images, animations, and sounds, all without needing to code. The goal is to make creating interactive projects super simple and fun for everyone.

    2. 1

Hey it looks cool, how do you create an iOS app from scratch? What's the tech stack you used?

  43. 1

You know how your side project gets a side project sometimes? Well, this is what happened to me over the weekend. Ended up building a database viewing tool for FastHTML that I am using for my main project (it's on github: callmephilip/fasthtml-tractor)

Working on my 1st SaaS outside of marketplace ecosystems ( rosterzen. com ). I need to integrate a payment method and work on SEO (marketplaces never required me to handle either of these).

    1. 1

Why are you now choosing to build outside marketplaces?

      1. 1

I think marketplaces were great for me to start off with and I still make profit off the apps I listed there but:

        1. It's possible that I can get a higher amount of users

        2. More flexibility, I was locked-in with the tech stack, dependencies etc.

        3. I don't give 20% of my revenue away

        4. I want to build for web, mobile and grow as a developer (never did mobile dev before in any of my 9-5 jobs)

        1. 1

          Got it. Good luck :)
