What's the best automation tool, other than Zappier, which is too expensive with my user numbers

The market they play in is called ipaas ( integration platform as a service ) and I think it is very crowded. I provide managed services for this market and have a list of 60+ competitors in the space

I am trying to differentiate by generating runnable programs as the output of the platform.
i.e. you design it visually in the platform web app, and you can download a little program you can deploy and run anywhere, on your server, or on your own laptop. Of course, I could also host your automation flows and run them for you.
Do you think this is providing enough value to differentiate in the IPAAS ecosystem, from your knowledge?
Yes, i think this would resonate with a certain subsection of the market. I know that integromat is working on a self-hosted offering that a lot of people in its forums are very anxious to get their hands on. There are also other products out there, such as https://www.stitchdata.com/ that have an open source offering to a degree that you would be competing with. Or Huginn is the pure open source offering in this space: https://github.com/huginn/huginn

I have switched from IFTTT and Zappier to a digital ocean + python setup - good option if you want control and know a bit of coding. There are lots of frameworks and tutorials for popular services to integrate to.

https://ifttt.com/ covers quite a few services. It's mostly consumer rather than business focused, but for things like 'forward my blog posts to twitter' or 'update a google spreadsheet from mailchimp' it works great.
What's your use case? I have a homegrown automation tool that allows to integrate several web services visually.

Indeed, I have started on this project precisely because of the horrible privacy profile of most automation systems online (I can't stand Zapier or IFTTT having access to all my data), so I believe we would definitely be in sync on this point.
