What's the best way to figure out what people are complaining about?

One tactic I find interesting, if not yet fruitful, is searching twitter (with quotes, for exact match), stuff like "wish there were a way" and so on. I know the canonical advice is to "go to forums" but that's tougher when you're in an early exploration phase. Any good general tips for something like this?

Find a group which you interested, and involve in that community, read all conversation, who know you find a nice problem to solve.
