Hey IH,
As a developer with 17 years of experience, I’ve seen the web become increasingly siloed. Recently, simply trying to read a thread on Twitter without logging in has become a friction-filled nightmare. Between the redirects and the aggressive Twitter login wall, the "open" web feels more like a locked room.
I got tired of the friction, so I built TwitterWebViewer.
Solving the "Access" Problem My goal was simple: create a fast, anonymous way to view Twitter tweets without login. I wanted to build a modern Nitter alternative for 2026,leveraging Next.js 14 and SSR to ensure performance is the primary feature.
Technical Challenges & Wins: The hardest part wasn't the UI; it was figuring out how to bypass Twitter login wall restrictions while maintaining server-side speed. By handling data fetching strategically, I created a flow where you can search Twitter without an account and get results instantly.
The Momentum: In just 3 weeks, the site has grown to 2.2K active users purely through organic discovery and word-of-mouth. It turns out, there's a massive demand for a reliable Twitter search without account tool that actually works in 2026.
My short-term mission is to scale this to 1,000 DAU (Daily Active Users). I’m currently deep in the trenches optimizing the search relevance algorithms to ensure high-engagement content always surfaces over low-quality noise.
I’m eager to connect with like-minded users and fellow builders here. My goal isn't just to grow a tool, but to provide genuine value to everyone navigating the increasingly restricted social web.
Disclosure: I am the founder and solo developer of TwitterWebViewer. I built this tool to solve my own frustration with the Twitter login loop without account access. While I aim to provide a superior browsing experience, this project is part of my "Build in Public" journey to explore SEO-driven growth and sustainable tool development.
If you’ve ever wanted to browse Twitter anonymously without the algorithmic noise, I’d love for you to give it a spin and give me some brutal feedback.
Hello, I don't know why you block me on Discord...
Update: I've officially created a product page for this tool to track our growth journey! Check it out here: https://www.indiehackers.com/product/twitter-web-viewer
Thanks for reading, everyone!
To add a bit more technical context: the main reason I built this was to solve the Twitter login loop without account access that many researchers and casual users face daily.
By utilizing Next.js 14, I’ve been able to keep the page size incredibly small, which is why the site feels so much faster than the official X client. I'm currently experimenting with a few more ways to view Twitter threads without signing up that are even more privacy-focused.
I'm really curious: for those of you who also browse Twitter anonymously, what’s the #1 feature you feel is missing from the current web viewers? I’m looking to hit that 1,000 DAU milestone by building exactly what the community needs.
Cheers!
