Why I built an "anti-cloud" warehouse system for local businesses

​A few months ago, I noticed a huge gap in the market for small and medium-sized physical businesses (like local webshops, distributors, and hardware stores). When it comes to inventory management, they usually face two terrible options:

1. ​The Excel Chaos: Running a warehouse on spreadsheets, leading to lost items, expired products, and constant stress.

2. ​The Cloud Trap: Paying hundreds of dollars a month for complex SaaS tools that hold their company data hostage on remote servers.

​I wanted to build a third option. A tool that brings digital simplicity to physical stock, without sacrificing data ownership. That's how RaktarPro (WarehousePro) was born.

​What is it?

It's a 100% on-premise warehouse operating system. The server and the database run locally on the business's own computer.

​The Tech Magic (Tailscale Integration)

The biggest challenge with on-premise software is mobility. Forklift drivers need to scan barcodes from the other side of the yard. Instead of forcing companies to open router ports and expose their network to hackers, I integrated Tailscale (Zero-Trust VPN) directly into the workflow.

Now, workers can use the companion Android app to scan barcodes over standard mobile data, securely tunneling right back to the local server. It works like magic.
