WarehousePro
Warehouse software+app
I wanted the setup to be as frictionless as a SaaS, but fully local. Here is the flow:
โThe Local Brain (Office PC): The business owner runs a 1-click Windows installer. This sets up the local database and the Server silently in the background. The manager uses the beautiful Desktop Client to visually map out their warehouse (drawing shelves, yards) and manage inventory.
โThe Worker's Tool (Android App): The warehouse staff installs the companion mobile app. They don't need to sit at a desk. They just walk up to a pallet, use their phone's camera (or a rugged scanner) to scan the barcode, and click "Receive" or "Dispatch".
โThe Real-Time Sync: As soon as a worker scans an item out in the yard, the Desktop Client in the office updates instantly. No refreshing needed.
โSmart Expiration Tracking: Since a lot of physical goods expire (food, chemicals), the dashboard automatically highlights batches that are getting dangerously close to their expiration date.
Hey Indie Hackers! ๐
โA few months ago, I noticed a huge gap in the market for small and medium-sized physical businesses (like local webshops, distributors, and hardware stores). When it comes to inventory management, they usually face two terrible options:
โThe Excel Chaos: Running a warehouse on spreadsheets, leading to lost items, expired products, and constant stress.
โThe Cloud Trap: Paying hundreds of dollars a month for complex SaaS tools that hold their company data hostage on remote servers.
โI wanted to build a third option. A tool that brings digital simplicity to physical stock, without sacrificing data ownership. That's how RaktarPro (WarehousePro) was born.
โWhat is it?
It's a 100% on-premise warehouse operating system. The server and the database run locally on the business's own computer.
โThe Tech Magic (Tailscale Integration)
The biggest challenge with on-premise software is mobility. Forklift drivers need to scan barcodes from the other side of the yard. Instead of forcing companies to open router ports and expose their network to hackers, I integrated Tailscale (Zero-Trust VPN) directly into the workflow.
Now, workers can use the companion Android app to scan barcodes over standard mobile data, securely tunneling right back to the local server. It works like magic.
โWhat I'm looking for:
As a solo developer, Iโve just finished polishing the UI and the installer. I would love to hear your feedback on:
โThe On-Premise vs. SaaS approach in 2026. Is the pendulum swinging back to local software?
โAny tips on marketing to local, non-tech-savvy business owners?
โThanks for reading my story! I'll be hanging around in the comments to answer any questions. ๐
