YC Build Sprint: Day #11 Update

Eleventh day of the sprint (check out the previous update here). Burn-out is still raging! My co-founder is starting to feel it as well. Also has to do with the fact that Korea is going under another lockdown due to resurging COVID cases. Anyways, today was more of a day for meeting and realigning our team than anything. It was a great time and we made a few major breakthroughs but it also meant actual dev and growth work didn't happen as much. Anyways, the update!

Sprint Goal:

Acquire 50 new premium user for Ryeboard

Previous Objectives:

1) Reach out to 10 different people about using Ryeboard!

This prompted a series of meetings that ultimately made me realize I have no idea what I'm doing in the realm of sales. I abhor the idea of just bothering someone for the sake of pushing our product. I need to understand how our potential customers work, how our product makes it easier, and figure out why they should get back to me. This is going to take longer than I thought.

2) Optimize our keywords and SEO

Nope... meetings and building out our new billing / payment system ate away at most of my time yesterday....

3) Finish updating our billing system!

SUCCESS! Rebuilt some of our payment processes to include team plans.

Key Metrics and Analysis :

  • WAU: 141
  • MAU: 83
  • Stickiness: 33.49%
  • New registrations: 12
  • New premium upgrades: 0
  • Total landing page visitors: 42

Similar metrics to yesterday. Seems our organic MAU growth has plateaued around 80. Need to figure out what to do... fast.

Objectives for Tomorrow:

  • Reach out to 10 different people about using Ryeboard!
  • Optimize our keywords and SEO!
  • Finish workspace /team plans dev!

That's it for today! It's starting to get a bit discouraging as growth starts to level out. It's obvious that we won't meet our sprint goals if this trend keeps up. Something needs to change but I'm not sure what! Despite all this I'm super excited about working on Ryeboard and look forward to going back to work soon.
