You guys saved my launch! Thought I'd share the results...

If you haven't read how my launch went horribly wrong in the first place, you can do so here.

The TL;DR is: I accidentally launched Job Board Fire 2.0 on ProductHunt with a lorem ipsum post and only realized I had launched because of a shady spammer messaging me through my live chat widget.

After the events of my initial post unfolded I was understandably dead last, not showing up on the front page, and holding only my own upvote while the top product had already gained 50+ votes.

I thought the launch was doomed and a part of me just wanted to quit and go to sleep, but then I realized my launch story is just absurd enough that if I share it I might get some attention and have a chance at a semi-successful launch.

So I wrote about what happened and shared it on Twitter, Reddit, and of course IndieHackers.

The Twitter thread went largely unnoticed.

The Reddit post can now be found if you sort by controversial, sitting at a pretty 0 upvotes and a lot of not so friendly comments.

But in my first stroke of luck for the day, the IH post was received warmly by the community 😊. I got likes, sympathizing comments, and even ProductHunt upvotes.

I started to receive my first few upvotes on ProductHunt and shortly after notifying my mailing list of the launch I had gained enough to be visible on the front page.

I was just happy to be there!

I answered the first few comments and questions that appeared and went to sleep hoping to crack top 5 by the time I wake up.

You can imagine my reaction when I woke up as the #2 product of the day.

I didn't think it would be possible to catch up to the products that had such a headstart, let alone surpass them.

It certainly wouldn't have been possible without the support of this community, so I want to give a big thanks to everybody who was a part of it.

So what were the results? Here are the stats at 2 PM the day after launch:

• 1,400 New users on Google Analytics
• 5.5K Pageviews
• 76 Free trial signups

It was a stressful launch, with a very rocky start, but it's safe to say it was fairly successful. I'm just glad it's over and I'm excited to see what job boards these new users create.
