May 18, 2026 Measure your website’s carbon footprint for free (in seconds)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been diving deep into the hidden environmental cost of our digital lives lately. It’s easy to forget, but every kilobyte of data we transfer actually grid-powers a server somewhere, leaving a real-world footprint.

To help fix this, I just built a completely free Website Carbon Calculator for 1ClickImpact.

Here is a quick look at what the insights dashboard looks like:

How it works : You just plug in your URL, and it analyzes the data transferred during a page load, factors in the energy intensity of the data centers, and checks if the host uses green energy. It takes about 5 seconds to give you a full breakdown.

Website Carbon ResultsCarbon emissions insights

The coolest part? Instead of just giving you a sad number and leaving it there, you can embed a small, clean badge into your site. It tracks your footprint in real-time and automatically offsets the impact as people browse.

(And if you want to bake this directly into your own products or dev workflows, I also exposed the endpoint as a simple API: docs.1clickimpact.com/website-carbon)

If you want to see how your site stacks up, test it out here: 1clickimpact.com/website-carbon

I'd love to know your scores and if you find any surprisingly heavy assets slowing things down!

April 22, 2026 Happy Earth Day: Turn your website traffic into real climate action
Climate Badge

Hey Indie Hackers,

With it being Earth Day, I wanted to launch something that moves beyond static "sustainability" badges. I wanted to build a tool that makes climate action a functional part of our growth.

I built the Climate Action Badge: https://1clickimpact.com/integrations/badge

The Concept: It’s a threshold-triggered engine. Instead of a vague monthly donation, you link impact directly to your traffic. For example: "Every 5,000 page views = 1 tree planted.

The Engineering (No-bloat, No-spy):

  • 10KB Gzipped: Loads async and renders in a Shadow DOM. Zero impact on Lighthouse or Core Web Vitals.

  • 0 Cookies: No tracking, no fingerprinting. It’s fully GDPR/CCPA compliant out of the box - no cookie banner required.

  • Verified Proof: Every action is end-to-end trackable. When a threshold is hit, you get GPS coordinates and video proof of the impact (trees, carbon capture, or ocean plastic) in your dashboard.

Why I built this: I’m a firm believer in "Impact-as-a-Service." If we can make it effortless for builders to integrate real, verifiable climate action into our workflows, the collective impact of the indie community could be massive.

I wrote a deeper dive on the logic and the "why" here: https://1clickimpact.com/blog/climate-action-badge-turn-website-traffic-into-real-impact

I’d love to know: As a founder, what’s the biggest barrier to you adding a "giving back" element to your site? Is it the cost, the technical setup, or the lack of transparency in where the money goes?

Happy Earth Day!

    Happy Earth Day! 🌱

Love the "threshold-triggered" approach — tying impact directly to traffic feels much more tangible than a vague monthly pledge. And the 10KB + zero cookies detail is a huge win for indie builders who obsess over performance.

To answer your question: for me, the biggest barrier has always been transparency. I want to give back, but I need to trust that the impact is real and traceable. The GPS + video proof feature directly solves that hesitation.

Curious: have you seen any patterns in which types of sites (blogs, SaaS, e-commerce) get the most engagement with the badge so far?

Thanks for building this — small tools like this can add up to big change.

  2. 1

The threshold-triggered model is genuinely interesting from a behavioural point of view. Static donations decouples action from outcome as in you pay, something happens somewhere, the feedback loop ends. What you've built reconnects that loop. Verifiable impact creates a cause-effect chain that's actually legible to both the founder and their users. That's a meaningful shift. One thing I'd be curious about: how do you handle threshold attribution across high-traffic spikes? If a site goes viral and hits 10x their normal views in 48 hours, does the impact engine queue the actions linearly or does it cap? That's the edge case I'd want to understand before recommending it to founders running paid campaigns.

  3. 1

Interesting concept, especially tying impact directly to usage instead of fixed donations.

Curious, have you seen founders actually adopt this long-term, or is it more of a short-term branding play?

  4. 1

As someone working in the home improvement space (like kitchen remodeling), one challenge I see is making sustainability feel relevant to our audience. Homeowners care about eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient designs, and reducing waste—but connecting that directly to something like traffic-based impact is still new.

For example, on my site I focus on helping people build better, more efficient kitchens. A tool like this could potentially reinforce that message by showing that even browsing or engaging with remodeling ideas contributes to something bigger.

I think the biggest barrier is still clarity + trust—people want to clearly understand how their actions translate into real impact. Your “verified proof” angle is a strong step in that direction.

Curious: have you seen better adoption from SaaS/tech founders vs local service websites like remodeling businesses?

    1. 1

Great point. For a remodeling business, tying 'design gallery' traffic to impact is a powerful way to build brand trust before a client even calls.

Right now, tech founders are the early adopters, but I think local services could benefit even more from that 'verified proof' angle to stand out.

Would you be open to trying it out on your site? Happy to answer any questions or help you get the snippet set up!

  5. 1

Good Idea, making sustainability as easy as an API call is pretty smart. The real challenge will be trust and proving the impact clearly over time.

    1. 1

Agreed. Making it 'easy' is only half the battle. If people don't trust the results, the ease of use doesn't matter.

Proving impact over time is exactly why we didn't go with a static badge. Because it's threshold-based, the badge actually updates in real-time on the user's site to show cumulative impact (e.g., '14 Trees Planted').

Seeing that number grow alongside their traffic and sending them videos/pictures of the impact is how we’re trying to build that long-term trust. Thanks for the feedback!

This is awesome! As someone who's always been deeply invested in sustainability and the environment, but also as a developer in an increasingly AI centric world, I've been thinking about how to square that circle recently. Developers, especially solo entrepreneurs, can't afford to not use AI these days, but it's difficult to reckon with the knowledge of the environmental impact (although I'm aware my claude prompts are a drop in the ocean).

I'm glad to see people coming up with cool ideas to at least do something good for our planet in return! I've saved this to come back to if my prodects ever get any actual views.

  9. 1

This is actually super clean. I’ve been wanting to add some kind of 'impact' badge to my landing page for a while, but most of them are honestly just bloated tracking scripts. Really appreciate that you went the no-cookie/Shadow DOM route - huge for keeping things fast.

One question on the setup: I’ve got a couple of different projects; can I manage multiple badges/sites from one dashboard, or is it one account per domain?

    1. 1

Thanks! Yeah, keeping it under 10KB was a challenge, but I really didn't want this to be the reason someone's Lighthouse score dropped.

To answer your question: Yes, you can manage everything from one dashboard. You can handle multiple different projects under one login, and you can even add multiple badges to the same site.

For example, you could have a 'Tree' badge on your homepage and a 'Carbon' badge on your blog or docs—each with its own independent threshold and tracking. You just generate a unique snippet for each and drop them in.

Let me know if you run into any issues setting up the second one!

  10. 1

This is a great way to turn sustainability into something measurable instead of just symbolic. Tying climate impact to growth metrics like page views makes it feel natural for founders to adopt.

The lightweight, no-cookie approach is also a big plus; performance and compliance are always concerns.

For me, transparency is usually the biggest barrier, and the GPS/video proof helps solve that nicely. Really cool idea! 🌍

    1. 1

Spot on. I think the 'symbolic' nature of most sustainability efforts is exactly why people are so skeptical of them. Tying it to traffic makes it a win-win—as your project grows, so does the impact.

I'm glad the GPS/video proof resonates with you. Transparency was the #1 'must-have' for me when building this, because 'trust me, we planted a tree' just doesn't cut it anymore. Happy Earth Day! 🌍

February 10, 2026 Is the era of "stuff" over? Why we’re betting on environmental gifting.

I’ve been looking at the numbers for the global gifting industry ($500B+), and honestly, it’s a bit depressing. A massive chunk of that is spent on "panic buying" low-quality plastic items bought last minute that spend a week on a shelf and a lifetime in a landfill.

As founders, we’re taught to build things people want, but what if what people actually want is less clutter and more legacy?

That’s the core mission behind 1ClickImpact. We’ve spent the last few years building the infrastructure to make environmental action as easy as a software integration. Think "Stripe for the planet" - we handle the complex stuff like GPS-tracking tree plantings, verifying ocean plastic removal, and sourcing carbon capture tech, so users can trigger real impact with one click.

The "Unboxing" Problem

The biggest hurdle we faced in moving from B2B to personal gifting was the "dopamine hit." People like opening things. To solve this, we moved away from boring "donation receipts" and built a high-end gifting flow:

  • Radical Transparency: We don't just say "we planted a tree." We provide GPS coordinates, certificates and even access to live planting sessions so you can see the impact in real-time.

  • The Experience: We designed 6 occasion-based themes (Birthdays, Memorials, etc.) so the digital "unboxing" still feels premium and personal.

  • Longevity: You aren't giving a candle; you're giving a forest that grows for 100 years.

I’m curious to hear from other builders: Do you think consumers are actually ready to swap the physical "thing" for a digital impact? Or is the tradition of holding a physical box too deeply ingrained in our psychology to overcome?

We’ve documented the 4-step gifting process and ideas we built here: https://1clickimpact.com/blog/eco-friendly-environmental-gifts

I go through your Idea and liked your idea mostly . I would like to join the list of users

  3. 1

    This hit home.

We're building cloud phones—basically replacing physical devices with virtual ones. Same story: people are tired of stacking hardware, dealing with e-waste, and the headache of managing it all.

Physical stuff isn't the goal. It never was. The goal is what the stuff enables.

    Love what you're building.

    1. 1

Love the parallel with cloud phones! It’s the same shift in mindset: moving from 'owning hardware' to 'accessing the service.' You’re 100% right—the physical device is just a means to an end. We’re trying to do the same for gifting. Instead of a physical object being the goal, the goal is the legacy left behind. Great to connect with someone else building in the 'anti-waste' tech space!

  4. 1

The era of excess “stuff” is fading as people choose purpose over clutter. In addition to protecting the environment, reducing waste, and creating a meaningful impact on the world, environmental gifting is an expression of conscious living.

  5. 1

Love this positioning overall — especially the shift from “donation receipt” → “premium digital experience.”

One thought from the perspective of someone building in AI-powered creative tooling:

I think the real unlock here isn’t whether people are ready to give up physical objects — it’s whether the moment feels cinematic enough.

The physical box isn’t valuable because it’s cardboard. It’s valuable because it creates:

    • anticipation

    • ritual

    • social storytelling

    • shareability

If you can make the digital impact feel like a directed moment — almost like a mini premiere — I think that's the moat

    For example:

    • A personalized 15–20 second impact “reveal” video (name, occasion, message, location of tree, live snippet)

    • A dynamic timeline that evolves over months (so the gift “grows” over time)

    • A shareable artifact that makes the giver look thoughtful (not preachy)

As someone building Kinetic (an AI creative director that turns ideas into high-end motion artifacts), I’ve seen how much presentation changes perceived value. The same content, packaged cinematically, feels 10x more meaningful in many occasions.

Environmental gifting might not need to replace physical gifts immediately — it just needs to outperform them emotionally.

Curious: have you tested pairing the live GPS + planting session with a highly designed reveal moment? That feels like the missing bridge between “impact” and “wow"...

    1. 1

This is a brilliant insight, Jimin. You hit the nail on the head: the 'moat' isn't the tree itself, it's the ritual. We are actually working on making that 'reveal' moment feel more cinematic. Right now, the confetti, instant email and certificate are the start, but the live planting sessions where you can interact with farmers are where that 'wow' factor really kicks in.

We actually talk a bit about how we handle that instant delivery in our blog, but you can see the actual 'themes' we built to handle that here: 1clickimpact.com/make-impact/gift.

  6. 1

I’ve given out “impact” a few times instead of stuff, and the response was really varied. ~

Some enjoyed the underlying story behind it, while others felt they had “nothing to open,” although intention was better.

The part about GPS coordinates and live proof is nice.

It seems that would be more amenable to show and discuss rather than sending along a receipt.

Could it be that part of this is about how easy it will be for the giver to “tell the story” about the gift later?

    1. 1

That’s a very fair point—the 'nothing to open' feeling is the biggest hurdle we’re tackling. It really comes down to whether the giver can 'sell' the story. That’s why we moved away from just sending a receipt and started providing GPS coordinates and live proof. It gives the recipient something to actually 'explore' rather than just a thank-you note.

We built 6 different occasion themes specifically to help tell that story better (Birthday, Memorial, etc.). You can see how the different 'gift packages' look in action here: 1clickimpact.com/make-impact/gift. It’s all about making the impact tangible enough to talk about!

  7. 1

Love this direction. I’ve seen the same thing — people don’t really want more stuff, they just don’t have an easy alternative that still feels meaningful.

The transparency angle (GPS, live sessions, long-term impact) is smart — that’s what turns a “donation” into a real gift. If you can make the emotional moment as strong as opening a box, this can absolutely work.

One small thought: maybe pair the digital impact with an optional physical token (like a simple printed card or QR keepsake). That bridge could help people transition from “thing” to “legacy.”

  8. 1

The 'Stripe for the planet' framing is clever. Being able to actually see GPS coordinates and a live session of the impact is the only way to get people like me to trust it. Out of curiosity, how deep does that tracking go? Can the recipient check back in a year and see if their trees are still there?

    1. 1

That skepticism is exactly why we built the tracking the way we did. 'Magic math' is the death of environmental tech.

To answer your question: yes, the link the recipient receives isn't just a one-time notification; it’s a living impact page. Every impact is permanent and traceable. We provide updates at each step of the process, so the recipient can actually follow the journey of their gift from the initial commitment to the final verified impact.

We wanted to go a step further than just a static dot on a map, so for the 'live' aspect, we actually host live planting sessions. Users can join a video stream to see the trees going into the ground in real-time and even interact with the farmers on the ground. It’s a lot more work on the operations side to coordinate, but like you said, it’s the only way to build real trust. It turns a 'transaction' into a shared experience.

August 29, 2025 🌱 IndieHackers Challenge: Build a $0 Project That Plants 10 Trees

Hey IndieHackers,
I want to try something a little different this week: a community challenge.

Can you build a side project that makes $0 but plants 10 trees by next week?

I’ll cover the API credits for anyone who wants to join in. Your project doesn’t need to be monetized, scalable, or even polished, it just has to do some good.

1ClickImpact tracking and features

How it works:

  • Pick any small trigger in your project (new signup, button click, commit, message, checkout, whatever)

  • Call the 1ClickImpact API to plant trees (or clean ocean plastic / capture CO₂ if you prefer)

  • Share your mini project + progress here by next week

Some fun examples to spark ideas:

  • GitHub: every time you merge a PR → plant a tree 🌳

  • Slack/Discord: every kudos message → clean ocean plastic 🐠

  • Notion + Zapier: when you check off a to-do → capture CO₂ 🌍

  • Stripe + Zapier: every new payment → plant a food tree that feeds a family 🍊

  • Calendar + Zapier: when a meeting ends → plant a tree (offset the emissions from Zoom fatigue 😅)

  • Etsy/Shopify test store: every “order” → trigger impact, even if it’s $0

  • Personal site: add a button that just says “click → plant a tree” and see who presses it

Why join?

  • You’ll ship something small but meaningful

  • You’ll have a fun story to share with users/investors/friends

  • You’ll prove that impact can be baked into products with almost no effort

Impact doesn’t have to be complicated, sometimes a few lines of code or a simple Zap can literally change the planet. 🌍 I’ll share everyone’s projects at the end of the week (and yes, the trees will actually get planted that you and your customers can track in the 1ClickImpact.com Dashboard).

Who’s in? 🙌

July 25, 2025 Turn Idle Bandwidth into Trees - Automatically

Hey Indie Hackers,

Quick and exciting update on 1ClickImpact - the API that lets any app, workflow, or business plant trees, capture carbon, or clean oceans in a single API call.

We just launched a game-changing partnership with IdleForest:

A browser extension that uses your unused bandwidth to reforest the planet — automatically.

No ads. No crypto. No search engine changes. Just install it, forget it, and plant real trees 🌱

Plant trees for free

How it works:

  • You install the IdleForest browser extension or Mac app.

  • When your device is idle, it shares unused bandwidth via a secure, privacy-first model.

  • IdleForest then funds tree planting directly via the 1ClickImpact API.

→ You literally plant trees in your sleep.
No wallets. No dashboards. Just passive good for the planet.

Read more about the partnership here:
🌍 Our Blog: 1ClickImpact x IdleForest
🌲 IdleForest’s Announcement

Why it matters (especially if you’re building something):

We’re proving a new model for climate action:

Impact doesn’t have to be loud, costly, or complicated.
It can be automated, passive, and beautifully invisible — woven right into the experience your users already love.

If you're building a product — SaaS, browser extension, mobile app, internal tool, Discord bot — you can now use our API to offer real-world impact (with real-time tracking) natively inside your user experience.

Whether it's:

  • “Invite a friend → plant a tree”

  • “Complete a workflow → clean ocean waste”

  • “Push code → capture CO₂”

We give you the tools to turn engagement into global good 🌎

📘 Docs: https://docs.1clickimpact.com

This is just the start.
We’re talking with climate startups, browser builders, and game devs to bring impact everywhere. If you want to offer tree planting, ocean cleanup, or carbon capture through your own product - drop a comment or DM. I’d love to help you plug into our API.

“Sign up → plant a tree” hits way harder than a confetti pop, love this idea. Curious if the API track impact per user or event? Would be cool to show users what they've contributed over time.

    1. 1

Yes, the API can track per user or event. So if you want to show someone a little “you’ve planted 12 trees” badge or impact dashboard — it’s all possible. Happy to share how if you’re curious!

May 28, 2025 How I Turned a Line of Code into Real-World Impact (and You Can Too)
Make Impact SDK

This year, I wanted to try something a little different with my side projects.

Not just ship another dashboard.

Not just chase MRR.

But build something that actually touches the real world - something that does good the same way we ship features: fast, simple, and quietly powerful.

That thought turned into a small experiment that started with one line of code:

await sdk.plantTree({ amount: 1 });

One line. One tree. That’s where it began. 🌳

❓The problem: Doing good always felt… complex

I've always wanted to add some form of "impact" to my products — plant trees for new users, clean ocean waste when someone upgrades, or offset emissions for digital actions.

But I kept running into friction:

- Who handles the logistics?

- How do I prove it’s real?

- What about tracking, updates, and transparency?

I didn’t want to build a full ops team. I just wanted to write a function that does good.

⚡ The solution (and code)

So I built a minimal SDK and API to test this idea out:

Image of the MakeImpact SDKs

import { OneClickImpact } from "makeimpact";
const sdk = new OneClickImpact("your_api_key");
// Plant a tree 🌳
await sdk.plantTree({ amount: 1 });
// Clean ocean plastic 🐠
await sdk.cleanOcean({ amount: 5 });
// Capture CO₂ from air 🌍
await sdk.captureCarbon({ amount: 2 });

Each of these calls triggers a verified action in the real world.

The cool part? There's a live dashboard, and even recorded planting sessions for transparency.

This tiny SDK now powers impact features in a few of my projects — and friends are starting to use it too.

🧩 How I’m integrating it (without annoying users)

Features of 1clickimpact

- A tree planted when someone signs up

- 5 ocean plastics removed when a user shares feedback

- CO₂ captured when a team reaches a milestone

These are all invisible to users, but surprisingly effective in making the product feel more purposeful.

The response has been… different.

People noticed. They cared. Some even reached out just because of that one tiny feature.

🛠️ Want to try it?

If this idea sparks something for you, here are the SDKs and docs I put together:

- JavaScript SDK

- Python SDK

- Full API Docs

It’s all open and hackable. Feel free to build your own thing on top of it or fork it.

🌍 Final thought

We don’t need to build nonprofits or raise millions to do good.

Sometimes a side project and a bit of code is enough.

I’m still experimenting, but if you're building something and want to tie it to a real-world action, I’d love to hear how you'd use this idea.

Let’s make impact simple—and part of how we build.

That’s a great metaphor — curious how you validated the “feeling good” part? We’re also building something emotion-heavy (narrative survival RPG).

Love the Stripe analogy. We made a text-driven RPG from a 2,000-page novel — totally get what it means to reduce complexity.

We had the same challenge communicating our project — fiction-based survival game. Thanks for sharing your clarity here!

Really like the mission behind this - helping founders track impact feels like a smart niche.

Quick question: how are you thinking about integrations (e.g. Stripe, Notion, Airtable) so users can measure impact with the tools they already use?

    1. 1

Thanks so much - appreciate the support! 🙏

Great question. We actually offer a Zapier integration that makes it super easy to connect 1ClickImpact with tools like Stripe, Notion, Airtable, and hundreds more. That way, you can automatically trigger impact events (like planting a tree or cleaning ocean plastic) based on the tools you already use — whether it's a Stripe payment, a new row in Airtable, or a completed task in Notion.

You can check it out here:

Excited to see what you build with it!

  6. 1

This is awesome — love how you’ve made doing good as simple as calling a function. Clean, quiet, powerful impact.

I’m building something in a different space but with a similar philosophy: an AI-powered compliance assistant that helps small businesses stay on top of frameworks like HIPAA, SOC 2, and GDPR — without the overwhelm, audits, or heavy consultants. Trying to make compliance as effortless and human as you’ve made sustainability.

Curious if you’ve seen any adoption from B2B SaaS tools? Would love to explore a “1-click impact” integration into automated compliance workflows — like planting a tree for every risk resolved or audit passed. Could be a cool way to add purpose to otherwise boring (but important) work.

Would be keen to chat if you're open — or if anyone reading this wants to simplify compliance without killing their momentum, I’d love to share what I’m building.

    1. 1

Really appreciate the kind words and I love what you’re building. Making compliance less painful (and more human) is a seriously underrated mission.

And yes - we’ve seen early traction with B2B SaaS tools, especially those looking to tie real-world impact to user actions: shopify orders, signups, milestones, usage-based triggers, etc. What you described - planting a tree for every resolved risk or completed audit - is exactly the kind of meaningful automation we built this for.

Would definitely be up for a chat. Feel free to grab a time on my calendar:

      Looking forward to connecting!

It's a great idea. Not sure how for example the plastic clearing is proven. Is it connected to different non-profits? Will this have an impact on the environment where the purchase happens or just in the world in general.

Great question and I totally get the skepticism. We’ve partnered with nonprofit organizations and on-the-ground collection networks in Thailand, Brazil, the Philippines, and Indonesia, where plastic pollution is one of the most urgent challenges.

The cleanup work is done by local community members who gather plastic waste and exchange it at registered Plastic Bank branches. In return, they earn extra income and gain access to social benefits like health insurance, education support, and digital banking tools — helping them move out of poverty while also protecting their environment.

Every action you trigger through the SDK is traceable and goes toward these verified programs. So even if you're based in the U.S. or Europe, your support creates real impact where it’s most needed.

Awesome. I'm just launching my product, but will definitely consider it once I'm up and running. Keep it up!

        1. 1

Thanks so much and congrats on launching your product! 🚀 That’s a huge milestone.

Whenever you’re ready, we’d love to help you weave real-world impact into what you’re building. Even a small action, like planting a tree when someone signs up, can go a long way in making your product more meaningful.

February 19, 2025 Launch: 1ClickImpact – Making Impact a Feature, Not a Hassle

Hey Indie Hackers,

Super excited to introduce 1ClickImpact! The idea started with a simple question: What if making a difference was as easy as an API call?

Too often, businesses and developers want to contribute to sustainability—whether by planting trees, cleaning ocean waste, or capturing carbon—but get stuck in complexity, high costs, and logistics.

So, we built 1ClickImpact: APIs and no-code integrations that let anyone embed real impact into their workflows, apps, and e-commerce stores effortlessly. Whether it’s planting a tree for every purchase, cleaning ocean waste through a Zapier automation, or capturing carbon via a Shopify checkout extension, we make it one click away—with real-time tracking at every step.

Think of it like Stripe, but instead of processing payments, we process “feeling good about yourself.”

Why We Built This

Sustainability is a $12 trillion industry, and businesses want to show they care—but not if it means endless emails, vague reports, and extra work.

I built 1ClickImpact because adding sustainability should be as easy as clicking a button, not a months-long bureaucratic headache.

How It Works

👩‍💻 For Developers – Simple APIs to integrate sustainability into any product.

🛍 For Businesses – No-code tools like Zapier and our Shopify app make it easy.

📊 For Impact Transparency – Every action is tangible and trackable in real time via our impact dashboard—whether made by you or your customers.

Proven Impact from Beta Users

🚀 +17% higher conversion rates as impact-driven customers are more likely to check out.

💰 +15% increase in AOV as customers shift more spending to brands that align with their values.

🔄 +30% boost in retention as repeat purchases build long-term customer engagement.

📈 +7% subscription sign-up lift and +9% lower churn by reinforcing value over time.

Pricing (API-Based SaaS Model)

🚀 Free plan – Get started making an impact at no cost.

💰 $29/month – 500 API calls included.

💰 $99/month – 2,000 API calls included.

🌱 Pay as you grow—more API calls, bigger impact.

What’s Next?

✅ Expanding integrations with more platforms.

✅ Partnering with more sustainability organizations to scale impact.

✅ Looking for early adopters and feedback!

If you're building something and want to add real-world impact, check out 1ClickImpact. Let’s make sustainability frictionless!

Would love your thoughts, feedback, and support. Let’s build something that truly makes a difference. 🚀🌍

Love this concept! Can this be used for SaaS businesses? Would it work for something like rewarding customers for referring friends?

    1. 1

Absolutely --- SaaS businesses can integrate 1ClickImpact seamlessly. You could reward customers for referrals by triggering impact actions—like planting a tree or removing plastic from the ocean—whenever someone refers a friend.

For example, if a user successfully refers a friend who signs up, you can use our API or no-code tools (like Zapier) to trigger an impact event automatically. Plus, customers receive emails to track their impact in real time, making the experience more engaging and rewarding.

This not only incentivizes referrals but also aligns your brand with sustainability, which customers love. Would love to hear more about your use case—happy to help brainstorm the best way to implement it! 🚀

1ClickImpact sounds like such a game-changer! 🌱 Embedding sustainability into everyday business actions with just an API call or no-code tool is genius—especially with the transparency through real-time tracking. 🚀

The impact-driven conversion stats from your beta users are super compelling too! It’s clear businesses want to make a difference without extra hassle.

Can’t wait to see how this scales with new integrations and partnerships. Wishing you all the best with your mission to make sustainability frictionless!

January 1, 2025 Building 1ClickImpact – Making Sustainability Effortless

Hey Indie Hackers,

I’ve always believed that doing good shouldn’t be hard—yet, when businesses try to add sustainability, they hit a wall of logistics, high costs, and complexity. Whether it's planting trees, removing plastic from oceans, or capturing carbon, it takes too many emails, contracts, and manual work.

So, I’m building 1ClickImpact—APIs and no-code tools that let businesses and developers embed real impact into their apps, stores, and workflows with a single click. Think of it like Stripe, but instead of processing payments, we process “feeling good about yourself.”

Why? Because making an impact should be as easy as calling an API, not a months-long bureaucratic headache.

🚀 If you're interested, I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and ideas. Let’s make sustainability a feature, not a hassle. 🌍

This is such a refreshing take on building side projects. The API simplicity is elegant — love the idea of tying digital actions to physical outcomes. Curious how do you see this scaling in terms of different regions and partner orgs?

About

I started 1ClickImpact because making a real-world impact shouldn’t be complicated. 1ClickImpact exists to make sustainability as effortless as a payment API — like Stripe, but we process “feeling good about yourself”.
