Interesting question🤔
How can I avoid the SMS fees sent from my software?
I am adding a notification feature to my users. I plan to connect it to the authorities in Sweden but I am required to be able to send all notifications as SMS.
This can be very expensive for me? How can charge the users for the service I am providing them. I only want to charge them for actually received sms notification.
Is there a smart way for me to not charge them but connect to their current service provider instead?

Does anyone know about this?
Legalities of using data/information from external websites
I have a product idea that would gather information (ratings) from different websites and display them all in one place. It would show the name of the website the rating is coming from and have a link to that website for the user to read more info. This information is free and available online, so I don't know if it is free to use, or if I have to try and contact each organisation to ask them for permission, and how that whole process of acquiring data would work and how I can pull that data etc.

I finally did it…!!
It took a long time (10 months).
I rebuilt AskMakers from scratch (Nuxt.js→Next.js).
Add new feature and new makers joined👍
AskMakers 2.0 is live now.
Please check the detail on Product Hunt
Any questions and feedback are welcome🤝

I read Justin Jackson's blog, How do I find customers? and it says It's easier when you build something people were already looking for.
I think this makes sense a lot.
I also thought why a lot of startups fail if they follow what Justin says?
Does it mean they make what they want to make?
An interesting question has been posted👍

Do you know https://pioneer.app/ ?
As long as I know, Pioneer is founded by Daniel Gross, partner at Y-Combinator.
There is a tournament every 2 weeks and you need to earn more points during that.
Ee have to give other participants’ product feedback every week to earn points,
and because of this system, I think Pioneer is a good place to get feedback!
For instance, these are the feedback I got.
I put my referral link here.
https://pioneer.app/join/taishikato
With a referral link, you can join Pioneer with additional points👍
I really recommend you join it!!

I sent a notification email to users and one of them DMed me on Twitter, saying he wants to be removed from AskMakers…
Ouch! My heart got bumped a bit.
I just know this is something I need to get used to.
And I am sure this is the thing almost all the successful makers have experienced (or experiencing).
Anyway, I keep it up 💪

Yep! I just hate sending emails through MailChimp and then seeing a couple of users unsubscribe. Hurts them feelings. Can't take it personally though, some people just sign up out of curiousity and then want out, or realise your product doesn't have value for them. Keep your chin up! Think about all the people who stay subscribed.

I feel you, when that happens, even if it is 1 or 2 bothers a lot.
But who wants subscribers that don't open emails and reads them?
So that's my positive take...

Such a good way to think about it. Thanks for framing it like this, I needed to read this today also!

I am really glad it helps Adam.
On top of that, when they unsubscribe, the stays there I go and delete it because is simply nonessential to have it there and your email list is "clean..."

So it goes.
Build a self-service user deletion feature and the next time you get a message like that, tell them they can do it themselves and provide a link to your help page.

I kept using an old version of next-redux-wrapper and my custom APP component extends App from next/app, thus all of my page components were SSR.
I don' liken that. I updated the version of next-redux-wrapper and changed the code of the custom App component and store.ts.
Finally, AskMakers becomes a much better-performed app I hope!

On the top page, I added the most upvoted answers section.
For AskMakers, answers that users posted are very important.
Yes, I can say they are assets.
Thus, curating them is very crucial since that information is very useful to users.
I would like to keep it up!

About
I want to make a Quora for Indie makers. So this time I am making AskMakers. The makers can ask experienced/successful makers questions. AskMakers help makers are successful with their own products😁
