Bluedot
Bluedot is an AI-powered meeting recorder šµ
After the launch, Bluedot was mentioned in multiple newsletters and AI directories. It gave us big boost of traffic which resulted in 800 installations of our extension plus thousands of people visiting our page.
After a few months, weāve achieved over $1000 in MRR.
The idea was to create a centralized hub for all of the company-wide meeting recordings.
We started building the product while conducting 5-10 research calls where I tried to sell the product. Looking back now I can see that my main mistake was thinking that good feedback was a desire a buy the product.
Lots of people where interested initially, but dropped out when I started asking them to buy. It felt depressing as hell.

We stumbled upon a company called Rewatch, and we realized that we have lots of similar functionality. They just raised from A16Z so it looks like the guys know what they are doing and it was B2B sales-led tool with big checks, so we thought it's exactly what we need. (wrong assumption)

Once we started talking to potential customers, we realized that they either didn't have big budgets (podcasters, creators etc) or they wanted a solution that would do everything for them. When we started talking to more advanced users like video editors, they wanted a complete solution like Veed, but it wasn't our plan to build a clone of Veed.

Our first idea was to build a web video editor that would allow you to edit your video by editing text. We had a prototype in Figma, did some interviews, and started pitching this to investors. Got rejected by YC, but 3 other accelerators (2 from the US and 1 UK-based) made us offers and we accepted the OnDeck offer.

My co-founder and I always wanted to build software that would solve our own problems. Taking notes during the meeting is something that we both hate.
