June 27, 2020 Featured on the AppStore

First big milestone! After just 1 week of being publicly available, Burnd is featured by Apple in the "Apps we love" category in a total of 110 countries. The featuring includes Germany, Canada and other large countries, unfortunately the "holy grail" of USA is not amongst them (yet).

Well done, any tips on getting featured?

I filled out the "Featuring form" Apple provides: http://appstore.com/promote. I cannot say for certain what actually convinced them to do the featuring but I specifically highlighted all Apple technologies the app is using + I told a little bit of a "product story" along with it. Also having an app that is visually appealing is always a must, I'd say chances of getting featured if your UI is not well done are close to zero.

June 13, 2020 Launched for Pre-Order

After a roughly 2 week period of testing the app using Testflight and making some final adjustments and bugfixes, Burnd is now finally available for pre-order starting today. The pre-order version of the app is for free and will be downloaded automatically once actually released.

June 2, 2020 MVP ready

It took about 4 weeks, but I'm finally done building the minimum viable product for Burnd. I worked mostly nights and weekends, and I coded the whole thing in Xcode using Swift. In hindsight, there were a few features I built that probably could've waited until later. But I'm excited to start talking to customers and see what they think about the product so far!

April 2020 Came up with the idea

I am passionate about health and fitness & going to the gym to work out regularly. During the COVID-19 crisis I was looking for ways to stay motivated working out at home with mostly bodyweight exercises - I discovered HIIT, was unsatisfied with available products and figured I could create my own. πŸ€“
In addition to that, I also figured it was about time to create another side project.
