May 25, 2023 420K 30 days active users

Just a few months ago we were at 210K monthly active users. Now our traffics have doubled to 420K monthly active users.

Since our last updates, we started using AI to summarize the user reviews, creating a short bullet points of pros and cons for each popular extension using AI. We also redesign the layout of our site to encourage further explorations. Finally, we updated our sitemap generation to focus more on high value extensions. The result has been pretty positive on driving more organic traffics from SEO.

January 30, 2023 210K 30 days active users

It has been over a year since my previous milestone. Back in Oct 2021, I was hoping to reach 150K by the end of that year. That did not happen. The traffics went through some up and down over 2022. In the summer of 2022, we were at 170K 30 days active user, then Google search helpful content update got rolled out in September and our traffic got significantly affected, especially since the majority of our traffics came from organic searches.

Since then, we have been looking to make our content more helpful and accessible to our users. Not only have we finally crossed the 200K monthly active users threshold, we have also gained many more paid customers, and also generated decent revenue from ads. Aiming to double our revenue again by the end of the year.

October 13, 2021 100K 30 days active users

Our user base continues to grow. We have reached 100K 30 days active users. We had a large increase in the number of indexed pages by Google (from 280K in early Sep to 540K in Oct), and that helped boosted the search traffics significantly.

Hoping to reach 150K 30 days active users by the end of the year!

September 25, 2021 80K 30 days active users

We just crossed 80K 30 days active users. Our Alexa rank is hovering around 70K. We still have very few paid customers, though with the large number of visitors, we are able to make some decent revenue from ads.

The majority of our traffics (>90%) is from search (mostly Google). To get here, we did a lot of heavy SEO and page speed optimization. It took a long time to see results, though now we are seeing user growth at around 5% week over week.

June 1, 2021 Reached 20 paid customers

I now have 20 paid customers and $200 MRR. Thanks for the annual payment method, I can now receive more revenue upfront. Also thanks to Brian Kreb's article: https://krebsonsecurity.com/2021/05/using-fake-reviews-to-find-dangerous-extensions/, I received a few more users who signed up for the free trials.

I bumped up the prices again, and added a button for users to schedule demos. I have received a few requests for demo so far. Hoping to get more tractions.

April 30, 2021 Integrated with AdSense

After a few hiccups with AdSense integration (my AdSense account was paused for reviews a few times), I reenabled AdSense integration, and it is helping to generate ad revenue from free visitors. Now I am making >$700/mo from AdSense, which helps cover the infrastructure cost.

September 1, 2020 Initial website launched

After crawling Chrome Web Store for a bit, I built the initial version of ChromeStats and made the website public. Did not receive much traffic from anywhere, which is expected. This is mostly to check if everything is setup properly for SEO and to see if we can receive traffics.
