⏳ Chronobreak Journey #3 ⏳

⏳ Chronobreak Journey #3 ⏳

Hi Indiehackers,

A little bit of context first. We are two makers, like you, building our first project: Chronobreak.

Chronobreak is an iOS app to easily follow League of Legends (LoL) competitive scene. If you don't know what the hell is League of Legends don't worry. LoL is a computer game and one of the most popular eSports at the moment. Anyway, you can imagine the app as if it was to follow NBA, NFL or something like that.

We are documenting our journey to get as much feedback as possible. Here are the insights of our 3rd week:

Chronobreak Journey Week 3

From Saturday February 23 to Saturday March 2

Features

Our main goal of this week was to prepare version 1.2 including new features like:

  • LEC real time Standings including:
    ** Team positions
** Wins / Loses / Winrate of each team
** Position change compared to the previous week
  • New "highlights" button in past matches redirecting to youtube video highlight.
  • New "watch live" button in live matches redirecting to live twitch streaming.
  • Indicator of the current week and upcoming match to improve navigation.

Time spent

We spend a total of 18.5 hours in 5 days as following:

  • 2 hours prioritizing and defining the product.
  • 3 hours designing iOS App.
  • 5.5 hours coding iOS App.
  • 4 hours coding Backend.
  • 4 hours of marketing. Mainly redacting release notes, reddit posts, this post...

Note that we are two persons so a meeting of 1 hour counts like 2 hours of time spent

Metrics

Currently, our main KPI is weekly active users because LoL matches are played every weekend.

If you think that we should be paying attention to a more important metric please let us know. All feedback is highly appreciated!

We now have 46 WAUS. We expect to at least double that number after this release.

We'll let you know how it was next Thursday in the next Chronobreak Journey

Next actions

To achieve this goal we are doing four things:

  1. Post a highly customized "Chronobreak journey" in the League of Legends subreddit. If you wanna see that (less business-oriented) post you are welcome: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/avw6a0/chronobreak_journey_3_app_to_follow_lol_esports/

  2. Publish that reddit post also in the oficial European and American League of Legends forum.

  3. Make this post here :P

  4. Posting a Twitter thread on Saturday about a LoL (while LEC week 7 matches are being played). You'll see it on our twitter account: https://twitter.com/chronobreakapp

Thank You for reading

That's all so far in our Journey. Thanks a lot for reading this summary and supporting us. ANY KIND of feedback will be appreciated. We will be posting next Thursday here on Indie Hackers talking about results and next steps.

TL;DR

Chronobreak journey is a weekly post about our insights building an iOS App to follow League of Legends eSports. We write about time spent, app metrics, marketing actions... We would like that you join us along this journey.

P.S: I ALMOST FORGET. 😅If you wanna try the app feel free to download it from the App Store https://chronobreak.app.link/XjsmrKFuGU
