June 24, 2021 I finally got to Indie Hackers

And after a lot of reading, I decided to sign up and start sharing the Crossfy story here.

I am about to reach 200 boxes and 60,000 registered users on the platform (https://www.crossfyapp.com). We are in 14 countries. And I hope to end 2021 with 1000 boxes and 300,000 registered users, in addition to the Crossfy company established and, perhaps, the first employees.

We'll see what happens!
Greetings!
Matias

PS: Sorry about my English. Although I can read and understand, it is difficult for me to write and speak, so I use Google Translate.

April 1, 2021 100% of my time

Finally since April 2021 I decided to dedicate myself full time to Crossfy. In March we celebrated the first 100 boxes in more than 13 countries using the platform and growing more and more.

At that moment I began to connect with indie hackers, and various twitter users to learn from their experiences and why not share mine. I did not find communities in Spanish, nor in LATAM where I can share about creating products, so we are putting it together (I leave the discord link: https://discord.gg/cYr2u8WA)

Since I have been 100% focused on Crossfy, the growth has increased.

March 1, 2020 COVID: The end of Crossfy?

March 2020 was approaching. Crossfy continued to grow slowly: I already had about 18 stable clients, and Crossfy was my side project (while working as an organizational coach in different companies).
The pandemic arrived, the gyms closed and I believed that everything was over: My clients could no longer pay me (I offered to continue using the platform for free).
What I did not expect is that a couple of months later, in full restrictions due to the pandemic, some of the functionalities that it had in Crossfy became indispensable. This is how May 2020 arrived and the customers began to rain.

  • 7 new clients in May
  • 12 new clients in June
  • 17 new clients in July!
And so to my surprise, I closed 2020 with 86 clients and more than 27,000 registered users. two and a half years later, Crossfy was beginning to wake up.

This brought some consequences:

  • It was no longer scalable to continue making an app for each client. Since mid-2020 Crossfy is a unique platform where each new box is added.
  • I began to automate various processes that were no longer so easy to maintain.
  • I started working 50% of my time in a dependency relationship, and the rest dedicating it to Crossfy.

June 1, 2019 Puerto Rico

The months passed and little by little more boxes were added. I already had about 6 or 7 boxes using the platform.

I kept sending emails to reach other parts of the world, until at one point it started to happen: The people from Stay True, a box in Puerto Rico, contacted me. My first foreign customer! And not only that, behind them, 4 more boxes from Puerto Rico joined. Word of mouth continued and today Puerto Rico is one of the places where I have the most clients. I don't know why, but I love it!

August 1, 2018 The second customer. The most important

The application was working very well in RM, and I decided to start making it reach other boxes. It was an arduous task, collecting emails, telephones, trips. Interested people from Q21 appeared, another important Crossfit box in the south of Buenos Aires.

After showing them the product and a couple of conversations, the second Crossfy app was finally on the market! For the modest sum of 1200 ARS per month.

June 1, 2018 First version

After a couple of months of work, the first version of the app for Rm Crossfit was ready.
We finalize details and launch it. In the early days, the 400 people who trained with me were installing the app and seemed to like it. My first charge for the service was the exchange to train: I was training "Free".

February 16, 2018 It all started with a mock up

Training at RM Crossfit, I came up with an idea: Make the mobile app for the box. I mentioned it to one of the owners, he told me that he was interested. I built a mockup in a week and showed it to him. Their eyes were sparkling. So I set out to create the first version of the application. Crossfy was being born.
