Stumbled on this great addition to Google Labs that sounds a lot like what we're doing with CustomPod.
This is both terrifying and exciting - there's no way that we could compete with Google on distribution, resources, and tech. But how cool is it that they are finding that users want the same thing as we've been building.

We have been working aggressively to get some visual updates out the door in both the app and the main site to give a better understanding of what CustomPod does and to get some happier eyes on the product.

Easy to understand design for your app. But it's difficult to understand what you do from your site. How does this differ from a normal podcast player where I can subscribe to the shows I want?

The difference is that you can't subscribe to podcasts with this, you can subscribe to sources of content that will build your own podcast (aka briefing) to get updated on your world on the go.

CustomPod now has the ability to get recent and trending posts from reddit to include in your daily briefing! This new feature allows users to stay updated on their favorite subreddits, all delivered in a concise daily audio briefing.
Create a new briefing to listen to just those updates, or add them to a briefing about your industry, hobbies, or favorite metal band.
Recently we spoke with users who wanted to be able to curate their podcasts with even more of their user-specific data: think telegram and slack channels, email, and places that you scroll that you, well, don't want to scroll.
So we have today released a major update to CustomPod that allows for multiple podcasts, each with their own focus - whatever you want that to be.
Staying up to date in places like frontend web development for example, has never been easier. Have CustomPod read tech news from Engadget, Chrome/Mozilla Developer Blogs, and recent web articles on React to stay in the know while on the go!
I've been an engineer since middle school, always tinkering with little gadgets and making tools that I use in my day to day life. It took me little effort to get a project up and running to show friends to get a "wow" out of them and get excited to play with on their own.
Marketing however, is a whole different beast - especially in this social media age we live in. All of the common advice is along the lines of "become an influencer, or talk to someone who is"; and if you're not, be ready to grind making content like you're a Youtube star.
Well I'm no Mr. Beast, but it is quite fun to get out of the formal, "it does or it doesn't work" coding space and into something a bit more subjective and creative. Entering my own mind and answering the question of "what content would I really get excited by" is such a change in mindset that it's a welcome endeavor.
