Cyced
Turning Strava data into cycling prints
Slow and steady but got to 100 customers today. I have spent $0 on advertising in 2020. Most of my customers have come from organic search or word of mouth. Oh and the email list I organically grow through lead capture.
2020's average customer value is up compared to other years and I've began selling in Etsy which so far has provided a single high-value customer.
I don't advertise or spend any money on marketing Cyced. The margins on the product are just too small to get an effective CPA. So when I got my 50th customer via SEO and through partnerships I was so excited.
I never thought I'd get a customer yet alone this many.

After conducting primary research it was clear the price point of £49.99 (free shipping) was way too high.
I changed this price point to £24.99 + shipping. It's not scalable but will help validate my product and price point. If all goes well I have validation to automise and explore self-printing.
I got my first customer after spending the winter season developing the product and making it optimal in design, print quality, and price point.
The customer came from the SEO work I had learnt and implemented myself over the past two years whilst Cyced was just a cycling blog.

I love to cycle and to hear about cyclist's adventures. Creating custom Strava maps to turn five hours in the saddle to a lifelong memory in the home is a pleasure. And I love looking at maps too...
