August 11, 2025 90 Users, First Sales & Our Early Bird Lifetime Deal Still Running

Hey Indie Hackers,

A few months ago, we launched dotts – a super simple way to collect feedback on designs, PDFs, and websites (no client logins, just share a link).

🚀 Current status:

  • 90 registered users (all organic)

  • First paying customers 🎉

  • Amazing feedback on how quick and easy it is to set up

To keep the momentum going, our Early Bird Lifetime Deal is still live:

  • One-time $49.90 – use it forever

  • All features, unlimited projects & clients

  • Available for the first 100 users only

If you’re working on client projects and know the chaos of messy feedback, give it a try:

Also curious to hear from you:

How did you go from first users to your first paying customers?

Cool idea - I' m currently grabbing feedback on my project Toad, so definitely feel the pain point.

When you say you've got to 90 organic users, how have you done that exactly? What channels did you use? Did you find some channels better than others?

    1. 1

Hi Toad, sounds great! Feel free to check it out. If you need help lmk, happy to jump on a call.

We mostly used product launch pages, X and Reddit. Tried to post in channels where a lot of freelancers etc are active since we see our ICP there.

      Good luck!

Love how dotts cuts through the feedback chaos...

From those 90 users how many are actually giving honest feedbacks and are active? And may I know how you've built that whole platform? Is it by using No-code tools or you've done it manually?

April 27, 2025 Private beta - Free access for our first users

Since we've build dotts to have a centralized feedback tool for our own projects - we are very keen to hear how it can help you!

For that reason we decided to offer dotts for free to our first users. What's the deal? You will most likely receive an email from me to ask for feedback - thats it.

It'll take you a few clicks to start collecting feedback for your visuals, websites or docs. Down to try? 👉 Try it out: [https://dotts.se/]

April 24, 2025 Just launched: Dotts – a simple visual feedback tool for websites, images, and PDFs 🚀

Hey Indie Hackers!
We’re Leon (designer/dev) and Tobi (sales/ops) – and we just launched our new side project: Dotts.

What is Dotts?

Dotts is a minimal, client-friendly feedback tool that lets users leave pinpointed comments on live websites, images, and PDFs – all without needing an account. Just upload a file or paste a link, share it, and you’re good to go. It’s built to make feedback fast, simple, and visual.

Why we built it

As a designer and a software sales guy, we’ve both struggled with long, messy client review processes. Most tools out there (like MarkUp) are either too expensive, too bloated, or confusing for clients. So we decided to build something better – a lightweight, no-friction alternative that works out of the box.

Who it’s for

Designers, developers, product teams, freelancers, agencies – basically anyone who shares work and needs visual feedback. It works great for website reviews, mockups, landing pages, design files, or even PDF documents.

Key Features

  • Click-to-comment on websites, images, and PDFs

  • No login required for clients

  • Shareable links, comment mode toggle

  • Comment sidebar with replies, resolve, and mentions

  • Upload PDFs and images or just paste a URL

  • Project dashboard, team roles, notifications

  • GDPR compliant 🎉

What’s next

We’re improving onboarding, polishing UX, and preparing for Product Hunt. We'd love early feedback from other indie hackers to help shape where we go next!

Thanks for reading – and happy to answer anything!

It's a really good idea. I'm not sure your value prop is immediately clear when I look at the site. I would love to do a full work-up User Panel for it on capture60 (one day I will be able to post links but its DOT COM); but just with my experience doing this for a number of years here are my topline thoughts:

I think the actual value prop it gives me in an organization is this:

🧠 “Feedback is scattered across 10 tools, 6 emails, 3 Slack threads, and no one knows what’s final.”

The true pain isn’t that giving feedback is hard — people still manage to do it.
The pain is that it’s fragmented and impossible to track. You end up with:

    • Comments in Figma

    • Suggestions in Google Docs

    • Edits in PDFs

    • “Quick thoughts” in Slack

    • Emails titled “Small tweaks”

    • A client texting you a screenshot with “What about this?”

    You don’t know:

    • What feedback is latest

    • What’s been seen or acted on

    • Where to even look when it's time to make updates

    So Dotts’ real value is:

“Consolidate all your scattered feedback into one clean, trackable place — no matter where it came from.”

It’s not just about “click to comment.”
It’s feedback centralization, not feedback collection.

---Note: I'm not sure that is exactly what you have built, but as a PM and a team leader I want to streamline the number of places I have to look for something... If you have the $30 in your budget I would love to have you as a client, I think you have a solid idea.

Wow, thank you so much for this thoughtful feedback – seriously appreciated 🙏

You nailed it: our long-term vision with Dotts is to centralize all that scattered feedback into one clean space. Right now, we're starting simple with visual commenting, but we're already thinking about how to solve the bigger chaos you described. Your breakdown really helped clarify the messaging we should focus on. And we’ll definitely work on making that value prop clearer on the site.

I'll check your tool too, looks interesting!

    2. 1

Love the value proposition. Thanks @capture60!!

This is the missing link we all needed! Really good idea 👍🏾 it’s now in my favourites.

  3. 2

Damn, that just made me fall in love with supademo..... I will be ripping that off tonight!

    1. 1

      Yeah its a great tool!

  4. 2

    Let's go!! :))

  5. 1

you’ve nailed the no login friction.... point ...... that’s often the hidden killer in client feedback flows. have you noticed different types of feedback depending on whether users are clients or internal teams?

  6. 1

    What is your review currently?

    1. 1

Hi @kc green, what do you mean with review?

      1. 1

I mean does you website have a review?

About

We started dotts because existing feedback tools were overly complex and expensive — we wanted a simpler, more affordable solution for fast, visual collaboration.
