Woke up this morning to see my 19th download of my [HubSpot CMS Theme] (https://www.drivewebstudio.com/hubspot-cms/themes/demo) which puts me over the $10k rev mark!

Something I've Learned:
HubSpot users who are interested in installing my Theme typically want to demo the theme before buying.

To address this I'm developing new marketing material like a short video demonstrating theme features, putting case studies together, etc.

In addition, I've built a "Lite" version users can install for free to demo. And since I get the contact info of anyone who installs the free version I'll market to this list with up-sell CTAs to the paid version.

LET'S GOOO!

Yesterday I received my 10th paying customer for my HubSpot CMS Theme. Additionally, my assumption that this theme would double as a lead generation tool for hourly HubSpot CMS web dev work is proving true; a high percentage of the purchasers have suggested (or begun to) retain me as their HubSpot CMS developer of record.

Themes on HubSpot CMS are such a new concept that they aren't even available to buy in their Asset Marketplace yet.

But I've been documenting the development on LinkedIn and a company in Switzerland who was apparently following my progress asked me how they can buy my Theme on the day I announced its completion.

The first dollar is the best dollar - 3 months of coding; today it became real.

After 3 months of development, I've launched one of the first ever Themes on the HubSpot CMS platform!

I've built many side projects over the years as a web developer, but this is the first I've ever truly brought to market.

One big lesson is the importance of consistency and continuous improvement.

I woke up every day at 5am for 3 months and worked on the development of this product from 6am-9am before transitioning to my client work.

Time blocking this 3 hours of dev per day enabled me to develop the product while still maintaining my normal work/exercise/sleep schedule.

My passion lies at the intersection of coding and online marketing.

HubSpot is of the best marketing automation platforms on the market and a few years ago I decided to niche into HubSpot CMS website development as I love building lead generation machines.

HubSpot recently announced the deployment of their new CMS which enables businesses to build world class websites using their new drag and drop editor.

Because this was a new technology for HubSpot, there were no drag and drop themes available for customers to download in HubSpot's Asset Marketplace.

So I built one of the first HubSpot CMS drag and drop themes and I'm hoping when HubSpot users will shift to using the new drag and drop editor of HubSpot and download my theme from the Marketplace.
