I’m Alex, a solution architect and founder of Evalo — a tool that evaluates GitHub repositories against defined assessments to make technical hiring faster and smarter.

The idea came from a real pain: filtering coding assessments. Recruiters, hiring managers and code reviewers often receive dozens of submissions and spend hours reviewing them manually — most of which don’t meet expectations. Traditional platforms only check if code “runs,” not whether it’s good.

Evalo changes that. It automatically analyzes each GitHub repo against clear requirements — from architecture and patterns to code quality and test coverage — and scores them consistently.

Evalo also detects when AI tools were used in coding. We don’t treat it as cheating — but when AI is involved, expectations rise. The system automatically adjusts the evaluation bar: code should be not just correct but exceptionally polished to reflect the advantage of AI assistance. This way, scores stay fair and meaningful in a world where AI-generated code is everywhere.
