Fibonacci
A simple number puzzle game for mobile
My product was unexpectedly posted and featured on Product Hunt today. I'm forcing myself to adapt to the situation.
This quickly reinforced something that I have recently been learning slowly. I need to release, launch and post more often, because releasing 3 things at 70% the quality and planning of a single slow release is better for testing hypotheses quickly.
Today, I am releasing Fibonacci. You can download
it from https://patn.games/#fibonacci.
I think I achieved most of what I set out to achieve. The next frontier for me is marketing. I enjoy development, gathering feedback and even the occasional design, but I've never really had experience with marketing.
I have some hope now that I know marketing can be approached systematically and is necessary to help users discover products and services in a cost-effective manner.
If you're looking for a practical approach to marketing, I recommend julian.com, which I discovered through Indie Hackers. It's both well-written and scientific in its approach.

Congratulations on the successful release :) I have to questions:
- Which tool did you use to create the promo video for your app?
- Are you interested to share reviews between our Apps? I would give you 5 stars if you do the same for my app.

Hi @OPunktSchmidt,
Thanks for that. I used After Effects and edited a template that had a permissive licence.
Definitely happy to share reviews. However, tbh I had some hangups using your app. Happy to give specific feedback once you have a product page on IH or through the email you have in your store listing if you prefer?

I would be very happy to receive your honest feedback :) Only in this way I can become better. You can use the email in the store listing.

I didn't want to send this version of the game out. I'd already gotten a decent amount of feedback from my partner. I eventually came around to the fact that I needed to start sending the game to friends and family to start getting more feedback in order to prioritise the many features I had in mind and filter out the non-essential stuff.

I started working on a simple puzzle game with the below aims:
- building my portfolio
- returning to coding projects I enjoy
- practising my skills
- going through the full release of a product
The major milestone for me was making the game lose-able.

I wanted to make a number puzzle game that used familiar game mechanics as a proof of concept. The aim is to encourage users to build number skills as they play in their leisure.
