Fitness Chief
AI Fitness Coach for Indians
I said no. And shipped this in 2 days instead: → PWA — install on home screen like a native app. No App Store needed. → Web push notifications — daily reminders without React Native or App Store review → Email reminders + redesigned templates that finally look like a real product Two days. Zero app store drama. The temptation to build a native app is real. It feels like the "proper" thing to do. But as a solo founder with a day job — React Native would have cost me 2-3 months. PWA gave me 80% of the experience in 2 days. Sometimes the scrappy solution is just the right solution.
Building FitnessChief - AI fitness coach built specifically for Indians.
Just got back from a 5 day vacation with zero marketing activity. Here's where things stand:
→ 170 total visitors
→ 34 signups (20% conversion homepage to register)
→ 3m 12s average visit duration
→ Google starting to send traffic organically
→ 3 blog posts indexed and getting hits
→ ₹0 revenue - freemium model launching at 200 active users
Biggest win this week: the redesign from dark to light theme pushed visit duration from 1m 59s to 3m+ and it's holding.
Biggest challenge: single channel dependency - still 46% LinkedIn traffic.

Two weeks in. Here's what changed: Visitors: 53 → 107 (doubled) Signups: 16 → 24 Ad spend: ₹0 Traffic sources diversifying: LinkedIn still leading but X jumped to 17%, Indie Hackers sending 6%, first blog post getting Google hits. 5 channels sending consistent traffic now. Started completely LinkedIn dependent. Biggest unlock: posting real numbers publicly. People trust transparency over polished marketing. Still free. Still building. fitnesschief.app

I'm a staff frontend engineer. 30 days ago I launched Fitness Chief a free AI fitness coach for Indians because every app told me to eat chicken breast and I was done with it.
Real numbers: 53 visitors, 16 signups, 8 onboarded, zero ad spend
92% of traffic from LinkedIn. Reddit karma system is humbling me daily 😅
When did you launch your paywall? I have 8 active users and have no idea when the right time is.

About
Every fitness app told me to eat chicken breast. I'm Indian. My kitchen has dal and roti. So I built a fitness app that actually understands Indian food.
