May 13, 2026 The real competitor to my startup isn’t another SaaS

I used to think my competitors were CRM companies.

Now I think my real competitors are:

* memory

* sticky notes

* spreadsheets

* WhatsApp chats

* “I’ll reply later”

That completely changed how I think about positioning.

Because the real problem isn’t:

“people lack software.”

It’s:

“people don’t realize how much revenue they lose from disorganized follow-up.”

May 13, 2026 I realized most small businesses don’t actually need a CRM

The more user interviews I do, the more I realize most freelancers and small business owners don’t want “CRM software.”

They want:

* a simple way to remember leads

* reminders to follow up

* visibility into overdue conversations

That’s it. Most existing CRMs feel like they were built for sales teams at large companies, not individuals juggling WhatsApp chats, client work, and daily operations.

I think there’s a huge gap between:

“enterprise sales software”

and

“simple follow-up systems for normal businesses.”

That gap is exactly what I’m exploring with FollowHQ.

May 12, 2026 Most Freelancers Problem

Most freelancers don’t have a lead problem.

They have a follow-up problem.

Leads come in…

then disappear inside WhatsApp chats and mental notes.

FOLLOW HQ solves that problem

May 12, 2026 Main reason people lose clients

You probably didn’t lose the client because they weren’t interested.

You lost them because you forgot to follow up.

    The follow-up problem is real and massively underestimated. Leads disappearing into WhatsApp chats is something every freelancer and small business owner has experienced but most don't connect it to lost revenue — they just think the client "went cold."

    The conversion challenge for a tool like this is that the pain is invisible until someone calculates what it's actually costing them. If your landing page doesn't make that number concrete — even an estimate — people feel the problem but don't feel enough urgency to pay.

    What does your current onboarding look like — do you ask about their follow-up process or jump straight to setup?

      You nailed one of the hardest parts of selling this.The pain exists, but it’s silent.People remember the leads they closed.They rarely remember the leads they forgot.And honestly, the onboarding currently jumps into setup faster than it should. I’m starting to think the first experience should focus more on helping users recognize how chaotic their current follow-up process actually is.Thank you so much for Ur feedback 🙏. You just opened my eyes.

I noticed freelancers, real estate agents, and small business owners who get leads but lose money by forgetting to follow up.
