August 23, 2019 Onward and Upwards

Free Vector Maps continues to rise globally, and has cracked the top 30k websites in the United States. Not bad for a niche site created and maintained by one person.

FVM is also in the top 100k sites in the world. Thanks to everyone for supporting the site!

July 25, 2019 A Map is Downloaded Every Minute

I'm happy to announce that a map is downloaded on average every minute of the day on Free Vector Maps. It's a pretty amazing accomplishment considering it's a relatively small site in a niche market (not too mention it's only me).

The global reach of FVM has been very cool to see grow over the years!

I've often thought about creating other sites, more community driven than FVM (and I have a few great URLS to work with, just not enough time to learn server less tech πŸ™), and would love to hear from other founders who have done this and what their experiences have been.

You can check out which maps are being downloaded in real time on the site at: https://freevectormaps.com/activity

Congratulations! What's your main driver for FB likes? I find it difficult to grow on Facebook - not sure how best to organically grow it.

Hi Brandon. I found that after displaying social media buttons after a user downloads a map, the FB likes and Twitter follows have grown exponentially. Due to the fact that 99.99% of the maps are free to download (hence the name πŸ˜€), the likes have become effectively a social media payment in a sense.

Brilliant idea. Maybe I can incorporate this into the extension we have for markd.co and show social buttons after someone's used it! πŸ˜‰
