Hypefury
The ultimate Twitter growth tool for (personal) brands!
We just reached a fantastic milestone.

Here are some of the learnings
We doubled down on search
Our search traffic has continued to grow steadily.

We almost doubled our traffic compared to 6 months ago and we expect that growth to continue.

We launched an email newsletter
Our "Twitter growth notes" are sent out once a month. It's basically a mix of how to grow your account and things that happened in the past month. You can subscribe here.
Almost 5,000 people have signed up for the newsletter so far.

We mostly get new subscribers by creating threads / cool tweets. Whenever they perform well our software adds "an autoplug" that links to our free Twitter growth course. Downloading the course will opt you into our newsletter.

As a Twitter growth tool, we eat our own dog food of course.
Keep listening to our users, keep helping them as much as we can and keep implementing cool new features
One of our latest features is that we automatically change your posting schedule based on when your followers are online.

And we're pretty well known for our great customer support. We have people on call 16 hours a day during the week and 8 hours a day during weekends. And we try to help people as much as we can, whenever we can.

Our next goal is 40k MRR. We're going to double down on Affiliate & Influencer marketing. We're expanding our marketing team and adding a lot more features.
If you're active on Twitter, you should definitely try Hypefury.
Whohooo!
People are paying us over 10,000 Dollars per month! What an incredible milestone.

Hypefury has been around for over a year now and we've grown at a pretty decent rate. We help solopreneurs and Indiehackers like yourself to grow an audience faster on Twitter.
Our growth has been about 10% month over month. If we keep this pace for a few more years we'll be really happy campers. Still, a lot of work to do though! :)
Here are some of the learnings
For the past 12 months, we've seen steady growth in search traffic.

This is without 1 article we wrote though.
There was a change in the Twitter UI because of the US elections. The way you can RT has changed. We wrote an article about it because we saw lots of people talk about it.
The below graph is the same graph as above but it includes the search traffic from that article:

Massive!
We gained over 100 leads and lots of eyeballs on our brand and on Twitter.
The tweet referenced in the article was retweeted 130 times.

The lesson?
Follow industry changes and you can rank on super high volume keywords in a matter of hours. About 6 - 12 hours after I published the article search traffic was pouring in.
It took me about 30 minutes to create the article so the ROI has been great. Here a link to the article.
You need to keep engaging your affiliates
We have hundreds of affiliates and they're an important factor in our growth. But Hypefury is not that big a deal in their lives of course. They have a ton of things on their plate and Hypefury is one of them.
That's why you need to stay top of mind. Every time I send them an email I see increased activity on their end.
I try to make it as easy as possible for them to share Hypefury by creating tweets they can quickly share. It already includes their affiliate link and can basically earn money without doing any work.
Our next goal is 15k. Hopefully, our growth continues on this path and starts to accelerate a bit more as well :)

Amazing! I remember seeing Hypefury cross $4,000 in MRR and I was certain this was going to be a success.
Well done to you and Samy!

Awesome! congrats, have you been impacted with the fact twitter offers a feature to schedule tweets now?
-
1
Thanks Mark! We weren't impacted at all really. I think it's a good thing that more people can now schedule tweets. We don't have to spend money on educating users. They can now look for better solutions themselves.

Amazing, what are your user acquisition channels? are they paid or not? I'm learning how to get traffic to my site. Any tips?

Congrats on exploiting this magic threshold: 10K MRR. Only few companies ever reach it. Our firm is on the path to reach this milestone this month too. Fingers crossed!
Question.
You seem to know Twitter really well. Could you elaborate a bit more on how you got going with Twitter and how you attract lots of retweets? I am so clueless!

Hey Alex,
Thanks man! Good luck reaching your big milestone too! :)
I wrote a guide on Indiehackers which might help you? If you have any other questions, post a comment below that article or DM me on Twitter :)

2 months ago we launched our podcast: Hypefury Presents. The podcast is for a specific niche. People who want to grow their Twitter audience and increase their revenue from Twitter.
If you, as an Indiehacker, aren't (active) on Twitter yet, you are missing out on a huge audience and a growth machine for your business.
Twitter's algorithm is still the most friendly as discoverability is concerned. If you have a great tweet, you can literally reach thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people.
I have 5,000 followers and can easily reach tens of thousands of people. What if you could do the same with your business?

That's why we started the podcast. We interview people who've seen massive growth on their Twitter account and dissect what works and what doesn't.
So far we've had 8 episodes.
#1 LifeMathMoney (Twitter account with over 180k followers) on how he grew it so fast in under 2 years. https://share.transistor.fm/s/7efd9994
#2 Jose Rosado (over 40k followers) how he started on Twitter and now makes a living off it. https://share.transistor.fm/s/f36e8729
#3 Jack Butcher (from Visualize Value) on how to find your voice on Twitter https://share.transistor.fm/s/a0877d25
#4 WellPaidGeek who went from a 16k /year dev job to a 6-figure income while starting on Twitter https://share.transistor.fm/s/50196c35
#5 @arvidkahl on how to validate your business idea and ways to grow your Twitter account https://share.transistor.fm/s/9bf4dbe1
Etc. Etc.
Learnings
We have a few more guests lined up but that's also my main learning point. Plan ahead. Contact people weeks in advance. Have multiple irons in the fire.
Finding guests isn't even the hard part. Always ask the person you interviewed if they know anyone that would be a good fit. They can even give you a warm intro (if you ask nicely ;-))
Harassing them in a friendly way is the hard part. Your recording is probably the last thing on their mind.
Make sure they know, that you know, what they want out of it. It should be a win-win and not a one-way street.
Sound quality
I hate listening to a podcast with bad sound quality. I invested in a decent microphone and I record everything with https://zencastr.com/. You get 2 audio streams so it's easy to edit the background noise.
We use an external editor to make sure everything sounds crisp.
Share your podcast (again and again)
The show ain't over once it's aired. The show has in fact just started. Email your list about it. Share it on Twitter and other social channels.
This is something we still have to improve. We're not sharing it again and again yet. Starting this week (thanks to this live reminder) we will.
Don't look at the numbers (too much)
I have a goal in mind for the end of the year for the average number of downloads. But the most important part for us is building an asset for our business. It's "create once and reuse forever".
The podcast gives us a competitive advantage over others in our industry. We're "loading" our brand. Showing people we're very serious about helping them grow. Not just with our social media SaaS but in many more ways.

Less than 12 months after launching we reached a great milestone! Hypefury is a 6-figure business!!! Yeah!

At the moment of this writing, we’re serving almost 600 customers and we’ve been growing quite steadily over the last couple of months.

Our biggest challenge is keeping our churn under control. We’re a little over 10% and that’s a bit too high.

Creating a habit-forming product
We’re implementing all sorts of features so our users have an easier time forming a habit around our product.
We don’t offer a magic pill to grow your Twitter audience but we do make it a lot easier to do.
You still need to put in the work though and we see that a lot of people just fall off because they fail to put in a consistent amount of work to create and hone tweets.
We're introducing a 1-click-schedule-a-tweet email when you're queue is empty.
We're introducing a weekly digest email to show you what your best tweets were so you can learn and improve your Twitter game.
User behavior is key
It’s not always clear to our users what value we bring outside a great way to schedule tweets.
We also didn’t really know and focus on what features people are using and what features lead to a higher CLV or lower churn.
We just implemented Amplitude which is a great way to get insights on the use of your app.

Indiehackers can apply for their scholarship program here. You can get access to their growth plan if you’re admitted which retails for $40,000 /year!!
In the coming months, we'll see how the use of different features has an impact on churn rate. We already see features that are, in our mind, under-used.
We'll create videos to explain how the feature works and, more importantly, what the benefit to the user is.
The future
We're very excited about the future! We started working with OKR's so our entire team can see how they can make an impact on revenue and churn. We've set a pretty high bar for our revenue growth in the next couple of months. We should reach 10k MRR within the next couple of weeks!

I absolutely love the auto retweet of evergreen posts feature. I have tied a lot of twitter schedulers, but always missed having this (or some similar) feature.
Signed up for trial already.
May I ask how you got your initial free and paid customers?

How do you afford your team? Are they part time or all full time? Any tips for other bootstrapping startups near your revenue mark on hiring talent? Are you guys a remote team?

Samy and I don’t take any salary.
Our whole team is remote. We hire most of our developers via Upwork.
Customer Happiness is more from our own network :)
They’re not full time so we can afford a few more people. :)

@YannickVeys Could you share what contributed most to growth? which strategies did you implement?-

Thanks MrS!
Our affiliate program is doing well.
We just started a podcast. Hypefury Presents (need to post a new milestone!! 😂) which will help our brand awareness.
Keep our users happy :) We're in a very viral space which is a benefit but can also be a big liability if we f*ck up. So we invest heavily in customer happiness and take their problems really seriously.

Thanks for sharing!
Taking care of users is definitely important and it also shows the seriousness of a company!Good luck with the next steps!

We hit another significant milestone this week. We reached $6,000 MRR after a little over six months of being in business.

Super proud so many people are finding our Twitter scheduling and automation tool super handy!
I decided to dedicate this milestone to an exciting learning all Indie Hackers can benefit from.
How affiliate marketing can accelerate the growth of your Indie Project
We’re running an affiliate marketing program that is very successful. With affiliate marketing, you’re outsourcing a considerable part of your marketing to people who can directly benefit from it. As an Indie Hacker who’s mostly into code, this gives you access to a worldwide marketing team.
You can learn a lot from what your affiliates are saying about your product. Most Indie Hackers are probably also too shy or too modest to appear on YouTube.
Below you'll find a small selection of videos created about our product on YouTube. (There are dozens)

Here I’m doing a Google search without including our domain to see how many other pages are talking about us. A big part of that is because of affiliate marketing.

Yes, we offer a significant part of our revenue to our affiliates, but a considerable gain in marketing effort is offsetting it. They are generating the awareness for our product, and we only pay a fraction we would otherwise pay if we did it all our selves.
Below you'll see the search volume and number of clicks on our branded keyword Hypefury (taken from Google Search Console).

Biggest takeaway up until here: affiliate marketing works great, and I suggest every Indie Hacker starts a program themselves. Most Indie Hackers are not that good in marketing. Luckily other people can do it for you!
The dark side of affiliate marketing.
Look back at the graph containing the brand name Google searches and clicks. Anything out of the ordinary? What’s weird about the chart? Look at April 20th and beyond. Our number of clicks drop. Not much, but you can definitely see it in the graph.
I decided to start digging in Google Analytics and found one traffic source that was sending a lot of traffic.

Someone was sending a bunch of traffic to our website… Hmm, 🤔 who could it be?? :)
If you’re running an affiliate program, the answer is usually simple—your affiliate.
I’m okay with them running Google ads on keywords like Twitter scheduler, social media tool, etc. But that’s not what happened here.
I searched for our brand name in Google and lo and behold:

We were advertising on Google!! Complete with a nice Trademark icon. It looked legit. Just like the big guns!! :)
Except this wasn’t us. This was one of our affiliates stealing our traffic. Our branded traffic.
You can advertise on your own (Indie) brand name for a penny a click. So this person is having a laugh sending all that traffic that would otherwise still visit our website via its affiliate link.
If you have an affiliate program or are planning on starting one after this post, the number one rule you must add to your affiliate terms is that they can’t advertise on your brand name and misspellings.
You can’t completely stop people from advertising on your branded searches. You can, however, prevent them from using your brand name in their ad (except for the visible URL). You have to file your trademark (as a Word, not an image). Once you receive your Trademark number, you can apply for brand name protection with Google.
Affiliates who’re doing this kind of marketing aren’t delivering extra traffic. They’re leeching off of your existing traffic. It only costs you money, and it’s the lamest form of affiliate marketing.
Doubling down on our affiliate program has been one of the key drivers of our growth, and we suggest everyone to set it up yourself. Just be vigilant because even if you have clear rules (like we do) some affiliates still try to go for the quick buck.
Stay vigilant! Happy growing!

If anyone is having problems with bad Affiliates bidding on your brand, send me a message! I have a prototype for a monitoring service that keeps track of Bing & Google in any combination of country/ad target that might be relevant for you so you don't need to waste time doing manual work on that. (it works and I'm working on the website for it, so I could give you a sneak peak)
-
1
Sounds interesting :) Thanks for reaching out on Twitter :)
-
-

Congrats! This is awesome, I think this is a channel a lot of Indie Hackers overlook. This is a great write up, I’m planning on doing something similar with my SaaS.
I’m curious what software you are using to track all of this?
-

Thanks Shane!
We’re using Firstpromoter.com
Works pretty good. They’re also bootstrapped and very open to feedback! They implemented a couple of things based on our feedback.

And... This:
"You can’t completely stop people from advertising on your branded searches. You can, however, prevent them from using your brand name in their ad (except for the visible URL). You have to file your trademark (as a Word, not an image). Once you receive your Trademark number, you can apply for brand name protection with Google. "doesn't really work with many cases because that only applies to when it is a domain other than the one your brand lives in (imagine Amazon selling adidas shoes). It's pretty common, for example, in the travel vertical to bid on competitors and add a display url that has their trademark as a subdomain to yours.
Affiliates can bypass this rule because for Google, it is you and him both bidding on "hypefury" and sending people to the official/canonical domain for that brand. This only works in practice when the affiliate link drops the user first in Awin, tradedoubler, etc before redirecting the user to your website.

Hey @YannickVeys,
Awesome post, congrats on the milestone.
Are you using any third-party software to handle all of your affiliate onboarding, commission payments, and management? Thanks in advance!
-
2
Hi Timothy,
We're using Firstpromoter :) It works pretty good.
-
-
2
This is great advice. I would have never thought to look for people doing Google ads targeting our brand name.
-

Thanks Dustin!
-

2
Nice. Thinking of doing something similar. How much of the MRR goes to the affiliates?

Send me a DM on Twitter :) I'll share some info.

Thank you @YannickVeys, very helpful!

Thanks Nathan!

2
Great post. As someone who has dabbled with affiliate marketing in the past, yeah, it's very uncommon for a brand to not have the PPC restrictions in place in their affiliate program.
How did you recruit your affiliates though? Did FirstPromoter handle that entirely, or did you reach out to potential affiliates yourself?
-
4
You have to that yourself :) we have it as part of our onboarding emails. We tell our users that “our affiliate is now open for you” to also give them a sense of exclusivity. Don’t forget to create a page that is dedicated to your own affiliate program. We have it on our twitter profile twitter.com/Hypefury too.
-
-
2
Wow, well done! And thanks for the heads up :)

@YannickVeys Wow so basically you are running your own affiliate program and someone created a Google Ad that leads to your landing pages but with their affiliate id?
So they pay for the ad but earn commission from your affiliate program?-
2
Hey. The issue is not that they're running ads. The issue is that they're running ads for the term "hypefury" effectively hijacking search results and leeching off people who type our name on google.
-
-

Super insightful post, Yannick. My biggest takeaways were:
Most Indie Hackers are not that good in marketing. Luckily other people can do it for you!
So true. I’m great at hacking, not great at marketing. Affiliate could be a way to solve that.
Someone was sending a bunch of traffic to our website… Hmm, 🤔 who could it be?? :) If you’re running an affiliate program, the answer is usually simple—your affiliate.
I never thought about the fact that affiliate marketing could cause a misalignment of interests.

1
Thank you for this awesome post! :) when did you start your affiliate program? I mean...first, you should know the customer lifetime value, right?
-
3
We pay a % of our revenue. We don't pay an amount per new user. The longer that referred user stays the more the affiliate gets paid.
You can guestimate your LTV early on. Just divide your (avg) monthly subscription price by your (expected) churn rate.
-
2
I set up the affiliate program before the official release date.
I couldn't know the ltv back then (and even now it's too early to know it).
I just knew that I'd be having more users and making more money with an affiliate program as long as I don't give 80% of the revenue. :) One user is better than 0 user.
-
-
1
Thanks for sharing @YannickVeys. At least it is great that you caught this when you did. A lesson learned no doubt, but better to learn it now than further down the line.
-
1
Awesome learnings here, @YannickVeys! Thanks for sharing.
I'm curious, are you open to sharing your CAC on the affiliate side? How much are you left with out of your 6k in MRR once you've paid your affiliates?
We've been considering this for a new product we are launching and it would be helpful to gain a couple more data points!
-
1
Send me a dm on twitter

Great post thanks Yannick.
On the affiliate commission front, wondering how you calculated what amount you were prepared to offer affiliates?
How would you change commission rates the next time you work with affiliates?
Thanks again!
-
1
I am replying as I set up the affiliate program before Yannick joined Hypefury.
The truth is that there isn't a simple formula to figure out the affiliate percentage you must give.
You must use intuition. It shouldn't be too high, it shouldn't too low, it should be fair in time (how long to give commission for?), it should be competitive with other affiliate programs in your niche, it should be comparable to what your affiliates are used to (in the twitter money niche, people are used to 50% on an ebook), etc.-
1
Thanks @samy_
You are right, figuring out what the averages in the niche are a good way to start with.
-
-
1
Thanks Chomp!
We pay based on the revenue they bring in on a recurring base. As long as the user they referred stays they get paid.
We might not use different tiers next time.
-
1
Thanks @YannickVeys
-
-
-
1
Really great. I am an affiliate website publisher and reading this through your eyes gave me a valuable perspective!
-
1
Thanks Steve! Great to be of value.
-
-
1
That was one thing I was always wondered about affiliate marketing. I figured that why wouldn't someone just advertise on the company name and/or build other PPC ads? I guess you proved that point but also gave good guidance on how to avoid that happening to yourself. Thanks for the lesson!
-
1
You’re welcome Rod!
Ads on other keywords besides our brand name is fine of course but advertising on our brand name is just lame.
-
-
1
Awesome Yannick, affiliate marketing is something I'm looking more and more into 🙌
-
1
Thanks Maxime! If you have any questions just send me a msg!

Wow! We weren't expecting to grow so rapidly after Corona hit. We actually saw our churn rate go up a bit. Our user growth really increased a lot more though 😁 We were at $1,000 MRR in January.
We initially planned to hit 10k MRR at the end of the year but we've revised our plans. Our new goal is 20k MRR EOY!
We're an open company and you can find our numbers on Baremetrics: hypefury.baremetrics.com
How did we get here?
- Our audience has been an important part of our growth.
We've been dedicated to help them as much as we can in any way possible. If they contact us through Intercom we respond fast and go above and beyond in helping them.
We've had so many nice comments in our Intercom logs, on Twitter and via e-mail telling us they love our support.
We're building a brand and we're just starting. Building a brand is like building a huge castle. All the bricks are important but the ones at the bottom (at the beginning) carry the most weight. If they show cracks early on, who knows when they give in and the whole building collapses.
It's really important to keep your users happy. To listen to them and to act on their feedback.
We had one person who wanted a refund and we didn't blink our eyes and just gave that person the money back. We asked why only after he received his money back.
Those bricks (people who want to leave) are also part of your community, wether you like them leaving or not. Them not paying you doesn't mean they don't give you any value. So don't only look at the people who're paying you.
- Be an open communicator.
We've actually been a victim of our own success. Hypefury.com is a scheduling tool for Twitter. Twitter offers a free API but with limits. We started hitting those limits in the past few weeks because of our growth. We immediately reached out to Twitter as we were reaching the limits. Unfortunately due to Corona they had a massive backlog in requests and weren't able to get back to us before our users started experiencing problems.
We sent an email to all our users even though only a few people were impacted. We want our users to trust us in good times and bad. We sometimes have issues but as long as everyone knows what's up, they can live with it and support us.
If you try to hide things from your audience it will backfire.
We also let them know the second Twitter got back to us with good news. We can know facilitate all their tweets and as many as we like!
- Build what your fans want.
We have a group of people that are part of our inner circle. They're very active on Twitter and as such know exactly what they're missing. We poll them to see what new things we've planned strike a chord and what doesn't.
We're in a tiny niche right now and we're doing everything we can to make those people happy. We made an integration with Gumroad and are launching an automated sales feature very very soon. A lot of people will love this. They can make money while they sleep. Literally.
We're going to integrate with a lot more platforms and make our tool even more useful to more people.

Congratulations! I totally get you. We hit that milestone a few months back, and it was a really good feeling to know you have enough spare cash coming in over and on top of just 'paying the bills'. Very cool and motivating feeling. Wishing you all success!

Yeah we're spending everything again on more developers, customer support, etc. :)
We should hopefully also get a paycheck in the near future!! ;-)

Awesome! Really good to see that you can build good business in a niche. Are you planning on expanding your solution to other socials, or keeping focused on twitter?
Sidenote: compliments on the design language. I like it a lot 👌

Thanks for the compliments Doc! :)
Yes so right now we have a small feature to make your life easier on Instagram. We create an "Insta-shot" for you. Basically your tweet as an image you can directly post on Instagram.
We have plans for other socials too. But we're not done with Twitter yet :) Our audience (right now) is mostly there and we have good traction.
-
1
Awesome! Was this always the plan? Or are you acting based on user feedback / opportunities you see?
I'm curious as I'm working on my own niche seo product, but have a larger vision. With your story i see It's taking small steps that pay off. Controlled growth :)

We mostly building using user feedback. The IG feature was the idea of one of our users.
Sometimes we experiment with new things but only if we believe it can convert potential users or make current users upgrade to a higher plan.

Thanks Doc, will tell our designer. :)
We already started expanding to Instagram by generating a "tweetshot" of the tweet and offering users to publish it on IG. Next step would be to add Facebook cross posting.
I am not planning to have 100% separate IG or FB publishing. User aren't requesting them and there are so many things we can do already that would provide more value.

Big congrats on this! And everything you said is true... building a brand, focusing on the customer... that will carry you through things like sudden API changes, downtime, or big industry shifts.
It’s not easy to thrive in this space with so much competition. I know because SMM is my world. And I’ve used and or worn about countless social media management apps.
People reach out to me on what seems like a weekly basis pitching me their new social scheduling/management app. Your product has definitely gotten my attention.
I think there may be some opportunity for us to collaborate.

Thanks for the kind words Dustin! Means a lot!
Yeah it's a tough space. We don't look much at the competition. We know they're there but we focus on our users and their wants to create a better product every day.
I just followed you (here and on Twitter). Let's have a chat about a possible collaboration! Sounds interesting! My DM's are open.

I think you guys have quite a bit of potential to become the next hot SMM tool :)
Not sure if you already have this on your roadmap, but it would be cool to browse popular tweets of other people in your industry, not just my own ones. I.e. automate what Bryan has tweeted about - https://twitter.com/Harris_Bryan/status/1120066241618685953
And you definitely need to create your version of https://sparktoro.com/tools/sparkscore
-

Thanks Tim! :) Means a lot coming from you! I ❤️AHREFS! :P If we can reach anywhere near your MRR we would be very very happy.
We have plans to do something like Bryan does yes. So much to do, so little devs ;-)
The Sparkscore is a really good idea! Didn't see that yet. Interesting way to capture leads :)

Great insights Yannick. How do you reach new set of users? What's your most active lead generation source?
-
2
Thanks Neeraga!
We have 2 main sources of lead gen. One is our affiliate program. Lots and lots of people have already subscribed to it.
The other one is a free download on our Twitter profile: https://twitter.com/hypefury of a course to grow you Twitter followers. It's been downloaded over 1,000 times.
People who download the course will receive a sequence of emails to convert them to become a subscriber.

In your Stripe-Verified Revenue https://www.indiehackers.com/product/hypefury/revenue it's marked 8800$+
Did the MVP took you 1 year ? (From august 2018 you had the idea, august 2019 you finished the MVP)
Also should say the Jimmy fallon joke on your story page is a genius move x')
-
2
Hahaha :) Thanks :)
Yeah so I don’t know what the indiehackers revenue is exactly. As far as I can tell that’s not accurate?
@samy_ started building Hypefury Aug 2019 if I can remember correctly. Took him a few weeks to finish the MVP.
-

Hey Saad. It took me few days to have a working MVP: https://twitter.com/SamyDindane/status/1160696449996414976
I stayed in private beta for around 4 months.
The Stripe Verified Revenue is literally that: revenue. So you could have a month with a lot of yearly payments (= lot of cash), which increase that month's revenue, but only with a small impact of your MRR.
Our metrics are publicly available here: hypefury.baremetrics.com.

Are there any other features besides post scheduling? Would be great to see analytics, benchmarks etc.
-
2
Yes, so right now we show insights. What tweets get most likes and RT's. Not real analytics / benchmarks yet because we need access to the Enterprise Twitter API.

https://hypefury.com is a social media tool to manage your Twitter account. In a nutshell, you can schedule and automate your tweets. It saves you time and increases engagement. We've been growing nicely over the past few months and are now ready to expand our team.
We went from about $1,500 MRR in February to over $4,000+ MRR in March so far (which is a nice milestone by itself 😂)
Our new MRR also means we can support a new role. We've seen a lot of competitors popup around us (which means we're doing something right 😉) but it also means we want to stay ahead of the pack. Not just by staying the biggest Twitter tool out there but also if you look at the features we provide our users.
That's why we're very excited to announce we'd like to take on a full time senior developer in our team. We can't offer Silicon Valley rates though 😂. But I think we can offer someone a nice income and a warm welcome in our team. We're fully remote and welcome digital nomads. We have a long term engagement in mind.
We're using Google Firebase for our backend and VueJS.
If you know anybody or are interested yourself, don't hesitate to contact us!

A big milestone for any Indiehacker. 100 people actually paying for your product 🎉 🎉. In our case a Twitter Scheduling and Automation tool https://hypefury.com.
Over the past few months we landed hundreds of users through various channels.
Our affiliate program https://hypefury.firstpromoter.com/ is an important part of our growth engine. We offer a percentage of revenue perpetually.
We're testing other channels right now. We landed over 150 leads from people downloading our free ebook on Gumroad about how to grow your Twitter account. https://gumroad.com/l/ahvEV
We've tried a couple of PH-like websites like 10words https://app.10words.io/archives/775/2020-01-31/10words-top-picks-from-this-week and betapage https://betapage.co/startup/hypefury 10words did pretty good. Betapage (a Betalist.com copycat did pretty shit 🤔).
As a startup it's important to test new things but also to double down on the things that work already. We've seen some great initial traction with our affiliate program so we're expanding on that and creating custom deals with our fans that have the biggest audiences.
We're also reaching out to blog owners that talk a lot about social media to see if they're interested in our affiliate program.
A great way to find people who talk about your niche is actually Pinterest. Search for keywords in your niche and see who's writing about it. Because of the visuals you can easily identify who's a match and who's not.
In the ebook on Gumroad we're suggesting people to join our Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/GrowYourTwitter/ to help each other get a bigger following on Twitter.
So far we're at 20 members and counting 😂😂 It's also another way to keep in touch with (potential/future) users.
When I decided to create an app to schedule threads as a proof of concept and as a way to learn new tech, I didn't expect it to grow to a tool that would help makers automate their online presence and free more time to help other people.
I am proud of where Hypefury has come and grateful to my users for their trust, enthusiasm and patience.

Congrats! This seems like a pretty good alternative to Buffer - definitely a lot more educational. Keep it up! I added some feedback on That App Show
After four months of building the product, helped by the feedback of many amazing users, I am proud to open the gates to Hypefury for everyone.
I am also running a big giveaway on Twitter (free premium accounts and tons of ebooks), in partnership with many personal brands expert, in order to promote Hypefury.

How have you found so many customers so quickly? This is insanely impressive progress 👏
-

Thanks Ramy!
Actually Hypefury makes only ~$500 MRR. The $2k number shown by Stripe includes the yearly subscriptions.
I've been on Twitter for a while and had some connections.
I asked my friends to try it, and reached out to many people through cold DMing and introductions from friends.I started inviting users in the private since the early days.
I had (and still have) a Telegram group with the users, that allowed me to keep in touch with them and easily gather feedback.-

$500 MRR after four months is still very impressive. Building the product and finding customers at the same time is no easy task so what you’ve achieved is super impressive.
Good luck with the launch and the rest of the journey 🚀

About
I created Hypefury to fill a hole in the market of tweets scheduling apps: none of them allows to schedule Twitter threads (suite of related tweets).

Hey Yannick —
I’m validating a potential infra product and trying to sanity-check something with real SaaS operators.
When Hypefury was in the $20k–$50k MRR range, did you ever deal with Stripe subscription state drift or entitlement edge cases?
Specifically: users getting access when they shouldn’t, or losing access when they were paying.
I’m trying to understand how painful billing correctness actually is at that stage.
20K is impressive!
Your screenshots say "clicks" and "impressions", is it some PPC dashboard?
Also, what is that Jun 16 spike? Is it from a viral tweet?
Thanks!
Clicks and impressions is google search console.
16th is a viral tweet yes :) We got 350 new subs from 1 single tweet.
How does your expansion revenue looks like? Is MRR's growth driven mostly by fresh users?
Yep! Mostly new users. How would you increase expansion revenue?
Is that something you could automate to increase MRR??
Yeah we could but how would you suggest we do it?
Can I shoot you a loom video monday or tuesday? what is your email?
Yannick [@] hypefury dot com
Congrats!
I see literally dozens of products popping up with more or less the same offering.
How do you differentiate?
We have @samy_
Awesome man...keep it up.
Thanks!
Hello - I'm that guy who keeps sending you chat messages haha! Great to see how far you and your team have come! I've been a fan for a few months now and like your features (staying ahead) + customer support (listening to me lol) the most.
lol 😂
