Update: Just Log Hits $20 MRR in Under a Week 🎉

A quick update since my launch post a few weeks ago!

When I launched Just Log on June 25th, it started as a simple idea: build the workout tracker I wanted to use — no feeds, no coaches, no spammy notifications, just logging workouts fast and getting back to lifting.

Back then:

  • Android launched first → 0 sales for weeks.

  • iOS was “coming soon.”

Now:

  • iOS launched → 10 paying subscribers in less than a week (~$20 MRR).

  • 100+ active Android users (still $0 revenue).

  • A growing waitlist of 200+ people from building in public.

Checking App Store Connect and seeing sales trickle in was surreal. Each one felt like a lottery win. Not life-changing money, but validation that people really do want a minimalist, no-bullshit fitness tracker.

What Changed

  1. Platform matters more than I thought
Same app, same price. Android = 0. iOS = 10 paying users almost instantly. iOS users convert.

  2. Pricing worked
$1.99/month vs competitors at £9.99/month. 5x cheaper is the feature.

  3. Building in public paid off
My first subscribers came from my waitlist + Twitter followers who saw the journey. What Changed

What’s Next

  • Growing to $100 MRR and Beyond

  • Rolling out more customization features

  • Continuing to double down on simplicity over bloat

Congrats, love the clean focus. A friendly idea you could try: add an annual plan around 11 to 14 dollars to bank early LTV, and on Android test a one time lifetime unlock since subs convert slower. Also, quick question, do you prompt for a rating after a few workouts?

Cool concept, site looks neat. I've dropped you a follow on X and I'm excited to follow you in your journey! :)

P.s. congrats on your 20$ MRR, that's a huge starting milestone!

The idea for Just Log came about when I noticed two things:

  1. I was paying more money for fitness apps where I used maybe 10% of the features

  2. Every workout became a fight through social feeds and notifications just to log basic sets

So I decided to create an app that would focus purely on efficient workout logging without any bloat - no social feeds, no meal planning, no AI coaches stating the obvious.

The app was developed over the course of 4 weeks while building in public on Twitter. The goal was to create an intuitive interface that gets you OUT of the app as fast as possible - log your sets, track your progress, get back to lifting.

Just Log includes 1000+ exercises with smart search, color-coded calendar routines, personal record tracking, and custom daily counters for bodyweight movements. Future releases will include the iOS version and additional workout customization features.

I was paying more money for a fitness tracking app where I used maybe 10% of the features. Every workout, I'd fight through social feeds, notifications So I built the opposite: Just efficient logging for £1.79/month.
