Latitude: Location Sharing

Transparent location sharing that notifies you when checked.

July 9, 2026 Built a transparent location sharing app that notifies you when checked. Looking for advice on growing the audience.

I built Latitude, a Find My / Life360 alternative where every time someone

checks your location, you get notified with their name and the time. No

silent checking, no location history. Subscription only, no ads.

~150 downloads so far, all from a couple of organic Reddit posts. I haven't

actually done any real distribution. The people who've responded are mostly

privacy-minded folks, but I think the real market for this category is

parents and teens, the same audience Life360 has, and I have no channel into

them at all.

Trying to figure out where to put my time next:

  • Instagram/Facebook ads targeting parents

  • Micro-influencers (parenting/mom accounts, teen-facing TikTok/IG)

  • Anything else you'd try before spending on either of the above

If you've done paid UA or influencer outreach for a low-price consumer

subscription app, especially one where the buyer (parent) and user (teen)

are different people, I'd love to hear what actually worked and what

didn't. Happy to share more detail if useful.

App, if curious: latitudelocation.com

About

There should be a location sharing app for people who want to be findable, but know they aren't being tracked. Latitude does this by allowing you to share your location, but know every time someone checks.
