Launch Your SaaS Product in Days, Not Months
On June 9th, inspired by "Think and Grow Rich," I gave myself a 30-day challenge: make my first $10 online. I'm a software engineer, so I decided to sell what I know.
I built LaunchKit AWS, a SaaS boilerplate for developers. The pitch is simple: stop wasting weeks on the repetitive setup of authentication, payments, and UI components. Use my kit and start building your actual product on day one.
I created a landing page and then did the most challenging part: Talking to people. I sent DMs on Reddit and Twitter to developers who looked like they were starting new projects.
For 3 weeks, it was completely silent. My Google Analytics showed 239 page views, but my Stripe balance was $0.
Then, last Friday, it happened. A sale. $24.99.
Here's the interesting part. The customer wasn't a founder building their dream app. He's a developer who buys SaaS kits and resells them. He saw the value in the code itself.
The first thing he asked me after buying? "Do you have an affiliate program?"
We set it up on the spot. 50% commission. He's now my first customer and my first affiliate.

Your First Customer Might Not Be Who You Expect: I was looking for founders. I found a reseller. It's a completely different customer profile I hadn't even considered.
Leverage Every Win: One $25 sale is nice. But that one customer, now turned into a motivated sales channel, is potentially worth far more.
The original challenge was $10. I've hit that. Now, the new challenge is to turn this $25 into $100 by July 9th, just 8 days from now.

For everyone here who's made their first sale, what was the one thing you did after that you wish you'd done differently?
LaunchKit AWS is my first initiative on making money online. My challenge is to make $10 in 30 days, and I've found a SaaS kit to be a good solution for this. As a developer I've spent a lot of time setting up configuration for authentication, payments and UI components on several different projects. Although each project is unique, I noticed that I was frequently copying boilerplate code across projects.
LaunchKit AWS solves this problem. It lets you focus on actually building and launching your product instead of worrying about configuration and repeated boilerplate

Im looking for one such kit. My idea is to launch a service that offers travellers the tools they need to visit a new country. Visas, Tickets, Bookings, etc. However, I do not want to go through the journey of building all those blocks.

Looks clean — having all the AWS setup ready is super useful when you just want to test ideas fast without wasting time on infra.
