We keep repeating things in chat. Things get lost.
We keep repeating things in chat.
Things get lost.
I kept running into this across every groupchat I’m in.
Not a planning issue. Just things disappearing in chat.
I’m building Lyncus, a household management chat app, to fix that. Near launch:

With Lyncus, things actually get done.

I noticed something in every group I’m in.
Not chaos. Not bad planning.
Just… the same things coming back.
“Did we already decide this?”
“Can someone do this?”
“Wait, what was the plan again?”
You scroll. You kinda remember.
But nothing actually moved.
It’s like everything important just sinks down over time. Not gone — just buried enough that you stop trusting it’s handled.
So what happens?
You ask again.
And again.
At some point you realize you’re not communicating anymore — you’re just resurfacing unfinished things.
There’s probably a better word for it, but it feels like a quiet graveyard of half-decided stuff sitting inside chat.
Anyway — this is the exact problem I kept running into, so I started building something around it.

Curious how others deal with this.

Hi guys,
I wanted to share my startup project (near closed beta, currently in early adopters private testing)
So, we keep repeating things in chat. Things get lost.
I kept running into this across every group I'm in. Not a planning issue, just things disappearing in chat. Like we say in dutch: "things get at the bottom of the pile".
So instead of yet another productivity app or using some good productivity or family app already out there, i am going for a different angle. Fixing chat so nothing get's lost that needs handling.
Besides having your own shared space where you have all the basics in running a household, chat is connected with all aspects and also works as an entry point without leaving the conversation.
If you run into the same problem than this might be worth checking out:

Hi Indie Hackers,
I'm building Lyncus to solve a simple problem: families coordinate their lives across too many disconnected tools.
Group chats, calendars, shopping lists, tasks and notes usually live in different apps. That fragmentation creates friction every single day.
Lyncus brings those pieces together into one shared place for:
– calendars
– tasks
– groceries
– meals
– chat
I'm currently preparing an Android beta and would love feedback from other builders and early adopters.
If you're curious or want early access:
