NotifyMe.Music

After two months after launching the site and working with different payment models, I finally got my first payment.
It is not much, only $4 but the fact of payment demonstrates that the service brings value into somebody's day-life. And it is a great feeling to know that your work is useful for somebody :)

After almost a year since the initial launch and half a year of making the service free I came up with the next ideas:

1. Be searchable on the Internet - by launching a dedicated site for NotifyMe.Music - www.notifyme-music.com

2. Provide an API for subscriptions - now every developer is able to subscribe to any artist specifying a custom webhook to trigger once there is a new release.

3. Generate short videos with a song in notification and send them to custom destinations.

A week after I came up with the idea of building NotifyMe.Music, I had a fully operable service that lets you subscribe to a favorite artist and be immediately notified once the artist releases a new song. I launched advertisements in several Telegram channels (10 to 20 in).

During the next months, I had active development and the number of active users grew up to 1000 users.

To my disappointment, I got 0 paid users for 6 months after the initial launch. But the number of users is consistently growing - on average plus 2 users every day. Agree, not much, but I don't give any advertisement.

In the middle of the fall of 2020, I decided to make a service fully free without payable plans.

Two years ago a friend of mine built a Telegram bot that lets anyone subscribe to any artist and be notified whenever the artist releases a new song. But after a year of working on the product, despite several thousand active users, my friend lost interest and decided to abandon the bot.
That was the time when I thought that if there were several thousands of active users, there must be users who will want to pay for the services.
