This past month we've had a few curious individuals sign up and test our website.
Had one unknown individual translate the demo book I wrote in hindi! <3
Since then we've been reviewing our marketing strategy and thinking of new strategies on how to find new users for our website.
We're looking for feedback on how the website feels, feel free to check it out and let us know what you think.
After a few months of hard work, we now have an alpha version of https://www.novalux.io available for use.
We learned so much along the way while working together.
Support us by signing up and sharing. Any and all feedback is welcome.
Many things are bound to evolve quickly to best fit our users.

Whatever it is looks slick, but what is it?

Hey Alex, thanks for the comment.
I completely agree that someone who doesn't know what we're doing would have a hard time understanding what this product is about.
It's essentially a platform that allows users to read, write and translate light novels.
We'll definitely think of a way to better communicate what this platform is about when people land on it.

We've added a banner in hope that it'll make things clearer. We're also working on a full book with complete chapters and translations in multiple examples. Thanks again for the valuable feedback!

I had encountered a troublesome issue early May 2020. An important library on one of our microservices was not working properly.
We were faced with a difficult descision.
Do we keep working with the defective library or do we switch to another and rewrite the whole microservice application?
Since we were in a pre-release phase, we decided it was best to change libraries.
It took a month for me to integrate the new library within the service.
It ended up solving many issues and is a big win for the team and future development!
We decided that it would be awesome to have a short first video presenting the project.
The goal in the future is to expand on how we developped the platform and strategies implemented over time.

As we were nearing the release date for our alpha version, we decided to go ahead and buy the domain name https://www.novalux.io .
There's no turning back now!
Linking the domain name to our servers was an incredible motivational boost for the team.
We defined the MVP together where we listed all the features we wanted in the first version of the product.
It's always a challenge choosing which features to prioritize because sometimes they all sound great.
After a few hours, we had a solid MVP with relative estimations on its difficulty.
We created a trello to better organize on who is working on what.
We felt pretty confident that by early May 2020 we would have an alpha version.
Starting is always the biggest hurtle, but I had always wanted to start something and I felt passionate about asian light novels.
It was at this moment I decided to see if I couldn't get a group going by pitching the idea.
After a roughly a week, I was able to recruit two amazing co-founders Igor (front-end developer) and Dylan (designer)
