March 6, 2026 You should be writing release notes

Something I’ve noticed with a lot of SaaS products: teams ship features constantly, but users never actually hear about them.

Features go live, bugs get fixed, performance improves… but it all happens silently in production. From the user’s perspective, the product barely changes.

Release notes help solve this.

They show customers the product is improving, bring inactive users back, and highlight features people would otherwise miss.

I actually realized this while building my own SaaS. Once we started publishing regular updates, engagement improved more than expected. That’s what eventually led me to build a small tool for managing release notes (onset.io).

But honestly the biggest takeaway is just do it somehow, blog, changelog page, email, whatever works.

February 10, 2026 Embeddable Widget

We’re excited to introduce the refreshed Onset Widget. This newly designed, minimalistic widget enhances your platform by keeping users informed about important updates and notifications without interrupting their ongoing tasks. Its sleek appearance ensures that it integrates seamlessly into the user experience, allowing for a more streamlined workflow.

The standout feature is the popup notification. This widget effectively alerts users to the latest changes or updates through a small notification window that appears on the screen. Users can easily expand this window for more detailed information, ensuring they stay informed without the need to navigate away from their current page.

Embedding the Onset Widget in your existing setup is straightforward. It integrates seamlessly with all JavaScript frameworks, ensuring a smooth user experience. To implement it, navigate to Settings → Widget page and copy the code snippet.

January 23, 2026 New Year New Changes

AI Summaries

We’re excited to introduce our new premium feature: AI-generated summaries. Release notes will now automatically include TLDR summaries created by AI. You can also override any generated summary that doesn’t meet your expectations, giving you control over the content.

Approved Workspace Email Domains

The highly requested feature is now available! Workspace Owners and Admins now can approve specific email domains, allowing anyone with an approved address to join the workspace as members. Only email domains of current workspace members can be approved. To add a domain not currently available, an admin with an email address from that domain must first join the workspace.

Import Subscribers

You can now import subscribers into Onset from other platforms using a CSV file, making it easier to manage your audience. To begin the import process, navigate to Settings → Workspace → Import.

30 Day Trail

You can now enjoy a free trial of any paid plan for a full 30 days. This trial period allows you to explore all the features and benefits of the plan you choose. However, please note that the trial is restricted to new subscribers only and does not apply to existing users who are looking to upgrade their current plans.
