It’s been a while since I shared an update. I got a bit sidetracked with other things, but now I’m back on track—and PitchMirror just got a serious glow-up 💥
Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve been working on this week:
🚀 We’ve Moved to Our New Home:

After months of running on a subdomain, PitchMirror finally has its own proper domain—cleaner, faster, and ready to scale. It feels good. Like moving from a rented room to your own apartment 😎
🤖 A Chat Between Co-Founders (Me, ChatGPT & Claude)
I had a little internal board meeting—with my AI co-founders. The conclusion?
I was so focused on getting new people in, I totally ignored why the people who already arrived weren’t staying. Brutal truth.
So I re-evaluated. And here’s what I’ve done to fix it:
🔍 1. Added User Tracking and Heatmaps
I integrated proper heatmap tracking and session durations. Now I can see:
How long people stay
Where they drop off
What they click (or don’t click)
It’s like watching users silently whisper what’s working and what’s not.
📬 2. Reached Out to Inactive Users
I built a quick n8n workflow that sends personalized emails to users who dropped off mid-flow—along with a short Tally survey to ask why.
Still waiting on responses, but I’m learning more already than I did in weeks of “shouting into the void.”
🎙️ 3. Added In-App Recording
This was a big one. Turns out—many users don’t have a recording handy when they land.
So I built an in-browser recorder.
Now, you can just hit record, speak, and instantly get your AI-powered speech feedback.
No uploads. No friction. No excuses.
🧠 4. SEO & LLM Visibility: The Boring (but Powerful) Stuff
Okay, it wasn’t glamorous, but here’s what I improved under the hood:
✅ Added sitemap.xml with key routes
➕ Manually injected /terms, /privacy, /contact, and FAQ anchors
🔍 Used additionalPaths to include non-static routes
🧾 Structured FAQs with Google-compliant JSON-LD via <Head>
🔗 Refactored all markdown links to clean Next.js <Link> components
🗣️ Improved FAQ clarity + added a visible “Languages Supported” section
🧠 Injected full meta data into /contact and other key pages
📄 Dropped an llm.txt file and validated it with Perplexity for future LLM indexing

Meanwhile Razorpay?
Applied May 29th. Verified May 30th. That fast.
BUT—getting subscriptions to work wasn’t “plug and play.”
Docs were scattered, webhooks needed trial by fire, and I may or may not have shouted at my terminal.
So I did what every annoyed dev does:
Wrote a brutal, step-by-step guide to help other SaaS builders survive the chaos.
✅ Checkout + one-time payments
✅ Plan creation + customer creation
✅ Subscriptions (with total_count and all that mess)
✅ Webhook events with what to actually do when they fire
✅ Real-world diagrams + all Razorpay links
✅ Downsides of Razorpay too (I keep it real)
And yes, I’ll write a follow-up soon on how to combine Stripe + Razorpay in one app.

Today was long. Not the frustrating kind—just head-down, execute, fix, push, test, repeat kind of long. But I’m finally feeling like things are clicking into place for PitchMirror, my AI-powered voice feedback tool that helps professionals improve their spoken English for meetings, interviews, and life.
Here’s what went down:
💳 Stripe is Out, Razorpay is In (for good)
After struggling for weeks with Stripe’s Indian compliance wall, I finally made the decision: removed Stripe entirely from the app.
Instead, I integrated Razorpay Subscriptions. Setup was surprisingly manageable this time, and now users can sign up, get a free trial, and upgrade—all through a local payment flow that actually works in India.
➡️ Tip for other Indian SaaS builders: don’t fight the compliance monster unless you absolutely have to. Go native.
🧑🎨 Landing Page Facelift (Still Not a Designer)
I gave the PitchMirror landing page a much-needed visual upgrade. Nothing too fancy—better spacing, subtle animations, improved hierarchy—but enough that it now feels like a modern SaaS product and not a rushed hackathon project.
I’m still learning UI finesse, but honestly, I’m happy with where it’s heading.
🤖 Added a 3D Character Bot with Spline
The hero section now features a small 3D AI bot, made with Spline. It doesn’t do anything yet—but visually, it adds a friendly face to the product and makes the landing page feel more dynamic and alive.
Feels like a speech coach mascot. And yes, it waves 👋
🛠️ Sentry Setup for Real-time Error Monitoring
Shipped Sentry to track frontend and backend errors. With more users slowly trickling in, I want to make sure no voice uploads fail silently.
Proactive bug awareness = future sanity saved.
🚦 Lighthouse Report Looking Sharp
After some serious cleanup (fonts, lazy loading, image optimization), I ran a Lighthouse check on the landing page:
Performance: 93
Accessibility: 91
Best Practices: 78 (still a couple items on my list)
SEO: 100 🚀
That’s it for today. It’s not flashy, but it’s progress that stacks. Tomorrow, I’ll probably focus on onboarding and maybe record a demo of how the tool works for professionals (and not just beginners—our core use case).

I love your decision to completely skip out on the Stripe pay idea. When something is more difficult than it's worth it can be hard to just take no for an answer. Like dad always said, "keep it simple, stupid!" I'm reminding myself of this line more and more, stripping down and finding different ways around problems that are actually better and easier.
Easier isn't always better. But neither is stupidly-difficult-and-time-consuming.
Way to go. You're making a lot of efforts and improvements, and I see you.

🚧 The Roadblock: Payment Documentation
I hit a blocker with Stripe’s business verification due to strict requirements for Indian founders. Even though the product is ready, I can’t accept payments until the paperwork clears.
Honestly, this caught me off-guard. I thought I had everything in place. But it’s part of the solo founder learning curve.
💡 The Fix: Expanding the Free Trial Instead
Rather than keep everyone waiting, I made a small pivot:
➡️ I extended the free trial to 7 days
➡️ And increased the upload limit to 7 recordings (previously 3)
This way, early users can still try the full experience, test their speech, and start getting feedback without having to pay upfront.
💬 Why I Built PitchMirror
I built PitchMirror because I struggled with sounding confident in meetings, especially when English wasn’t my first language. Most tools felt beginner-focused — I wanted something that gave serious, actionable insights for professionals.
Think of it as a mirror for your voice — helping you track filler words, pacing, and tone over time. It works well for founders, remote workers, or anyone trying to improve spoken communication.

🤯 Stripe India almost broke my MVP launch
This week I hit a wall — not in code, but compliance.
I’m building a solo SaaS to help people speak more clearly and confidently using AI. The app’s ready. The demo’s polished. People are interested.
Then I tried to set up payments with Stripe.
And Stripe said:
❌ Nope. You need a registered business.
❌ A current account.
❌ GST, address proof, business PAN, everything.
I get it — rules are rules.
But as an indie dev just trying to ship and test an idea, this feels like applying for a loan before selling lemonade.
Here's what I learned the hard way:
✅ Stripe India onboarding is not indie-friendly
✅ You can’t go live without business docs
✅ Side-projects and “just testing waters” ideas are blocked by design
I spent more time researching IEC codes and current accounts than working on UX this week 😅
Now I’m asking:
What are other solo founders in India doing for payments?
Razorpay? Something else?
If you’ve figured out a smooth way to collect early revenue without getting stuck in paperwork limbo — I’d love to hear your story.

Really feel this, Sourav setting up payments in India can be tougher than building the actual product.
It’s surprising that with all our digital infrastructure, indie founders still struggle with compliance and KYC.
If systems like Samagra ID, DigiLocker, or UPI verification could integrate better with platforms like Stripe, it could make launching small SaaS products so much easier.
Would love to see India’s digital stack evolve to support solo builders and early-stage creators like you. -

Totally get this Sourav. I've faced and seen this issue with others a few times as well. Don't think we can blame Stripe, given the compliance norms etc.
You should check out Razorpay. I believe there was an option on Razorpay to setup an individual account where not all business docs / registrations are required.-

Yes thanks for the suggestion, I had checked with them and got verified account. But razorpay subscription process is little bit complicated to implement and test compare to stripe. Although trying to set it up as soon as possible 🙂

try Wise bro. i have not used it but does not require you requesting for access. just do the KYC and all the procedures and you are good to go!

Totally feel this. We ran into the same wall with Stripe India, felt like we needed to be a full-blown company just to test an MVP. We ended up exploring alternative platforms before our first sale on Codester. Would love to hear what others are using too?

I am looking into razorpay but the problem with subscription and managing invoice is quite challenging than stripe. I will update here once I sort out the process. Razorpay verified my profile in just 1 day also suggested me over call what to fix to get verified. This is that a support system should be really kudos to Razorpay team

Hey Sourav, totally feel this.
Thanks for calling out the compliance mess. Stripe India’s setup assumes you're already a full-fledged business, which makes life hard for solo devs just trying to validate an idea. Razorpay or Instamojo might be a bit more flexible, but even those aren’t truly indie-friendly. Some even fall back on Gumroad or UPI pre-orders to bypass the paperwork.

I believe setting up the account as an individual instead of a company might resolve the issue. The Stripe support team suggested this, and I’ve already made the change. However, my account hasn’t been verified yet. I’ll let you know once the verification is complete.

Ok, so it seems like this was a false alarm? Basically, I can register as an individual and receive payments from anywhere in the world using Stripe in India?

Maybe yes, My account isn't verified yet also I have requested to stripe support, I haven't heard back too. But in this time I check with razor pay they just call me and share me what is the problem I need to fix and get verified within 24 hours
