prodcontent
Add content to your SaaS, fast.
I came up with the idea for prodcontent while building ZenLeadr, a toolkit for engineering managers.
I needed to add some content for SEO, like articles and posts. I started looking for solution, as I didn't want to re-invent the wheel.
I wanted:
- something that I could integrate directly into the product
- something that I could style accordingly (and easily)
- something that I did not have to host
- something that had a great writing experience
- something that I could get started right away
Initially I hosted myself a Ghost blog instance, and I used its API layer to get the content. I then created a bunch of React component that displayed the content. I had seen this stack replicated by a bunch of other fellas running similar SaaS products.
Hosting this became a headache for me (security patches, upgrades, initial setup, scalability, etc... - I did not want to have anything to do with all of that).
That's when I came up with the idea.
A headless lean CMS for SaaS products that offers not only REST APIs to fetch content, but that also comes with headless React components that are ready-to-style.
You just have to integrate it in your product and write the content.
I'm now busy building prodcontent, adding:
- support for blogs, posts and articles
- a featured knowledge-base
- support for running a product changelog
There's a lot of work to be done!
Here's the website https://prodcontent.com, feedback is always welcome!
