RankDots
AI that turns topics into rankings & traffic
Hey IndieHackers,
Last year I shared RankDots here — an AI tool that groups keywords into topics and helps plan content around topical authority instead of isolated keywords. That part worked pretty well. People liked seeing clear topic clusters instead of huge messy keyword spreadsheets.
But one piece of feedback kept coming up again and again:
“The structure is good… the keywords are right… but the content doesn’t sound like me.”
Fair point. A lot of AI content today has that same slightly robotic voice. Even when it’s factually correct, you can usually tell it wasn’t written by a human.
So we added something new to RankDots: Brand Voice.

You can now train the AI on your own writing style — the way you actually communicate, not some generic “marketing voice.” The keyword clustering and SERP analysis stay the same, but the content it generates starts to sound much closer to you.
It’s not magic, and it probably won’t be perfect on the first try. You’ll still need to tweak and tune it. But it’s a step toward AI-assisted content that doesn’t feel like obvious AI.
Curious to hear what you think:
How are you dealing with the “everything sounds the same” problem in AI content right now?

Hey IH 👋
A little milestone I’m excited (and nervous) to share — we just launched RankDots on Product Hunt today:
https://www.producthunt.com/products/rankdots-2
RankDots started as a side project. We were constantly wasting hours cleaning up huge keyword lists, trying to figure out which ones actually belong together and which pages to build. So we built a small internal tool to cluster keywords by topic using AI.
Fast forward a few months (and 40+ user interviews later), and it’s now a full SaaS product. RankDots automatically groups keywords into topics, identifies “easy-to-rank” opportunities, and helps generate AI content briefs.
Would love your honest feedback — the good, bad, or “you should totally rethink this part.” 😅
If you’re into SEO, AI, or content strategy, I’d love for you to take a look and tell me what you think.
Here’s the PH link again:

Thanks for reading, and good luck to everyone else building something new this week 🙌

This looks like a promising tool! While I appreciate the AI-driven efficiency, I wonder if solely focusing on "easy-to-rank" keywords might neglect valuable, high-effort, high-impact terms in the long run. Is there a way to balance the quick wins with a more comprehensive strategy, ensuring a robust content ecosystem?

Hey guys! Really cool product. Just a heads up, I tried to do it from my mobile device and I ran into some issues on the website. I couldn't filter by country and the system kept resetting. Worked fine from my desktop.

Congrats on launch and good luck :)
Hey Indie Hackers!
It’s been a wild couple of months since my last update. RankDots keeps evolving — and I’m finally seeing it take shape as the product I always wanted :)
Two big things just landed:
1. Smarter, more intuitive topic clustering.
2. A much stronger AI content editor.
And one more thing...
We’re getting ready to launch RankDots on Product Hunt next week 🎉
This community has been a huge inspiration since day one — so if you’ve been following our journey here on IH, your support there would mean a lot.

Hey IH 👋
A couple weeks back I shared how RankDots started as a way to turn messy keyword lists into clear content plans. Since then, things have been moving fast.
We’ve now run almost 40 customer interviews. Every call gave us new insights — from “this feature saves me hours” to “why doesn’t it do X yet?” That feedback has been shaping the next version of RankDots, which we’re heads-down building right now.
And just last week, we crossed another big milestone: payments are finally live on the site. It feels like we’re graduating from “just an experiment” to a real product people can support and grow with.
Exciting (and a little scary) times ahead. Can’t wait to show you what’s coming next.
For those of you building products: when did adding payments feel “real” for you?

Big congrats on the milestone, Aleh 👏 Adding payments always feels like that moment when a side project shifts into “this is a real product people value.” Love that you’re grounding everything in customer interviews too — curious to see what insights end up shaping the next version of RankDots. Exciting times ahead!

Thanks a lot! 🙏 Totally agree — flipping the switch on payments felt like a real turning point. What’s been even more eye-opening is how much the interviews reshaped our roadmap. A lot of features I thought were “must-haves” turned out to be less important, while things I considered small details kept coming up again and again.
Super excited to ship the next version and see if it lives up to all that feedback 😅

Congrats on the momentum. Small pushback though. Payments live is plumbing, it feels real when strangers swipe a card and then come back next month. Forty interviews with why not do X yet can pull you into a kitchen sink, so pick one job for a tight ICP, price it, and ship that. Share your first paid conversion rate and the one number you will chase for the next 30 days.
Hey IH 👋
When I was planning content for one of my projects, I realised the hardest part wasn’t writing — it was figuring out what to write. I’d end up with huge keyword dumps from different tools, but no idea how they fit together or which ones actually mattered.
So I built RankDots https://rankdots.com/. It’s an AI tool that:
Pulls every related keyword around your topic
Figures out how they connect
Groups them into logical topic clusters
Sorts them by potential traffic, intent, and difficulty
Creates optimized content for any topic with the buil-in AI content editor
Instead of spending days in spreadsheets, you log in and see exactly which pages to create — and in what order — to build topical authority and rank faster.
We’ve just crossed 100 early users, and it’s been fascinating seeing how SEOs, bloggers, and agencies use it in completely different ways.
If you do any kind of SEO or content marketing:
What’s your biggest bottleneck in turning keyword ideas into rankings?

Honestly? It’s getting from “cool keyword idea” to an actual post that’s good enough to rank.
I can find keywords all day, but writing something that’s in-depth, not boring, and still feels original takes way longer than I think it should. Then there’s all the other stuff — internal links, images, making it fit into the rest of my site… that’s usually where I stall out.
The keyword list part is easy. Turning it into something Google actually wants to rank is the hard bit.

Totally hear you! Finding keywords is the easy part, but turning them into content that actually ranks is where the real grind starts.
One thing we’re working on in RankDots is making that jump smoother, so once you’ve got your clusters, you can see exactly what to cover, how it fits into your existing site, and even get a first draft to work from. Still needs a human touch, but it cuts out a lot of the blank-page time and helps keep everything connected.
Curious, when you stall out, is it more about the writing itself, or figuring out the structure and SEO parts?

Ha, yeah, for me it’s more the structure/SEO part than the actual writing. Once I know what I’m aiming for, I can usually get words down pretty quick.
The problem is that “blank page but also make it rank” feeling — I end up second guessing if I’m covering the right subtopics or hitting the intent properly. If RankDots can shortcut that part, I’d be interested in trying it.

Looks like a very thoughtful solution to a common SEO pain point. The way RankDots bridges keyword research and actionable content planning is impressive congrats on reaching 100 early users!

The biggest bottleneck I face is when aligning client intent with a product’s value proposition. Especially if their product market is saturated. Getting specific to niche down on the precise keywords ends up requiring manual analysis slowing down the process.
About
We built RankDots because keyword tools were stuck in the past — content teams and SEOs were wasting days figuring out what to write. RankDots shows exactly what to publish to rank faster and grow traffic.
