RedResumes
Build ATS-friendly resumes that get more interviews.
Hey Indie Hackers 👋
One problem I noticed is that many job seekers don’t only struggle with resumes — they also struggle after getting shortlisted.
A lot of people apply to many jobs, but when they finally get an interview, they feel confused about what to say, how to answer common questions, and how to explain their experience clearly.
That’s why I’m building RedResumes.
RedResumes helps job seekers create ATS-friendly resumes, and I’m also adding interview preparation features so users can practice answers, understand common HR questions, and feel more confident before the interview.
The goal is simple:
Help people go from resume rejected to interview ready.
I’m currently improving the interview section and would love feedback from founders, recruiters, and job seekers here.
What do you think is the biggest problem people face during interviews?
Would love your thoughts 🙌

Hey Indie Hackers 👋
I’m building RedResumes, an AI-powered resume builder for job seekers who are tired of sending resumes and getting no replies.
A big problem I noticed is that many resumes never reach recruiters because they get filtered by ATS systems before any human sees them. Most people also use one generic resume for every job, which reduces their chances of getting interviews.
So I created RedResumes to help users:
✅ Build ATS-friendly resumes
✅ Improve weak resume content
✅ Tailor resumes for specific jobs
✅ Create professional resumes faster
✅ Prepare better for interviews
The goal is simple: help job seekers get more interview calls without wasting hours formatting resumes manually.
I’m still improving the product and would love feedback from the Indie Hackers community.
What do you think is the biggest problem people face when creating resumes today?

After seeing many qualified candidates get rejected before recruiters even viewed their resumes, I built RedResumes.
RedResumes helps job seekers:
• Create ATS-friendly resumes
• Match resumes to job descriptions
• Improve interview chances
• Prepare for interviews with AI
I'm looking for feedback from founders, recruiters, and job seekers. What features would you like to see?

Interesting space.
One thing I'd be curious about is whether the bigger gap here is resume generation, or helping people understand why they’re getting filtered out in the first place.
Those can lead to very different product directions.

That's a great point. I initially focused on resume generation, but after talking with job seekers, I realized many don't understand why their resumes are being filtered out by ATS systems. That's why RedResumes is evolving beyond resume creation to include ATS analysis, job matching, and actionable feedback that helps users identify and fix the issues preventing them from getting interviews.

Possibly.
The reason I'd still be careful is that several directions can feel validated at the same time when users are describing the same underlying frustration.
That's one of those decisions that can quietly shape what the product eventually becomes.
I wouldn't try to unpack that properly in a thread, but if you're curious, feel free to drop your email and I'll send over the tighter version.

That's a good point. I'm still validating that assumption with users. So far, the strongest signal has been that people want more clarity on why they're being rejected, but I'm trying to let user feedback drive the direction rather than forcing a specific solution.

That's exactly the part I'd be careful with.
The challenge isn't necessarily the feedback itself.
It's the decision that ends up getting made because of it.
I wouldn't try to unpack that properly in a thread.
If you'd like the tighter version, just drop your email.
