RefineResume
Your Resume, Perfected
Lately, I’ve been refining (pun intended 😄) my site to make it more appealing and user-friendly. Here’s what I’ve focused on so far:
👀Making the UI more interactive and engaging
🔃Ensuring responsive design across all devices (especially mobile)
⬆️Improving both the quantity and quality of content
But let’s be honest—none of that matters if no one sees it.
Right now, the site gets about 30–50 visitors per week, and the average session lasts about 5 seconds. So clearly, I’ve got two main problems: visibility and value. People either aren’t finding the site, or they don’t find it compelling enough to stick around.
So, I’ve been going all-in on SEO optimization. Here's what I’ve done so far:
👉 Keyword Optimization – Identified high-intent, low-competition keywords relevant and incorporated them into headings, content, and metadata.
👉 Meta Tags + Open Graph Tags – Meta titles and descriptions for each page to improve CTR in search results
👉 Semantic HTML – Restructured pages using proper HTML5 tags (<main>, <article>, <section>, etc.) to help search engines understand the hierarchy and meaning of content.
👉 Alt Text for Images – Added descriptive alt text to all relevant images, improving both accessibility and image SEO.
👉 Internal Linking – Cross-linked key pages and blog posts to increase dwell time and help search engines crawl the site more effectively.
👉 Mobile-Friendliness – Ensured every page looks clean and functions well on mobile, passing Google's mobile usability checks.
👉 Sitemap + Robots.txt (in progress) – Slowly working on this
👉 Backlink Building (in progress) – Slowly working on getting organic backlinks by sharing posts on Reddit, IndieHackers, X, and more.
I also launched a blog section to house the articles I’ve been writing. The goal is two-fold:
Provide real value to visitors
Boost SEO rankings by adding fresh, keyword-rich content
Basically, trying to kill two SEO birds with one stone.
If you’ve got a moment, I’d love for you to check out the site and share any feedback! Your insights would be super valuable as I keep iterating.
Lastly—how did you improve SEO for your own project? Any underrated or game-changing tactics you’d recommend?
Let’s help each other grow 🚀
The current state of the job market is in absolute shambles — even worse than when I was applying during an already tough time.
These days, I constantly see people on social media saying they’ve sent out 500+ applications over months and still made little progress.
It’s genuinely frustrating to see how brutal the market has become, beating down anyone unlucky enough to be unemployed right now.
If you're interested, I wrote a deeper breakdown of the current job market here.
After personally spending months painfully sending hundreds of resumes into the void to land my current job, I realized just how stacked against the average job seeker the odds really are.
That experience inspired me to start building RefineResume — a tool designed to actually help you cut through the noise and beat the competition.
My vision for this tool is simple:
✅ Help you optimize your resume for each application
✅ Maximize your chances of landing interviews
✅ Empower you to pursue the jobs you want, not the ones you're limited to
I'd love your feedback:
If you were using a tool like this, what features would you have to see?
I'd greatly appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, or brutal honesty!

Hey IndieHackers!
I'm excited to introduce RefineResume, a tool that solves the time-consuming problem of manually tailoring resumes for every job posting. If you've ever found yourself spending hours adjusting your resume for each new position, you know how frustrating it can be.
What does RefineResume do?
RefineResume optimizes your resume based on the job description you're applying to, making sure it aligns with the right keywords and formatting to pass through Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). This means you can apply to more positions in less time, increasing your chances of getting noticed and securing interviews!
Why does it matter?
We’ve all encountered "ghost jobs" — listings that take too much time to apply for, don’t really exist, or don’t get responses. With RefineResume, you can spend less time tweaking your resume and more time applying to real opportunities that match your skills. It’s a way to ensure your time is spent on positions that genuinely align with your goals.
Where are we now?
We're still a work in progress, but we're moving quickly. We haven’t launched yet, but we're building a product that job seekers can rely on to automate resume optimization and boost their chances of standing out to employers.
Stay tuned as we prepare for launch, and feel free to join our email list to get early access and updates as we go live!
I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any questions. Thanks for reading!

What do you think about the website's "Resume" on the landing page? I thought it was a pretty neat idea, but looking for feedback.
