January 23, 2026 I built a Shopify popup + cart recovery app — here's what's live and what's next

Hey IH 👋

I've been building Revenue Boost for the past few months. Just launched on the Shopify App Store.

What it does:

All-in-one popup + cart recovery for Shopify stores:

- 40+ popup templates (newsletter, exit-intent, countdown timers)
- Gamification (spin-to-win wheels, scratch cards)
- Cart recovery via WhatsApp, SMS, Email, and Push
- Phone capture with OTP verification
- A/B testing + analytics
- Multi-language support (7 languages)

What makes it different:

Most popup apps charge per subscriber. You pay for 10,000 contacts but email 500.

Revenue Boost charges per message sent. Unlimited contacts.
Pay for what you use.

What's next:

Did a competitive analysis and found gaps nobody's filling:

1. AI copy generation (writes headlines/CTAs for you)
2. Product quiz builder (30-50% conversion vs 3-5%)
3. Pick-a-gift gamification
4. Embedded experiences (in-page, not popup)
5. Waitlist/pre-launch popups

Starting with AI copy generation.

Would love feedback. What would you want to see first?

Congrats on the launch! Out of curiosity, which analytics metric ended up being the biggest eye-opener for you, retention, activation, or something unexpected?

January 19, 2026 I built a Shopify popup app without researching competitors first

Hey IH 👋

In September 2025, I decided to build a Shopify app. Zero experience with Shopify. Just wanted to try it and make some money.

I picked popups — seemed straightforward.

Built for a few weeks. Then finally looked at competitors.

50+ popup apps. All solid. Some with cart recovery, SMS, the works.

Great. I'm late to a crowded market.

But one thing kept bugging me: the pricing.

Most charge per subscriber. Your email list grows → your bill grows. Store collects 10k emails → $99/mo+. Whether you message them or not.

So I built Revenue Boost differently:

→ Flat subscription

→ Unlimited contacts

→ Pay only for messages you send

Popups + cart recovery (SMS, email, push) in one app.

Pushing to production today. Launching on Product Hunt Feb 24.

Happy to share what I've learned building for Shopify with zero experience. AMA 👇

Built a popup app with zero Shopify experience. 50+ competitors. Most charge per subscriber — list grows, bill explodes. Revenue Boost: flat subscription + pay only for messages sent.
