SaaS Screenshots

10 days ago, we built our launching page to collect emails.
And right now, we have more than 180 emails.

Today, I am going to share how we reach this number.

• Twitter Part

As you know that we will launch a screenshot database and this is not going to be the first one. We have some competitors and some of them have twitter accounts as well.

We checked those accounts and tried to reach their followers through DM, saying like:

" I have noticed that you have been following x for a while. We will launch a similar site in the coming days. Would you like to be notified?"

Also, I have tried to reach accounts that shared a post about our competitors. And tried to reach the ones who retweeted and liked that post as well.

In addition to that, I used followerwonk to find people related to saas design / saas content.

• Product Hunt Part

We made a list of product hunt launches that is related to saas products. And checked accounts who posted a comment on the launch day one by one. After that, we found their social media profiles and sent them a message similar to the previous one.

Also, we launched our upcoming page on PH as well. 27 people are on the list, atm.

• LinkedIn Part

We tried to find accounts that included "saas pages" term on their posts and reached them through DM.

I assume that our product will grab the attention of Product Designers and Product Marketers, so we are sending emails / connection requests to those guys as well.

But, we need to be careful as LinkedIn has a strict policy related to sending connection requests and inmails.

Next week, we will communicate with saas communities in order to promote our account to their user once we launch saas screenshots.

So here is my question:
What do you do for your launch day preparations?
How do you collect emails and build an audience?

We launched two different projects in the last month - saasaffiliateprograms.net & customersuccess.jobs - and because of that, we couldn't focus on this.

But now, it's time to spare all of our efforts for screenshots, cus this will be the biggest one in the market now.

We have prepared a launch plan for this and the indie hackers / PH community will be so valuable in that case.

We will reach out to UX designers / marketeers / copywriters who have been working for SaaS companies. Also, similar products that launched on PH.

Planning to announce the project in the mid of February.

And we will continue to share updates from this platform.

With the help of page capturing tools, we got more than 5.000 screenshots for different pages such as pricing, teams, templates, partners, use-cases, university, academy etc.

We decided to upload those images to wordpress and use wpgridbuilder to filter those screenshots in terms of companies and categories.

Aiming to launch this site in 10 days, at last...

We would like to offer two plans to our visitors - monthly / yearly.
And we want to offer a dedicated service to those especially checking some pages regularly. For instance, if a user wants to check pricing pages once in a month; we can share the screenshot every Monday.

Let us know if anyone has an experience related to building a directory on WP.

We decided to use the accessible version of urlprofiler.com to grab the screenshots of SaaS companies. Currently, we have more than 2.000 screenshots and the number will go up to 5.000. We will have two packages - free & paid.

On the free version, the user can access 200-300 screenshots.
And on the paid one, all of the screenshots will be accessible.

We need to figure out how to share those screenshots with the paid users.
One alternative might be airtable, which also has a do not copy feature.

I know that airtable has a do not copy feature and only costs 12$ - 24$ to use their pro plan.

Any other solutions?
I have seen that some websites used gumroad to reach all sources such as letterhunt.co.

Open to hearing your suggestions.

For bulk scraping, there are many tools out there.
We have yet to decide which ones to use, but our favorite ones are urlprofiler and urlbox.
It will take time to build this in-house, so we are more likely to use a tool here.

In the meantime, we know that there are many similar solutions, such as saasframe.io, and saaspages.xyz.

We are checking their weaknesses and will focus on those features to include our website. First of all, it's going to be a directory. Later on, we might turn this into a subscription-based business.

Please let us know if anyone tried urlprofiler or urlbox before.

We decided to focus on softwares that have pricing pages.

We will understand which software has a pricing page through the navigation bar or footer part. We can also double-check it through their URLs - /pricing.

After we capture the main, full, and pricing pages, we will launch our website.

We bought a new domain - saasscreenshots.com - and this will be our first website under the SaaS Library project.

We are in Turkey, so we need a stripe account to get payments.
So, we wanted to establish our company in the UK. We applied through an agency, and hopefully, the process will be completed in the coming days.

In terms of scraping the full pages, we are trying to find the optimum image size.
We will continue with 1440.

We collected screenshots of over 100 companies and analyzed the missing parts on our end. We will make some modifications to our code to get the screenshots properly.

We are still searching for the right third-party tool and figuring out how softr works for us.

We have a list of 4.000+ software that we collect from the Internet.

Firstly, we want to capture their full home pages and main page screenshots.

We want to share this data in Airtable and embed the table on our website.

There will be a filter option so our users can filter the software regarding employee size and industry.

There will be a survey on our website to collect feedback from the early adopters.
