Sorry to hear that. Did the project not gain traction?

A bit ironic that the domain is for sale :|

There were multiple things leading to closing:

      • initial traction was OK, but things were not building up over time as we hoped for
      • 1kprojects launched domain sales as well
      • we both did not have time to push this forward, so decided to officially close it, instead of dragging it (like I am doing with many of my pet projects)

We do see the irony in this, which is exactly why the domain price is also within limits we had on the service :)

November 28, 2018 First sale on our first day!

Yesterday we also launched on ProductHunt. @ivbran hunted the website, as we decided not to use PH power users. In our experience, if the product is interesting and good, it will attract upvotes and visits anyway.

We were featured and finished #8 with 243 upvotes currently.
PH sent us some quality traffic, we got quite a few users and domains.

First sale was also done on the first day of sparenames.com, which made us very happy!

Domain oneoffer.co was sold for $99.

November 27, 2018 We launched

@ivbran suggested to use bubble.is for our MVP. That turned out a great decision! In a week, we were able to build the whole marketplace as well as discuss and make some important decisions.
For example, we have put an upper limit on domain prices.
https://sparenames.com/ was launched.

November 18, 2018 Decided to build marketplace for unused domains

Both of us have some #unused-domains, that are just laying around and cost us money. We knew this was not only our problem and decided to build marketplace for such domains.

About

We were inspired by Transferslot and 1kprojects where makers buy and sell side projects and we thought it would be cool if there was a place where we can find new owners for our unused domains and/or buy new domains.
