We build VR shops
Follow me on this journey. We will be building a VR game and agency from scratch with no funding. These videos will give you some insight and i hope i get some support and feedback from likeminded people in the community.
Thanks for following along.
Every business we meet with has the same question...
How many people actually use VR headsets?
Its a really good question, why build something if only 20% of your clients can access it. Based off this question we started researching WebXr in more detail.
The assumption was, if we build it in WebGL, people could access via mobile, tablet, desktop and Virtual Reality. We just needed to build a custom game engine. So that's what we did.
We now have a functional 3d experience all done via web, with a single click. Its a shared space, with 3d models and that can be interacted with. Our next push will have voice, add to cart functionality and the ability to customise your avatar.

We finally got approved for the Shopify app store, it only took us 2 months.
We spent over 200k AUD developing prototypes for vr shops and went down the path of getting them on the oculus store, App lab and Steam only to be rejected all the way. So we decided to go down the Webxr path.
Now anyone with a shopify store can have an instant vr display space. We have a free tier, just add your model and view it in VR instantly. You can pick up the products and interact with them, you can also grow and shrink them with your hands.
We would love any feedback!
Enjoy.

Congrats on the approval! I don't think VR platforms are currently looking into having VR stores in their app stores. Do you have any store demo?

So far its lonely, and feels like i am wasting time doing it, but we are going to keep going and see if we can get some kind of following. The hardest part is finding your voice and putting up content that people will actually enjoy. I guess we will keep going until it works. This is us https://www.tiktok.com/@sullivanstudios

After so many lockdowns in Melbourne, decided to move to the country for some fresh air. We setup a new office in the historic Piper Street and absolutely love it. We are embarking on our latest app which creates instant virtual reality stores for shopify store owners, something we think will be amazing. Watch this space.

So our office is based in large factory that is used by a scaffolding company. So we thought it was the right to embrace it and build our board room table out of scaffolding.
It also works really well for dancing on...

So there is the age old question...
When is VR going to go mainstream?
Well if you look at the stats its not really a relevant question anymore, the answer is it already has.
Right now big brands have seen the momentum and they are building the first VR shop experiences as we speak. Here is some the main reasons our clients
have chosen to start building experiences in particularly on Shopify.
- Shopping experience in general
If you build on Shopify, you generally care about your customers shopping experience and want them to experience your brand in its best light. Images are great and so is video and fancy squiggly lines.
But being able to pick up and object, inspect it really close and then throwing it across the store is way cooler.
- Manage all of your products in VR from your current Shopify store.
We don't want to reinvent the wheel, Shopify is amazing. Simply add your 3d models into your Shopify store, we dynamically pull them into your virtual reality experience and allow your customers to interact and
more importantly buy your products. Boom brand new store in the virtual world.

Do you know this post will vanish with time and people will forget about what you are doing?
I have built substor, where you can insert a bio, showcase some social media posts, all your social media profiles in one place, some custom links, and you can ask people to subscribe to you so that you can send them an email.
But youtube sends notifications?
Let me ask you a question, how many notifications do you receive in a day? And on how many do you click? And when a person receives an email from social media platform, its generic and also includes other stuff as well. With substor, your email will be YOU.
Try substor. It's free to create an account. No card is needed.
