Tactiq
AI Note Taker for Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
If you're like me, you probably hate taking meeting notes (but you need them). It's exhausting to stay focused/engaged in meetings and take notes without worrying about forgetting things. It's why I built Tactiq.io which transcribes Google Meets/Zoom web calls and enables you to stay focused whilst it creates notes for you.
And (exciting part...) we just launched 🚀 Tactiq 2.0 on Product Hunt! Blood, sweat, tears and some laughs went into this launch. v2.0 now works with zoom, notion and even auto-creates meeting summaries for you 👀.
I'm also doing an AMA on the page, if you wanted to ask about our journey to 180,000+ users or how we use Tiktok to grow.
Happy meeting(s). Ksenia

After launching voice to text meeting notes a month ago I continued interviewing PMs and teams to better understand how they run meetings and why having notes is important.
Surveys shows that near 80% already have remote meetings and it's crucial for them to have a log of discussion.
After exploring ways how could I integrate Google Meet with the notes, Extension seemed the best fit: reuse code, no new engines and new marketplace.
There were some difficulties with Firebase Integration inside Extension, but this repo is super helpful: https://github.com/firebase/quickstart-js/tree/master/auth/chromextension
Happy to announce that it's up and running in Chrome Marketplace now 🤗https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tactiq-for-hangouts-meet/fggkaccpbmombhnjkjokndojfgagejfb

This is a really clever idea and one that feels obvious in retrospect. Something we really need in meetings. Nice work!

🔥 Thanks @joshuantaylor! Could you tell for what types of meetings it it important for you to have full transcription?

Specifically cross functional meetings where there are lots of topics being discusses. Anything that will have a share out afterwards. I don't see it as necessary for people on the same team that are in more of a collaborative scenario. Obviously the type of company matters too. If you want a record of all convos (like HR, or anything else where you want to go back and say "I told you so"), it's really nice.

Useful distinction here: meeting transcription and in-the-moment drafting are adjacent, but they solve different bottlenecks.
Tactiq makes a lot of sense for passive meeting logs. The workflow that has stuck more for me outside meetings is active push-to-talk capture for docs, email, backlog grooming, and quick drafts in any app.
Disclosure: I’m helping with Wispr Flow outreach, so I’m affiliated on that side. If anyone here wants to test the active-capture workflow, this is the referral link I’m using: https://wisprflow.ai/r?ANTON578&utm_source=indiehackers&utm_medium=comment&utm_campaign=wispr_referral&utm_content=tactiq_active_capture
Curious whether your strongest retention comes more from teams archiving meetings, or from people turning those transcripts into follow-up tasks and docs right away?

Sharing the joy of receiving positive feedback! That's so amazing when someone you don't know and didn't ask to just send you an email and tell you that they love your product and want to use it for writing meeting notes collaboratively in their team.
To let users know that their feedback and requests are #1 priority I've added this block in the email:
"We always here to speak, so if you have any questions, concerns or just want to say ‘Hello’ just hit the reply button or click here."
In FAQ:
Where can I send a feedback?
Got something to share with us? Would love to hear you! Contact us via feedback form or email.
What's the lesson? Do not forget to share your feedback about tools you're using ❤️

Over the last six months, I’ve been busy working on the new version of Tactiq.
Now, after dozens of talks with people about their meeting problems I'm excited to announce the new version of Tactiq powered by speech to text transcription.
It's like the new Pixel 4 transcription features plus with real-time collaboration for your team. To have a full notes of your meeting all you need to do is to speak as usual while Tactiq takes meeting notes for you. Smart AI-powered speech recognition turns your team discussion into meaningful and accurate notes leaving you the opportunity to collaborate together on it.

I like the UI a lot.
Have you considered reducing the number of clicks to get to the trial product?
Currently it's:"Sign Up Free" > Create Account > Create New Hub > Invite Your Team > Create Getting Started Meeting.
I would suggest trying a one click (time limited) "Try it right now" CTA which gets someone straight into the product so they can see how great it is!

Agree, the on-boarding journey need to be reduced. Thanks for sharing!

Looks great - out of interest how do you make the numbers work? 8usd per month incs 5 hours of transcription... I thought Google charged around 1.5usd per hour of transcription? Or have they reduced their prices?
-

yeah, they charge around 1,44 usd. So for a personal use I'll be barely in zero, but Tactiq works best for teams with its collaborative real-time editor and more team features to come. So the bigger team the better. Anyway it's currently free and the pricing model still is not final.

Hi Alex,
You're 100% right, it's GCP API and they are still not perfect, still in beta. They are continuously improving and if I get it right they use YouTube videos CC to train their models. I'll also planing to add more functionality to enhance the quality with pre-set vocabulary and use of alternatives for the words in future.
Thanks so much for the encouragement! It'll be interesting to hear your story about cloud voice-to-text and where it brought you. How did you work with transcription finished? Or is it still in progress?

This video should be helpful to the new customer. Now when you create your Hub you'll receive email with the link :)

Congrats on getting Tactiq to 180k users — that is real distribution. One thing I keep noticing in this category is that passive meeting transcription and active in-the-moment drafting solve adjacent but different bottlenecks.
Meeting notes help with recall. The stickier workflow for me outside meetings has been push-to-talk capture for follow-up docs, backlog grooming, email drafts, and quick writing in any app while the thought is still live.
Disclosure: I’m helping with Wispr Flow outreach, so I’m affiliated on that side. If anyone here wants to test the active-capture side of this workflow, this is the tracked referral link I’m using: https://wisprflow.ai/r?ANTON578&utm_source=indiehackers&utm_medium=comment&utm_campaign=wispr_referral&utm_content=tactiq_180k_active_capture
Curious what ended up driving stronger retention for you in practice: better meeting recall, easier summaries, or people expanding the habit into broader day-to-day writing after the meeting ends?
THANKYOU! For everyone on this post who supported this ProductHunt launch. We finished the day as #4 Product of the Day.
I wrote up the things I think you should takeaway/steal from our launch here: https://blog.tactiq.io/how-we-made-product-hunt-launch-4th-spot-more-impactful-than-a-1-993c426c6d9d?source=friends_link&sk=a9ea616f40e56ead4c12076fc342bca2
Congrats! Love to see a write up here of how you used TikTok to grow.
